Okay, I figured it out after pondering for over a minute as to why the obvious answer isn't Lulu. To prove that I truly did figure it sans Google and scrolling past the OP, the father is a/the bus driver, assuming you're familiar with that riddle based on the same theme.

Lol this riddle is much harder when you don't have the words to read in front of you. There is just something about having to mentally envision it rather than seeing it written on paper. Just my opinion.
