for sure i choose windows 100% beacuse its easier than linux ..but linux its more difficult for virus to infect than windows.

not just secure its also fully customizable if you have computer skills.

Other than gaming, I have no use for a winxx machine. And for bitcoin I would not even consider a non-linux computer.  

windows for women/kids/me, linux for servers. :P

Well I like more Linux than Windows, but I use Windows because I'm forced to use certain tools that only on windows without wine works perfectly.

I'm using Linux,it's easier,faster and fully customizable than windows.
Windows is only ERROR :D

Linux for security, Windows to play games.

Being not into linux 100% of my like != laziness buddy. Some of us are just grown ups and have lives outside of recompiling gentoo every 2 days or emerging shit etc. Lol though. :D

I use debian linux and windows 7 in VM's.

Hmm i have to try linux it looks more safe than windows.

Maybe linux is better for virus protection but i use windows all my life, and i like it more than linux, so i would never change my windows 7 for a linuz. It won't happen.

I tried Linux a few times. I loathed it. I want something that just works and none of the various distros I tried could manage that.

Did you try ubuntu desktop? pretty simple and easy imo, but i've been a linux guy for like 10-15 yrs.

Dunno if it was desktop but one of them was a form of Ubuntu. It was on a laptop that was rather tired. The cursor would uselessly trace a rectangle no matter what I did with it after installation. I doff my hat at all its fans but I'm happy with stinky old windows.

Try it with 2 PC's.

For bitcoin use the linux one, for daily use windows is ok.

The privacy issue on window is more probably push me to choose linux.

BTW, how about mac os?

Havent tried linux yet. I am using windows and I am fully satisfied with it till now.

Mac OS is proprietary software. GNU/Linux ideology is the opposite.

Linux = VERY, VERY big problem with drivers.

I love linux, but I use it for what it's needed, hosting servers, my wallets etc. But I'd not use anything but Window$ for everything else since it's so simple and easy to use :)

depends, every 2 or 3 yrs drivers gets solved.

Linus is too much work too use.. i'd rather have what i want done and move on to some other task.
many of my cracking tools don't work on Linux either.. AKA: software compat.

I am using Windows on my computer. I think Windows is more popular then Linux. We are using Linux for servers and for security. I think that Linux can not catch the virus. Windows is better for home use  :D

GNU/Linux = security. Windows = games.

That's the problem. You know why is so popular? because:
1)Forced to be installed on computers for years
2)They push developers to do games for windows
3)Push developers to make software
4)They would sell their own mother to make you produce stuff for windows.

Meanwhile on Linux:
1)They don't force you to install linux on your machine, but you can use 1 dvd for like thousand of pc
2)Who makes software for linux is not paid at all, volunteers and donations.
3)Less games, because of point 2
4)You are freely able to mount or dismount linux as you please.

You are absolutely right and I agree with you FanEagle, the obligation and popularity have made a failure in safety windows.

since 2000 roughly i grew tired of trying to find programs for linux that can compare to their windows counterpart.

the people who can get away with using it are a niche user.. or simply Web Surfers
people who need to get work done use windows..

last thing i used Linux for was Backtrack/Kali ..for obvious reasons ;)

Mac = Leisure, Coding, Casual Work etc

Windows = PC Gaming, Apps that don't work on Mac, Geekdom etc

Linux = Never tried

Obviously it is Windows.
Linux have so many problems, first one its so difficult specially when one switched to windows to Linux, the system totally changed. Other problem is with drivers. Third one is for me its not compatible with the mentality of common people, yes if you are a professional user and you know how rectify problems in Linux then you may vote for Linux, but for me its Windows.

I am a Microsoft Windows user, but I am sure that Linux is also a good platform. I never use Linux before, but from what I have heard from the most users I can make some compares:

Windows, especially windows 8 and 10 is definitely the fastest operative system that exist on planet Earth. When I install win 8 for the first time I was really surprised from the speed. The way how you turn on/off the computer was so fast. Also, if you are a gamer, then windows should be your choice. If you are gamer like me, downloading games and movies from torrents, then be sure that you will not have any problems if you use Microsoft. :) But, unlike Linux, Windows have a lot viruses that can attack your OS.

So if you like to use your PC for work, then you should choose Linux, but if you want more - Microsoft Windows! :D
