Betcoin.AG has been kind enough to host a tournament for us.

Some of you may say why betcoin.ag and not another poker site?
or why a 11mBTC buyin?
or why this specific time?

I feel this is the meet-in-the-middle solution!

Sounds like fun OP and look forward to joining the group.  Will this be a weekly thing?  You should do some weekly rankings and stream the tournament.

Sure hope so!  We will see how interested everyone is, possibly tweak the time/date...How are Sundays for you?

Great job OP on getting this set up. The price is right, but unfortunately, the time isn't good for me. Anytime on Sundays and I'm in. Hopefully it does become a weekly thing.

Good Luck to all those that can make it!

Oh, and by the way, pretty much everyone on the betcoin.ag site knows the password to this tourney by now, even those that aren't bitcointalk.org forum members.  :-X

And just curious, who put up the 200 mbtc guarantee? You or betcoin? Well, Thanks to whoever did. Really cool.

Definitely hoping to get a BitcoinTalk weekly game going!  It seems Sunday is a popular day so far, we may try that next week if this one goes well!

Not really worried about the password getting out.  Would be fantastic to have a large game, and if we can pull in more users to the forum because of it, double win!

Betcoin.AG put up the 200mbtc, a big thanks again to them for helping with all of this!

Interesting tournament and great prize but unfortunately the starting time is not friendly to me, it will be after midnight in my timezone :(
Hope there will be another tourney like this in the near future that is more friendly to me.

Yeah, I hope there's a good turn out too how ever way it happens so it can be a regular thing. It's just Saturday is a day for going out and doing stuff and getting things done that need to get done. While Sunday is stay at home, chill, watch sports, get high, play poker. Prolly why most poker sites have their flagship million dollar tournaments on Sundays.

Anyway, like I said, I hope there's a good turnout Saturday so we can keep it going in the future.

Cheers

Prizes distribution changes with how many players join.  Currently there are 6 players and 1st & 2nd pay out.

Everyone is not a good player as well. It is just for fun and for meetup between bitcointalk poker player so it is better to join the game. The buy in is just low enough and currently around $3 which is very small amount to wager

This is going to be a regular weekly thing ? Sunday best day to host it.

We will definitely plan next one for Sunday and see if the turnout is better.  I won't be able to attend next Sunday as I will be on a plane, but will help organize it to make sure it goes off.  Only 5 registered so far, that leaves a 2/5 chance of winning a prize, you don't have to be a good player, you just need a little luck and a few bucks!

BOUNTY:
Knock me out of the tournament (user: Rapacious) and win a cool 200mBTC!!!
I am putting up 100mBTC bounty and Betcoin.AG is also!
Also, bounty of 50 mbtc on plo8monster! and 50 mbtc on StareYouDown.
The tournament now has a prizepool worth 500 mbtc!
Now you have no reason to not play, things are getting crazy!

Bounty will be deposited to your Betcoin account after the tournament by submitting a ticket to www.betcoin.ag/support

Please fix the in-browser poker in time for the bitcointalk game.

It's been down over 24 hours now.

I get this when I visit https://securepoker.betcoin.ag/flash/ :

I also got it on flash, on trying to download client. Then finally downloaded and while playing my 1st tournament with them was sit-outed few times.... while my connection was fine and I even was able to watch what players are doing at other tables, my was frozen. Which cost me few good hands... Very annoying and I think to play there just when there is overlay.

You could try with few refreshes.

After several refresh I could get the into the web client but it is not loading on my end. They need to fix this or atleast reschedule the tournament since this whole pot is too much to miss

I was just able to reload the web client from a fresh browser in 2 tries.  Keep trying, you have a couple hours to get it loaded ;)  The tourney is a GO for today, no stopping this train.  Shortly after this tourney I will update with next weeks info.

Good question.  I am asking Betcoin now about this.  The guaranteed prize pool is 200mBTC (finding out why this doesnt show in the prize pool currently).  The other 300mBTC are bounty bonuses and will be paid to the appropriate person post tourney by submitting a support request to Betcoin.

registered now and the prize pool is 110 mbtc but the description said that it is 200 mbtc guaranteed tournament. Does this mean the other 300 mbtc will be paid only to the 1st rank ?

The 300mBTC will be paid out for 'knockouts'.  You have to knock the following people out of the tournament to claim the appropriate prize:

Rapacious (me) - 200mBTC bounty
plo8monster - 50mBTC bounty
StareYouDown - 50mBTC bounty

If you knock out one of these players, just email support for the bounty prize.  The prize will be deposited to your Betcoin account/

Okay.  So the Guaranteed 200mBTC prize pool is there.  While the tournament lobby only shows 110mBTC right now, if you click on the 'Prize Structure' you can see that the 200mBTC is set to be paid out to the top winners.  I think we are all set, but awaiting verification from Betcoin.

