Why did you delete my post? It wasn't anything bad. I just asked why there's no name for your cryptocurrency..

That's really bad PR from your end.

Good luck with your project.

Because I decided to release the name of the coin and the web address, which made your post make no sense. I was not trying to be shady. You still own the first real reply outside the original post. I hope you can forgive me for deleting your post. It was not meant to be a scam.

You can mine our burncoins on cooler algos and exchange for a fair price for Digital Credits.

With only 2,628,000 credits generated via Proof of Burn each year it will actually be less inflation than PoS which is just 1%. At the end of the day Digital Credits is an experiment to test PoB and it's effect on the coins value in the open market. It will either succeed or it will fail, I don't think the endless PoW will make it more or less likely to happen. But I could be wrong.

sounds too close to delta credits.

Any cryptocurrency using the term credits is going to sound similar.  ;D

A lack of active mining pools would be an indication that a coin is not being seriously mined in anyway. It's fairly easy to check pool stats. That combined with a missing developer and little to no trade volume would also indicate it's not being mined seriously. I think you have to look at the larger picture when determining a coin's health. PoB is still a new concept and it will take trial and error to get the selection process perfected. We certainly don't want to target coins in a hostile manner. Scam coins would certainly be a preferred target which would help rescue those left "holding the bag" as they say. Suggestions from the community on how to improve the process are welcome.

A lack of active mining pools would be an indication that a coin is not being seriously mined in anyway. It's fairly easy to check pool stats. That combined with a missing developer and little to no trade volume would also indicate it's not being mined seriously.

I think I can discern the main criteria:

Minimally, a candidate altcoin must be PoW-only and listed on some arbitrary exchange. fallingknife keeps a reasonably up-to-date list of exchanges but obviously, only those of which (s)he is aware. I recommend that you address the woolliness of the other criteria: “not being seriously mined”, “little to no trade volume”. In practice you will need actual numerical values, a likely contentious subject. Edit: the volume is at least partly satisfied, defined as: “under 0.2 BTC weekly Average”

The meaning of “a missing developer” is very unclear, there are a lot of unwarranted assumptions in those three words. Apart from the difficulty introduced by the fact that the notion of “a developer” is somewhat anomalous in the context of a peer-to-peer network (there is no practical means of enforcing the notion of an “official” anything), the use of the definite article incorrectly presupposes: that an altcoin must have at least one developer to function, that a developer must be identifiable as such in order for the coin to function, that the identified individual conforms to some as-yet-undefined specification of “acceptable”, etc, etc.

The task becomes even more challenging when considering the assumptions behind the term “missing” and how difficult it will be to operationalise them as criteria when they are so vague and unreliable (“missing” from where exactly? How long is “too long”?)

I recommend you undertake a paper-and-pencil public pilot project which at least touches on as many of these issues as possible so everyone can get a sense of the likely scope and range of application of the principle. Something from the tail end of coinmarketcap's listing that fits the criteria would probably do, or something with low trading (where the term “low” is defined in numerical coin/time terms) from Poloniex’ listing (as they have a reputation for not delisting --- but by the same token, ignore anything on Bittrex as they regularly cleanse their listing, something which C-CEX has also started to do). If handled sensitively, the very task of publicly selecting a candidate alt for this exercise will probably reveal any substantial disagreements and provide a context for resolving them (assuming they can be resolved).

Cheers

Graham

I understand what your getting at, I can certainly do a better job at explaining it. In my use of the term "Missing Developer" I guess you could apply the term lack of activity. If you look at CoinMarketCap for example you will get an idea of what I'm getting at. Coins in the top 20 or 30 seem to have similar things in common, an active developer or team of developers with a well laid out action plan for the future of a coin. This usually insures an active community helping out by submitting ideas and discussing the coin among other things. It also tends to coordinate pretty closely with number of individuals mining, staking, and trading the coin as well as the coins value and price stability.  A coin that can maintain or increase it's value under a healthy trade volume is a coin I think most people would consider to be alive and under development. Some people might call this a Network Effect.

