Why price continue to go down? There are some notice ? It has lost any technical support? What happen? I'm not have idea about! Someone could explain the situation?

Yesterday is Christmas, and 4 days ahead is New Year. People need money, so they sell their Bitcoin. Which makes the price going down, that's why you have to HODL :D

Looks like it may have stabalised now anyway, it may be on the way back up. If your a holder it doesnt really matter anyway. it will inevitably go back up  at some point, and then back down and then up again =p

Yeah a lot of markets even the stock market tend to go down around this time of year. It also could be
companies that are accepting bitcoin turning it into cash. Unfortunately they have to pay their bills with
fiat which could cause some selling.

It's perfectly normal in this time of the year since many dump in ways of exchanging their Bitcoins with the use of online exchanges therefor by doing this, they convert in a bit lesser amount each time and that makes the price go down a bit but no worries as it surely goes up right away when this week is finish and it might possibly go even higher than it used to stay.

I'm afraid it return under 400 soon!

If antone knew exactally why the price of bitcoin went up and down they would be worth a fortune,  i would have a good guess that people at this time of the year have other things to purchase.  ;)

If you see charts of bitcoin price from previous years, you can see similarities. Bitcoin price in December was always really high.
In January we usually had huge collapse of market and price went down to be low for first quarter of a year. Nothing unusual here.

Don't worry sir, I believe it won't go there anymore. As long as you hodl your Bitcoins ;) (at least, don't spend it too much)

A few $ can be NY effect, over $30 down withing 1 hour, that s pure speculation and profit taking. Chinese exchnages re playing the market cause BTC price s not sufficiently high enough to prevent players to move the price. This is how new markets are being formulated, I ve seen that many times and it ll pass once BTC hits about 15-20 billion market cap.

I don't think it will go under $400 because this rise with more solid growth so that it will stay above $400 this time current fall cause of new year and people selling to get some money to celebrate there.

yeah i think you are right on this one it will not matter after the halfing it will go up again and more soi think this is an apportunity to buy before it's go up again

Could be christmas like others have stated or could just be a normal
pullback. I mean it didnt drop that much. This thread scared me and
had to run to btc-e lol. I thought we dropped to like 300 while opening
christmas gifts hahah

i was also surprised when I saw the price, and was forced to delay the transaction i would do, and also forced to cancel my intention to sell bitcoin, this probably not a good Christmas for bitcoin price, hopefully tomorrow the price is back to normal and to the moon ;D

i agree with you, and it made me happy, because with that sentence we can conclude that people are using bitcoins and this is a good news.
Btw don't worry so much about the Price it will raise soon. ( i hope )

because previously price did rise without any real reason behind. it it just game + people need money during end of the year..

Also, it is possible that some overbought before Christmas expecting a Christmas pump that has not been so high, then they sell in part also for the money needed for new year.

Simple, because there are some sell wall, so the price is go down.

I think people need Christmas gift, so they sell their coin for fiat.

because 400-500 range was not stable in any way, there is not enough demand there to sustain that value, it simple as that, 300-400 is more stable because of the opposite reason

We are going to see 300-400 before the end of 2015. We are also going to revisit 150 in January 2016. Good news comes in late Feb, early March.

Why? Because the real price is around $50 at best.. when there is no fake pumping going on the price will lean towards that.

It's highly unlikely to meet $150 in January. Why bother acting so bullish about February and March if you state that the price is going to meet such a low amount? At that point, something catastrophic must have happened. I doubt that people are going to dump to that level, unless pretty much everyone panic sells in the heat of the moment, which would only drive bitcoin away. It will take a lot of money and demand to revitalize it.

Like the others say this is likely some normal after xmas sale, which could be a good opportunity to pickup some btc before things begin to rise or go through another cycle of pumping.

I do not know, but I just predict, it is likely due to market deserted and many people sell bitcoin to go on holiday.

Last December it went down too but at January it went back up.
So people just need money for xmas.

Not sure why the price is going down, but I have managed to buy 1 Bitcoin at $410, and I am quite happy with it. Wanted to buy at bit more, but it's better to wait now.

he is right. btc is now more or less investment, not some tool with real usage..is so hard to admit it?