I see, thanks for setting up this bounty. If for example you knock out both plo8monste r/ stareyoudown or the other way around does this mean the bounty for knocking you down will be accumulated into 250 mbtc?

Nope.  If i knock one of those two out I get the bounty :)  If you knock me out, you get 200mBTC still.  If someone with a bounty on their head wins the tourney, that bounty is forfeited and not paid out to anyone.  Thanks for helping to clarify this for everyone!

Tournament starts in 1 HOUR.  We are up to 18 players!  Fantastic odds to win lots of BTCitcoin!  Get in before it's too late!

Just deposited some chips and waiting the transaction to be confirmed. Hope it will be confirmed soon so I can join this nice tournament.

Edit : confirmed already but I cant open the windows client, firstly got error 502 but now only blank black page.  ???

Try using an incognito browser window.  This happens to me if I have stale cache on my browser

Well does not work for me, I'm stuck on this http://imgur.com/D2Shyqc for over than 5minutes, and now its too late to join.

Maybe I need to wait for another tournament, good luck to all players.

I have installed the windows client but I cant register in this tournament because my wallet seems not linked to the client. It shows "you have 0mBTC"...

The late registration is only for 4 levels so 24 minutes from the start of the game so you are a bit late as well. As for rapacious, its too bad that I got transferred to the other table, I was hoping I could beat you, congratulations to whoever beat rapacious

Does this mean there will be more tournament to come again? Its great if we can held this weekly atleast. The turbo game is suitable for the tournament since I dont like playing in slow game

Woot! Glad to hear it was a success. Great job all around to those who set it up and those who participated. I bet the KNockout Bounties added to the fun and excitement.

Looks like the next tourney is next week on a Sunday, which means I should be able to make it. Hopefully it will be just as great if not better.

The knockout bounties is a good variety for the game. I was in the same table with oshimike and try to knock him out suddenly the system moved me to the other table. So its all about luck as well

Let's try it on Sunday  so whoever is in charge of it may evaluate if participation is greater on Sundays or Saturdays.
As already wrote I'm for Sundays.

Maybe a poll could help with this.

I should be good to go Sunday as well. Looking forward to it.

Another possibility depending on what the turnout looks like, might be to alternate between Saturdays and Sundays on a weekly basis. If there are a good amount of players on both Saturdays and Sundays, alternating between the two days would give those who could only play on one of those days a chance to play at least a couple of times a month in this special tourney if this tourney does become a regular thing. But like I said, it would prolly depend on what the turnout is like on each of those particular days.

I would be very interested in this tournament, if only it weren't so early in my timezone.

May I pitch the idea of multiple time zones? Like an Americas tourny and European/Asia tourny.

Maybe with a tourny that covers both, I don't know how well the time zones would work for that...

You can talk with Betcoin about organizing one for your time zone.  I chose this time because it accommodates USA in the afternoon and Europe in the early evening.  I am in the USA so hosting a tournament outside of these times is not easily done for me.

If we can do it 1 or 2 hour earlier would be just great for my timezone as the game will be around 2-3 hours so I wanted it to end quicker to have my dinner on time

Seems like this tournament is having its deserved success, happy to see it.

Just read it will take place every Sunday through December: what about a funny leaderboard with some prices for first  positions (maybe 3 or 5 or better 10 positions)?
Maybe leaderboard points could just be the amount of mBTC won  from payouts (not taking in consideration bounties I mean).
It surely could be an incentive in taking part to next tournaments for people who already joined.

Just my two mBTC

We are actually doing something for the tournament series.  Take a look at the 2nd post in this thread for standings :)

Betcoin has put up 1750 mBTC in prizes for the series.  1000 mBTC for 1st, 500 mBTC for 2nd & 250 mBTC for 3rd.  I just updated the OP with this info!

That is a nice amount to grab. I know the game is in the fast mode however is there a chance to start at the fast mode and the starting chips is 1000 instead? this would end the game faster and save some time imo rather than playing for hours especially sometimes people use stalling tactics

Nice adjustment to push for faster game play. Just one small question this time, will the chips from the reentry goes into the total pot for the winner as well ?or it will not be in the pot?

Could you turn this tournament back into saturday instead? In some parts of the timezone especially mine or asia, 1900 GMT is midnight monday so I cant join due to that I have to work at monday. Im sure changing it back to saturday will cover all the timezone nicely

This will be heavily considered if the turn out is less than the Saturday tourney.  I wanted to try both days to see what was the more popular option.  Thanks for your feedback!