While you are correct that it should be difficult to determine in the context of a peer-to-peer network in practice it doesn't work that way. People who use and trade in alt coins look to a central figure or figures and the activity of those central figures to decide if a coin is worth investing in. When you look at coins that have no central figure or group steering their development and maintenance you tend to see no activity in trading, value, or overall interest. To most people it would give the impression that a coin is dead and worthless. Whether that's the fair way to determine value is a whole other conversation. I don't believe, and maybe I'm wrong, that a mathematical set of figures, algorithms, or clearly defined numbers could determine which coins are burn worthy any better than simple review and observation of the publicly available statistics could do. Again, maybe I'm wrong and there is a better way.

I can certainly make the requirements more clear but I was trying to avoid getting over technical. At the end of the day it's impossible to please all people all the time. I will work on coming up with clearer guidelines as you suggested, as I think that's a great suggestion.

How much premine have DGCS? thanks

200 million credits have been premined for the purpose of Proof of Burn. Some of those credits may be diverted for giveaways and promotions from time to time, but the vast majority will be used for burns. PoW and Pos have no distribution caps but will be distributed very slowly. Between the 3 different distribution methods you can expect about 10 to 15 million credits to be distributed every year until the PoB funds run out. After this event the inflation rate will be at about 1% a year with the two remaining distribution methods until the end of time.

DGCS Wallet looks nice, I love the dark colors.

Thank you, it will be updated again in the future so it's not so plain looking. But I think it will do for now.

Mining pool is up and running now, payouts happen quickly, about 5 credits earned. Just go to http://dcredits.com/pool/ to get the connection details, no registration required.

The windows wallet is ready for download and can be found here: http://dcredits.com/download/

We are working on a linux and Mac wallet and should be released soon. You can however compile one yourself here : https://github.com/intristin/digitalcredits

We are still in the process of finding a Burn Partner and getting listed on some exchanges, in the meantime just save up those credits. Now is a great time to mine as the difficulty is low. Enjoy! For more information you can visit our website here : http://dcredits.com/

Staking starts at block 60k, this will happen sometime before Christmas. My suggestion to you if you only want to stake is set a google calendar alert for the second week of december and just fire back up the client.

No, sorry man, like I said to the first Gentleman that asked 100% of the premine is set aside for Proof of Burn. I can't simply redirect funds away from that fund for a giveaway. I only have a few hundred personal credits from mining so I'm to poor to give credits away to every person that asks. I would suggest bookmarking this thread for news of future burn targets, perhaps we will target a coin you have a supply of and then you can just exchange them for free credits.  ;D

There is no official faucet for Digital Credits. The three distribution methods are Proof Of Work (Mining), Proof of Stake (starts at block 60K), And Proof of Burn (starts Dec 1). Digital Credits has no free distribution program of any kind. We are however planing a fun event to celebrate the launch of Proof of Burn on December 1 which will have lots of cool prizes, but we are not ready to announce details yet. Feel free to bookmark this thread. There are currently Credits for sale on Yobit really cheap right now.

Thanks man, It's been a busy first few days since the launch and we are working hard to ensure that Digital Credits has a long and healthy shelf life. We are here for the long run and we have lots of things planned. More details will be released about these plans over the next few weeks. So subscribe to this thread or sign up at our website to follow along. The buy price on Yobit is still very low so feel free to buy up some cheap credits while you can. We are currently in second place to get listed on C-Cex and if we can just get another 500 votes in the next 2 days you all will have access to yet another market to trade your credits in if you so choose. Visit their voting page at https://c-cex.com/?id=vote to cast free or paid votes. Have a great Monday everyone.

The 200,000,000 Is a burn fund and is only used for exchanging dead coins for DGCS. Coins in circulation should be calculated without the burn fund.

Coffee.Cup is correct, those credits are not in circulation and wont be anytime soon. Burn credits will be distributed at about the same rate as PoW credits, give or take depending on how many coins we target at once. You can always check the richest wallet on the block explorer and compare it to what we spend on burn once it starts to make sure nothing is being stolen.

Yes, I sorry I don't have access to a Mac or Linux to compile so I had to hire the job out. I had found a guy to compile the mac and he said he was going to do it and then disappeared. We have a Linux client being compiled now and will be released sometime today! We are working on getting both clients compiled and released asap!

