Title: Is there a discussion thread on known scammers?
Post by: CoinTasker on December 20, 2015, 12:15:25 AM
I am curious if there is a discussion thread specifically outing known scammers. I recently started a couple web apps and had .2 BTC stolen from me. I have the users email address, and some online research has lead me to be fairly certain of who the individual is. There is tons of information online about him scamming others with bitcoin related ponzi schemes, and if there was a place dedicated to this discussion I would be happy to provide info to prevent others from having the same fate.

Take a look at the "Scam Accusations" section. (In trading discussion)

Yes, OP, take a look at it but also open up a new thread, which will be your scam accusation.  Be prepared to produce all the evidence you have, and the folks around here are severe skeptics when it comes to this.  Sorry you got taken.

Thanks guys. At the end of the day, the mistake was my own and I take responsibility for it. Since I have the email address of the bitcoin wallet that stole my funds, and because doing a quick Google search of that email address brings up a plethora of other people accusing a number of websites attached to that email being scams, I feel it may be important to let others know.

I will also probably email the guy and ask for him to kindly return them, but I don't see that doing much good. Generally speaking, if someone is going to take advantage of you in the first place, they probably aren't going to try to make amends.

Well... Although you made the mistake it wasn't your fault. Nobody deserves to get scammed.

To be honest, it wasn't so much of a scam as it was just someone with bad intentions. It was my fault for creating a web app with a security flaw, and someone finding it and taking advantage of it to take everything from my wallet. At the end of the day it's expected, and I should've done more thorough testing on my app before making it live. So I do blame myself. But it doesn't change the fact that this individual was looking for this kind of security flaw so that he could steal bitcoins.

You can move this thread there, change its title and add details (as it doesn't belong in 'Service Discussion' section in the first place) or close this one and make another with a [Warning] in the title and then you can describe how you were scammed, with proofs and it will protect others and prevent them from making the same mistake which you did.

I think you have already discussed it in this thread to some extent, so I would suggest just scroll down and you'll see the option of moving it to the other section, move it and add details+proofs in the OP.

Good luck on getting your money back. As people already mentioned just open a new accusation in Scam Accusations.

I think the guy he really has an intend to do that and because there is no dispute on bitcoin there is no way you can recover that but you need to blog that or post it on other forum so other developer can take heed about this misfortune but before posting about the guy you need to give a solid evidence that he really stole your bitcoin
