Title: [WTS] [SELL] Any Electronics Device ■Disassembled to bypass foreign custom fees■
Post by: box0214 on December 29, 2015, 06:26:36 AM
I just thought up of this as I had a previous customer that did this. Not sure if anyone else would be up for it. I run a electronics repair shop and one of my customers wanted to buy a bunch of iPhone 6's to ship back to his country in the Bahamas. He said the fees on importing these devices are ridiculously high, which is why it sells for such a high premium in these types of countries. What he requested me to do was have them disassembled piece by piece and ship the casings and everything else separately. So it would not be qualified as an "electronic" device anymore and just seen as scrap parts or just repair parts. Which is a lower import tax for them. The only issue is that someone on the other end has to reassemble them back.

I run a repair shop and can disassemble anything and can ship to anywhere.

PM me if your interested in this setup. I know there are many foreigners here so it might be worthwhile for someone or someone you know to do this for profit. As for reassembly, I can easily walk you through putting it back on the other end.

I would only work with BTC in this setup. As for my trust and rep, I can prove it through my shop and Bitcoin contributions.

I think the cost of dismantle and reassemble would out weigh the cost of tax, it sounds crazy? I don't see how this could be profitable when you take into the chance of lost in transit and damaged parts

i can do it for any electronic device, but my main specialty is video game systems (playstation 4, ps3, wii u, xbox one, 3ds, etc...) I can do phones aswell if needed. i know many of the new phones go for a high premium in other countries so it might be worthwhile for some people. someone suggested big LCD monitors, crunch the profit numbers to see if its worth it first.

as for disassembly and reassembly, it shouldn't be an issue. most devices can be taken apart into its pieces in less than 1 hour.

Say its a VAT 30% tax on electronics. Unless the item is less than a certain amount its not worth it. I'm estimating I should be making about $30-$50 per unit and the buyer should be able to make $100+ depending on their location. The buyer definitely has more risk as they are holding the inventory, hence a better return.

obviously this is something new to try out and I dont mind doing a few pieces in the beginning to test out the waters with people.

in order for me to work with you, you'd have to crunch the numbers on your side to see if its even a worthwhile project or not. i'm not here to make a quick $100 and neither should anyone else. I'm aiming for a longterm relationship if things work out.

as for lost in transit, its best to go with the pricey carriers vs going regular mail of course. DHL or Fedex I'd assume would be pretty reliable for international shipping. And I think they have insurance on these things already.

if you or anyone else that you know that lives in another non-developed nation, its a very high chance electronic items sell for a high premium.

i can. but how much are the drones? if its cheap 100-200. not sure if its worth it for you.

say its $100 for the drone.

$100 - drone
$50 - seller disassembly fee
$20 - buyer reassemble fee (assuming you hire someone for $10/hr for 2 hours)
---------------
Total cost: $170

You'd have to be able to sell this for at least $250+ or its not worth it for you to even try it.

thats why its only worthwhile on expensive items and you price in these factors into the cost of selling the item. it depends on the premium that someone can sell for in their country.