Thanks for playing!  Great job cleaning up house.  I will message Andrew today to make sure your bounties are sent over when he sees my message if you haven't got them already

I have updated the results and standings.

I have received them. Thank you! BitcoinTalk 6 Seat No Limit Showdown should continue :D , very nice tournament structure.

Tournament starts in about 6 hours.  Be sure to signup.  10 registered so far, lots of Bitcoin up for grabs!

Since this is almost saturday so Im waiting for a follow up regarding this, will the next torunament be on saturday or sunday? Personally I would like it to be on saturday however sunday will also do if you can host it earlier few hours than usual time, say 4 hours earlier

Yes! This tournament had some awesome value.  I didn't place in the money because of a pretty bad beat but I did manage to collect a bounty before being knocked out.  So, I paid 11mBTC and walked away with 50mBTC for a 39mBTC profit!  And, I had fun too!  Can't wait for the next one!

Are you guys running the BitcoinTalk 6 Max NL Showdown this weekend?   I didn't see that in the lobby and definitely like the setup of this tournament.

Yes, it's listed. Go to Tournament Lobby > Special > All(or Low) > Scroll down to "BitcoinTalk 6 Max NL Showdown 500 GTD"

1 hour to go but there is only one registered player, where are the other players? I want to register but a bit doubt that this time the tourney will run as the previous tourney. What will happen if there are only less than 6 players registered? I mean about the prize..still guaranteed as before?

Some people prefer to wait until late registration to join.

Hope for another tourney with more friendly starting time for me :)

I'm confused now, so the next tournament in this series will be held on Sunday Dec 6th?  Is there going to be one scheduled for every Sunday thru December 27th?  This tournament has super value....I don't want to miss anymore of them.  I only played in one of them because I keep forgetting to check for it in the schedule.

This was the original plan as you may read in first page of this thread...but for some strange and still unexplained reason they changed it for this week and announced recently that this week tournament will be held on Saturday .....regardless the general consensus discussed here (again on first page of this thread) was on Sunday.

Hope someone from either betcoin.ag and OP will explain more about the reasons of this change as soon as possible.

They are probably basing it on the turnout so far. The first Saturday there were 34 runners. The following week when it was held on Sunday there were only something like 21 players. And the one this last Sunday had around the same or less, I don't recall exactly. So even though many say they will show up on a certain day, it isn't necessarily the case.

A part of it could also be due to a lot of people playing in as many OSS V tournaments and satellites as they can right now. This Sunday will be a big day for that (and Saturday too prolly).

Good feedback guys and great questoins.  The reason it was changed is to assess and see what the highest player volume is for the tournament.  So far the Saturday date had the most registered entrants by far.  Of course, when it's on Saturday, some people say please have it on Sunday and when it's on Sunday other people are upset and want it on Saturday, therefore everyone can't be pleased.  We just want to provide the best opportunity for the most people to play in the tournament.

We appreciate the comments and responses and would like it to be on a set Saturday or Sunday for the rest of December.

Indeed, but at least for some timezone especially Asian Countries if the day change to Saturday means that the tournament will start on Sunday Morning which is a holiday very different with Sunday that will start on Monday Morning which is a work day. So its a big different..

Apologies everyone!  The main post and standings have been updated.  I was out of town and thought I would have internet access but this was not the case.

Thanks hopenotlate for tracking the last tourney and saving the stats.

We are going to try this on Saturday again this time.  Sunday seems to collide with some of the larger tourneys and Saturday has had the best turnout so far.

Sorry OShi but I find something wrong in your math:

 - player SkyHeart won the first tournament (with first five places paid) so he should have 5 leaderboard points instead of the 4 I read here

 - on the other hand player kid4good only went ITM in the first tourney and he placed in 2nd position so he should be awarded only 4 points instead of 5.

But I'm on my phone now...will have a closer look later on

Think I have the Tourney points corrected now (and ordered right), let me know if you still see discrepancies!

Yes, appears to be Sunday, hopenotlate good work keeping up with the standings.  What happened to the OP?  This was a good idea, but it does take some work to upkeep.  Perhaps Betcoin staff should take over the updates.

I guess either Betcoin Staff or OP should.

Not that much of work to upkeep anyway.

If you're a scammer and a cheat like michigan is then Betcoin is perfect.  Even when he does get caught, they let him choose which account he wants to continue playing on.

This is a ss of Betcoin Staff communicating before they realized that "liking" a post made part of it public.
