 Well, if you were to look back to my post history. I showed my website, tommorisonwebdesign.com. It was a quick website that I put together as a holding place for my web applications. I was abused and flamed, called a horrible programmer, since I did not use Twitter~s bootstrap.css file every other site uses and it was said I would never be good. Now people are calling me a "whore" for creating a innocent thread on the dangers of gambling. No matter what I do, I'm flamed.

The abuse comes mostly from Hero Members. Spending a lot of time at home in front of a computer apparently means you can insult people online. I am now taking my time developing two websites for my portfolio, but even then I bet I will be called a horrile programmer who iwll never improve. Lots of these flamers write abusive posts and get paid via sig campaigns.

I will admit to uncivil comments myself, but most of the time i am only responding to incivility. It is illogical to give up coding because some jackass says something online. Am I going to stop improving: Fuck no.

As for making posts, I have a rule to write at least four sentences in a reply and a few paragraphs when creating a thread. People stil bitch an whine about me innocently posting and trying to contribute to discussion simply because I have a sig campaign. It's allowed. Personal abuse does not make your point.

So I am now opening up discussion to this unproductive behaviour. Unless you can explain to me how insulting me or my coding skills is at all useful, let me know. I got a thick skin on this forum; I understand a lot of people have no life whatsoever so I really do not care. However, I think there should be a rule against uncivil behaviour.

Could you provide links to the flaming that you've described. I don't want to waste time searching for them. As far as your website is concerned, you should improve it (should help you get more customers) but it's okay if you do not have time. Most people can't even put that together so just ignore the flamers. They're probably jealous because they have zero skills.

Welcome to the internet. Its your decision if you want to respond in kind, but I would advice against it. I sometimes rant, but I usually find out later that its the worst possible way to bring your point across. People are hardly taken seriously when they cover their "arguments" in insults, more commonly they have no arguments at all, hence the insults.

Everybody has their own opinion. Some hide it and others show it. It's your decision on how to respond them - if you take the opinion as a suggestion and thank him for that, everything would work in a friendly way. However if you flame him back, you will probably start a fight.

You got that right. The internet can bring out the worst in people and often does. Be careful what you type and have a thick skin is the only recourse.

Or you can post once, get your reply, then delete your post  ;D

The internet is s place full of meanies. Block buttons are there for a reason. So are the report the a moderator ones.

I personally am sick of flamers, so I understand.

Well if it were up to me I'd delete that post. It has no value and the point of the post is solely insulting someone. It really depends on who's handling the situations and if you don't care about report accuracy then you can give it a try. Report that post with the proper comment and it might be deleted.

There's also this. Most people completely change their behavior patterns because they're behind a wall of anonymity. If that wall were to crack or break they'd start behaving differently. You can either ignore it (ignoring users, or start a self moderated thread) or "deal with it".

So my advice still stands. You should close this thread and start a new self moderated one in order to avoid this in the future (you can simply delete their posts). Also I suggest that you give your website a refresh. It might be looking good to you but it might not to potential customers (and fix that Warning: mysqli_connect(): on top of the website).
