Title: Need loan 1 BTC or PPUSD equivalent [FULFILLED]
Post by: Ploni on December 11, 2012, 05:31:29 PM
I bought an item on ebay that I'm a little short on.  With this item, I'll be able to eek out a meager existence on the micro job site fiverr.  I will pay back in full with interest by the 10th of January.  I have earned some trust on OTC and trust is important to me:
http://bitcoin-otc.com/viewratingdetail.php?nick=Ploni&sign=ANY&type=RECV  Please help me out if you can.  Thanks.

Can you link your bitcoin-otc and sign "today is Dec 11, 2012 this is Ploni's Bitcoin-OTC" with the key?

PGP signing.

When your done, I will wait into someone on the forum confirms it.

I am atm studying PGP through http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FJDabu_3QCk
As I don't know how to use it. We all have to start from somewhere.
After I figure it out, I'll tell you if its right or wrong.
I am a fast learner  :)

Already got ploni, from OTC, it says *****
Though when I import the above, they both do not agree.
Or It says no keys found.

Maybe I am doing something wrong.

Anyone can get that. Its on PGP public, anyone on bitcointalk.org can use the key and find out your email though.
I edited it out however.

Well then, can't you obviously see that that is a good signature?  I signed it with my private key and with that, you got my public key.  So what's the problem ?

Title: Re: Need loan 1 BTC or PPUSD equivalent
Post by: lightlord on December 11, 2012, 06:57:26 PM
I got them off http://pool.sks-keyservers.net:11371/pks/lookup?op=get&search=0xB6F87AC521383230

The text I pasted above you sent me, made no difference.
If I didn't touch it what so ever, It would of made no difference.
I used the public first without touching the other.

I was expecting after using the public key, your pgp code I then imported after would
above would confirm with the public and say the dec 11 2012 dated, in text. that you signed.

Yours don't have that text, as I can see with the other user.

It should display on the net *today is Dec 11, 2012 this is Ploni's Bitcoin-OTC*
Doesn't show on the site.

As I said I learn quickly  :)

Lightlord, I checked the signature on the message by using Ploni's GPG key from OTC and it checks out:

gpg: Signature made Tue Dec 11 12:43:46 2012 EST using RSA key ID 21383230
gpg: Good signature from "Ploni (MyKey) <xxxx@xxxx.net>"
gpg: WARNING: This key is not certified with a trusted signature!
gpg:          There is no indication that the signature belongs to the owner.
Primary key fingerprint: 58D5 CE1E 9B78 6081 FBC0  A2B9 B6F8 7AC5 2138 3230

I can lend you the 1 BTC @ 2% per week. Repay 1.08 BTC by Jan 10th to 1AWHyzzpT523Fc2nguw24FUNwx5Mp5mesq. If you agree, please post an address to send the BTC to.

@Lightlord: The other guy made a mistake and accidentally added another userid to his public key instead of signing a message. Took me a little while to figure out what he did wrong though. That's why you can see the message on the key server for him.

I bought an item on ebay that I'm a little short on.

i'm just curious how obtaining a bitcoin helps with that ... do you cash it out to paypal and use that for payment?

Ploni seems reputable, but I wonder if he ever heard of a credit card?

What prompted you to ask that?  If you must know, I have bad credit in the real world but one of the things I love about the way this BTC community is built is its WOP system which gives anyone the opportunity to rebuild 'Trust' where credit may be lacking.

Yes, it is why I asked for 1BTC or PPUSD equivalent...I know a nice guy who will swap at spot even that little amount for PPUSD.  Knowing that this community is 'richer' in BTC, it is easier to get BTC first.

Watching. He has sold me btc twice for PayPal (fairly sure this 1 btc actually ended up with me)

I should have at least an email address in my PayPal history I'll pass on if this doesn't get sorted out or you don't get in touch soon

Edit: his address 1BBy3CYJSeqccw5BpuWsxXnWT7vM87K3hZ it did indeed go to me

Looks like he has so far gathered .6 btc not quite the full loan amount+interest

Thanks. I've sent a PM a day or two ago and there is no answer yet... either he's on vacation or dodging the loan. I'd appreciate a nudge toward this thread if you can arrange for that.

Did the payment ever occurred? I checked his profile still not active since dec.
Well If someone died during the loaning process, the person would never be
able to pay you back. Who knows what happened?

Nope, never repaid. According to OTC, he also defaulted on a 10BTC loan to someone else a month later.
