Title: [[3 BTC Bounty]] I need your help to make GUI work
Post by: BTCBuyer on June 06, 2011, 02:23:28 AM
Hi Folks,

System Specs

MSI 890FXA-G70 Mother Board
1000W Kingwin PSu plus 80
2 x 6950
2 x 5850
Dummy Plugs
Windows 7 32bit

I can get everything to power up, all the fans on all the vid cards are running. Windows will detect all 4 cards, it's in the device manager. I have the newest Catalyst drivers installed. But every time I try to launch GUI Miner, it'll try to load up, but nothing loads up, the ICON will show up on the system tray on the lower right hand side, and that's it. The actual program doesn't show up on my monitor. This is driving me insane... I have a video card that is just idleing... The first person who can get me an answer to this will get 3BTC right away! I look forward to your answers soon. Thanks!

I had the best luck by disabling all auto detection for the monitors, this allowed me to use all video cards in the system without dummy plugs and actually works better.

open the registry and do the following:

Disable Ultips:
 [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class\{4D36E968-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}]
and change "EnableUlps" to 0 under the 0000 and 0001 or 0003 keys.

Disable TMM:
    Open Windows Vista registry editor(regedit)
    Navigate to this location    Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\TMM
    Click UseIViewHelper
Set the value data to 0 to disable TMM feature in Windows Vista.
If you want to re-enable TMM feature, set the value data to 1.
Click OK and reboot you computer

With these you should be set, as an option I also I setup my extra cards to extend the desktop and just set them to 800x600 and placed them in the corners of my main desktop, then you don't even need to bother with the above registry settings. In either case no dummy plugs attached.

It still doesn't work. I have tried everything, formatted the HDD, installed windows 64bit instead, because someone told me that I hit the RAM cap with windows 32bit. Still no go...
