Title: Alternative life for our FPGA hardware
Post by: bartolo2 on December 02, 2015, 10:39:45 PM
Hey guys!

I'm developing (well actually I already have bitstreams and client app ready) an FPGA solution for some well known bruteforcing attacks.
So far I've implemented hashing bruteforcers (md5 and sha1) but also WPA wifi bruteforce (not dictionary sorry).

I'm testing my hardware and software. I know that nowadays a big GPU such as Nvidia Titan can easily beat FPGAs on some applications, but since we already own the hardware it's just some new repurposing. Just some figures: for default passwords in wifis here in the UK, I've estimated around a week effort to crack a handshake using a couple cairnsmore1 boards (it's a pretty "small" keyspace, but still takes roughly the same time in 600$ GPUs).

Is it cool? If interested drop a message ;)
