Title: Potential Activity
Post by: knightkon on December 30, 2015, 03:19:26 PM
I am not a newbie, but I figured this would be the best place to put this question.  I have searched around and found a bunch of dead sites and sites charging to do this, but how do you calculate the potential activity of an account.  I seen some people on here try to explain it, but their explanations do not add up when it comes to actually doing the calculations yourself.  Can someone please give me a formula to make this calculation.

The forum gives 1 activity point for each post, but it limits the maximum to 14 points for each 2 week period that you make at least one post (and 0 points for any 2 week period that doesn't include at least one post).

Therefore, you should count the number of 2 week periods that have at least 1 post and multiply your count by 14.  The result is the potential activity that the userID could have if it had enough posts.

So if I am understanding you correctly, taking my account as an example, I am at the max potential activity I could have?  I tried to use a number of these calculators that tell me, but they either do not work or they are not there any longer.

Thank you, I think that was the answer I was looking for, but I think I was asking the question wrong.  I also found that thread and the links there go nowhere.  I thank you for the information and taking your time to search for me.

Have you tried visitorsbit.com? It's free and reliable.

And I'm pretty sure you are at your max potential since your activity is no longer updating.

Your potential activity is currently 140. Since you already have 140 activity, posting more won't increase it.

Simply put, for every 2 weeks you've made at least one relevant post, your potential activity increases by 14.

OP your answer has been given.  However, it's always been unclear to me why the activity statistic even exists.  I've never seen anything like it on other forums, and potential activity is another baffling thing.

I suppose it's a unique measure to prevent spammers from having a high activity score

I like the activity status because it lets you know more about a user,  2 different people could have the same amount of posts but one is a scammer who just made the account today and the other been here for years. With activity we can see that.

Basically just remember this : No matter what, you can have only a maximum of 14 activity per two weeks. Now that's about your actual activity .

Now you have a made a new account which has activity 0: You made 14 posts the first day or consider for 2 weeks ,now your current activity becomes 14 ,since you weeks are done and you already have 14 posts .Now assume you never touch this account for 10 more weeks which gives rise to your Potential Activity .Calculating it you will have exactly 14*5 that is 14 activity for 2 weeks and for 5 weeks it would be 70.But since you have made only 14 posts ,you would have the extra activity to be done that is make 70 more posts to get your current activity to 70 (since 70 is your potential )

Well, I've actually never seen such a thing quite like "Potential activity" before on any other forums... All they count is posts and stuff like that.

However check your potential activity at either a) Visitorsbit.com b) Bitcoinrates.in or c) Bitcointalk account pricer.

You unlock 14 potential activity if you post at least once a fortnight. You can post as many times as times as you want, but you can only get a maximum of 14 activity per fortnight. Pretty much just post once a fortnight and you are good. You see a lot of people selling potential activity accounts, that's how they do it.

If you want to know the potential activity of an account, you can use this website: http://www.bitcoinrates.in/bitcointalk/getactivity.php?token=1447928485e5ec657549
The only problem with it, is that you have to make a key which costs 100k satoshis. Otherwise you won't be able to view the potential activity.
