Downloaded BTC client (it's still synching after many many hours..) and encrypted it right away. The thing is that even after I reboot my pc I simply double clic on the wallet a could (if I had BTC) send BTC right away ??? Wich means that any1 could go in my basement, enter their BTC adress and voila ??? or some1 hack into my pc and do the same >:( What good is it to encrypt it then :-[ Surely something I don't get :-\ Regards Title: Re: BTC client protection Post by: Gabi on December 13, 2012, 08:27:13 PM Maybe english is not his first language? Oh, and yes, english is actually my third language. I obviously can't write it 100% correctly but to reassure you, qweedo, I know enough of it to read books (and forum posts), watch movies and so on without any problem. I must admit that I wrote my previous post a bit to quickly for my talent tho (though?). Now, as far as this : No if it is encrypted they would have to enter in a password before sending the coins. ALSO CAN YOU LEARN TO SPEAK ENGLISH! and this : "No when you use a "1" and hundred smiley faces, then i don't care if english is your 1st or 101st language." are concerned...I could easilly have a lot to say about it but since I'm a grown up and have at least minimal good manners I'll refrain myself of yelling @ you. After all, I don't know if smileys are frowned upon in this community but I'll learn the ropes rather quickly don't worry. Until then, maybe I could drop a line to site admin or something asking them to disable smileys altogether since it seems to make some random "Hero member" of the community shout at newcomers in the newby part of the forum. Most people don't really care -- certainly not enough to complain.
I find it ironic that gweedo used caps in his post, which is more annoying than anything you wrote. You can get around having to sync by using a "lite" client such as Electrum (http://www.electrum-desktop.com), which is much closer to a zero-trust-friendly system than a conventional online wallet, while getting around the resource and time requirements of the "official" Bitcoin client)
