Hello everyone , i was doing a trade with a guy for MY BTC and for his pm , and he chose escrow master-p who is a well known here , i sent 1 btc to his escrow account , and he confirmed he received and then the person who was gonna send me PM got offline , after some time i asked for refund , but master-p said wait for a few hours he might have issues , but after a long time he sent msg that he want to do it and he got offline , i asked for refund again and then master-p said his pc crashed and database got corrupted and he reindexing his blockchain :( which seems very fishy , COuld someone help me please , my 1 btc is in his account :(

How could it be? A professional escrow got Bitcoin wallet corrupted in the process of escrow! If op received the products, he is still facing this issue! It is really affecting his reputation! IMO if master-p has backup Bitcoin, he should refund the BTC to the sender asap!

He says it might take a few hours or might be more :( it makes me feel worried , coz he is well reputed thats why i posted here to get help :( so he can sort out his issue and pay my btc but how it can corrupted :(

why don't you just wait?Master-P is a trusted member here, so just have a little patience...

When the reindexing is done, you will get your money back...

i am not saying he is a scammer either , i posted here because i got worried , and also to get some help so he can get his wallet reindexed but its the first time i heard this issue when a pc crashed , database got corrupted :( thats what made me post here.

Give him some time I'm sure this will get sorted out soon.

I've dealt with master-p for a few years here on the forums and I don't believe he's a scammer. Seemed honorable to me always.

Always make sure you have backups of your private keys somewhere folks... if your wallet goes down or crashes at the very least you can still access and move your coins with the privkey.

yes he seems to be a nice person but was wondering if someone could help him get this sorted. but lets see and wait , and i will be posting an update when he refunds me my 1 btc.

He is another anonymous person who done some succesfull trades before but it doesnt mean he couldnt run away now!

Escrow is the same dangerous as sending first!
Not a first time escrow provider runs with the money.

All these "reputable forum escrow" are anonymous people. Who knows who they are and where are they from.

I will give him some time , as he seems to be a good person bro, he is reindexing his blockchain and if everything goes fine i will update.

Just my 2 cents, but Mastet-p is for sure not a scammer his account is worth more than this i think

Calm down man, everyone faces technical glitches and you're right, Forum-escrows are anonymous members of whom we know nothing about but they're still more trusted than newbies who haven't traded or spent time on this forum.

If you're trading online, you're going to have to trust someone, either that would be mediator or you trust the person you're dealing with directly. It's up to you who you choose to trust.

Let's just wait before blowing this thing out of proportion.

I would not worry about master-p eventually releasing the funds held in escrow. He has released >1BTC many times in the past and I would find it unlikely that he is going to pull a runner over such a small amount.

The problem that master-p is describing is a problem that can happen with armory and I believe that master-p has publicly said that he uses armory in the past. While it is possible to backup your private keys/wallet, it is really not realistic to expect someone to maintain backups of the blockchain because a) it is so large, and b) it is trivial (although time consuming) to re-download the blockchain if necessary. 

He is currently holding ~2 BTC in escrow for E-coin campaign and 1+ BTC for seperate campaigns, and has always released payments in time. I wouldn't worry much about him not refunding you.

In this case such delay only serves to be more cautious especially in the case that sometimes time is pressing fortunately is not the case.

Remember it is Sunday and depending where he lives it could be the middle of the night or family time also he could still be trying to fix his pc and / or wallet. I honestly think you have nothing to worry about although I can understand your concern.

Cryptosun, you don't need to worry about master-P, he is one of the escrows i suggest and i trust him alot. Of course you have wrote with the real master-P, right? You did not get a warning for him being a newbie? I ask this because it is unfortunately pretty common that scammer try to register usernames that sound similar to established escrows.

If he was the real one then i would not fear. It seems he is using bitcoin core and unfortunately that software is pretty well know for it's instability for the blockchain. It's really a pity that developers were not able to make this better all this time. Since it really takes a lot of time to download the blockchain again. Only when that happened he can see your bitcoins again and send them again.

I know he will try to protect his reputation so as far as my impression of him is i would say you should not be in fear. I'm sure at the end you will be pleased.

By the way, And meanwhile as you are waiting  for a refund you could to have mentioned the guy that simply did not fulfill the other part of your treatment and only got offline, You know perhaps him later come online and try to do the same with another member. Are you exchanging Alts/Btc both?

Yeah so something is wrong with my PC. I apologize sincerely to cryptosun for causing this unecessary and unexpectedly delay in returning his funds. Something was causing my PC to BSOD last night, so it crashed while my Armory was still left open and this forced me to have to reindex the blockchain after the reboot. Meanwhile I was also trying to find out what was causing my PC To crash, turns out it's something to do with a RAID array on my PC. However, no worries as the wallet and the coins are safe. Once I've reindexed the blockchain which takes about 12 hours for me, I  will be able to return the coins to cryptosun.

Edit: Just an update, I'm about 7 weeks behind so the reindexing is almost done. I'd say another hour or so then I can return the funds to cryptosun.

Whether he is screwing you over or not, there is nothing you can do other than wait.  He is a good guy, although he username is a little off, lol.  If you sent the money, it is sent, that is the long and the short of it.