Chinese rates are lower, it is obviously manipulated by whales on Chinese Exchanges

we will see whan China wake up,If thay will see that like  a opportunity and buy,everything is ok
But if thay will sell,than very important support level is 380$

i didn't look at the price for nearly a full day, and now i see the price was dumped to the ground in a matter of hours. this has to be manipulation. happy to see that it didn't dive under $400. that's the only good thing.

Could be just a lot of people covering to cash after Xmas,  or maybe even panic selling.  Its not the worst of dumps we've ever seen,  quite mild actually.

if you're going to orchestrate a dump to levels you want to buy at and sell near the top, then do it over a period people can't get decent money onto exchanges ie: now

manipulation is all it is, minnows like us can do nothing, bitcoin is owned by whales. when it eventually goes to the levels we want to see it will not be on your terms, it will be on theirs

whales don't need cash for christmas and people that do own negligible amount of bitcoin, like you and me, and I wouldn't sell anyway, and what get it in new year?

Perhaps for now there is not much movement of Bitcoins in the market, others are still buying Bitcoins but not enough to make such an impact to effect the current exchange rate of Bitcoins. This also happened last year, but not this early. Downtrend started after New Year.

Don’t know How much your prediction will work in upcoming days But Price is continuesly going down. Yesterday itself It falls more than 20$ for 1 bitcoin. As you said bitcoin rate will go back to 300$ to 400$ again. Will hope and the chart.:(

Too bad but I think it's gonna go that way too. The price is playing around $410 to $430 as of the moment and looking at the markets it's not gonna rise up soon.

It's just a small correlation with markets...we will see a fast pump to 550dollars soon  :-\  

 Because there was never any REAL support at the $400+ level, just a short-term bump due to the Chineese exchanges suddenly being able to take Fiat currency again and a massive influx of "new money" as a result.

 I'm more than a little supprised the price is still as HIGH as it is.


 I still expect to see $300 again sometime, though I'm starting to wonder if it'll take 2-3 more months.

I personally think that the current price has the sufficient room to drop to the $400 level, and even $350, but no lower. Then it will continue growing up to $450-500 range, keeping this range for several weeks or even months before the next pump to the $800 level.

No one here can tell you what will happen. It looks like a good opportunity to buy yourself some extra coins before it goes up again. It might go down, yes, but I don't expect a price below $400.

I expect that it will go below 375$ but not below 350$

The bigger buyers pumped it. Smaller buyers thought it was going to keep rising and jumped on the bandwagon. Now the bigger buyers are dumping and took their profit. Profit that comes from you buying.
Now it will fall again and it wont stop falling for 10 months or so.

Exactly this. If you're not going to use bitcoin for now, best thing to do is to just hold.
Eventually bitcoin will rise up again sooner or later. You should especially hold if you are going to be invested into bitcoin for a long time.

In my opinion whales want to go alone up, they do some big sells to frighten small fish and go up alone, remember profits of some are the losses of many

Because it's the holidays and people like to spend fiat on their family. It's the holiday season so I'm not surprised at all to see the price drop.
I believe the price will go up as soon as it went down though.

I read in article as bitcoin is falling is not that much affect the upcoming year. Due to festival time people exchanging bitcoin lot after the first week January we can see a good value for bitcoin I think. If its go that’s even good for me too dude.

i think that the main thing that happened for such a price drop was the fact that people sold a lot of bitcoins as they needed money for their shoppings before or on christmas i think it wont last long and it will go back really fast lets hope this will happen

Bitcoin is designed to have a different value during the time, but for now i think people are in holidays and don't have much time to spent time in bitcoin.

It's about 3M? The 3M crash causes a lot of selling orders on the market to withdraw from the mess.

Did you see how much the price went down? Can't be due to people who are buying Christmas gifts. What gifts are they giving, cars? It's simply manipulation by wealthy traders. Not because people are selling to buy stuff.

I don't think people will buy christmas presents with bitcoin on the second day of christmas. They would never have their presents in house :S
Buying presents of NYE could be, but i think the real reason was some big whales selling their coins.

That was a fall by any standards. $40 within a few hours.
There can be many reasons but the most likely is someone who helped the price along last few weeks wanted to cashout more than people wanted to buy which obviously gave us the drop. It has gone kind of steady at $420's but guess we'll see what its to be.