We have also won the vote at C-CEX and should be listed there soon. That will give you all 2 ways to trade!

So what else can you do with Digital Credits? Big news coming this weekend! I'll give you a hint, "something fun"!

We have been holding around 100 sats for the last two months. That is with distributing over 2 million through our burns. Yest i really want to see the price go up so we need to ask all your holders a few questions.

1. What do you thing of PoB, do you like it or do your think it should go away? If so, why and what should replace it?
2. Do you think we should change our algorithm? Is so, to what and why?
3. Should we have built in options that allow you to vote for changes?
4. Should your transactions be hidden? Do you care about privacy?
5. Do you want slow PoW/PoS, or fast?

Please keep in mind this in not a popularity contest. We want smart feedback and we will never make a change that would dilute your investment. Every change we may make will be announced well in advance.

hey guys, what do you think? As I have stated many times in the past I'm not a DEV. I pay a team to keep everything updated and to make changes to DGCS. I'm feeling like we need a major change to keep our price going up. This is not going to be a small expense to me so i would like to get it right. I really do want and need your feedback, please give it.

February burn canceled due to attack on the block chain.

You could possibly make arrangements with the hosting exchanges to create a central chain for the duration.
Using the auto-checkpointing feature in most PoS coins. (as long as the coin is PoS)

All exchanges would have to agree obviously.

--

i'm all up for you continuing to burn coins :D obviously there will be further challenges as it's pretty easy to attack coins with weak networks.

if you can do as i suggested above, that would be beneficial for everyone as the exchanges will benefit as well if they are targeted too.

I'm still here guys, please know that I promised from the beginning I would not dump and abandon DGCS, Nothing changes. Our block chain is very secure, I doubled the nodes I personal control to over 50%. Not to mention I still hold the burn fund.

Plan is simple, we will be moving to a POS/POW model with a completely new blockchain. Current credits will be swapped two to one for the new credits, this will lower the supply and jack up the price. THE BURN FUND WILL NOT BE SWAPPED! It will be destroyed. We plan to slightly increase the PoW and PoS rewards and move to a new algorithm. This part of the plan is still be discussed.

At the end of the day, your investment is protected. A lot of dumping has happened over the last few days. and I am happy to say I'm getting a lot of cheap DGCS in the process. We are shooting for march 1, might be April 1. It's 50/50 at this point as we work out what it will cost.

as long as the fund isn't burned i'm not considering this coin. don't want to call u a scammer but all the things look a little bit shady.
my suggestion: burn the fund and cut the pow supply to 10 mill or something like that. this might give the rocket some fuel.
also you need a roadmap, NEW LOGO, more advertising -> altcoin report etc ...

Title: Re: [DGCS] Digital Credits : 3 Fair Distributions : 4 Exchanges : 4 Pools
Post by: intristin on February 23, 2016, 09:01:03 PM
We are still months away from any kind of relaunch/swap as it will cost more money. When that happens the burn fund will not be swapped, thus destroying it. We will give everyone ample notice when it happens. The details are not set in stone of what the road map will, be so nothing has been posted yet.

Currently the block chain is very secure. So I suggest people keep mining and staking for now, all credits held during the swap will be fully compensated.

Someone hacked the guy who did my coding and managed to steal the entire burn fund. How this person cracked my passphrase is beyond me. I was told it was hacked and I really have no idea about anything beyond that. For all I know the story is bullshit and my programmer stole the funds. He seemed like to trustworthy guy so I just don't know. Whoever jacked the burn fund wallet went on to dump those stolen funds on market and crashed the price. I was the largest holder of DGCS at the time so I pretty much lost the most money. I feel bad for others who lost money but really nothing I can do about it. I had dumped thousands of dollars into this coin and it was all snatched away in a night. I'm pretty pissed about the whole thing which is why I have been MIA. There is no way to rescue the coin without rewarding the hacker. I'm not about to do that. I can't restart the coin as I'm sure most people will think I'm the one that stole the funds. I really have no way to prove I didn't. It's all rather pointless at this point.
