Title: Recovering account
Post by: laurita on December 31, 2015, 07:48:44 AM
Hi guys,

I've changed mail and pass to account BTT, https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=505230 few days ago. But my computer hand up before save the new credentials.

Where should I write to recover access to my account? I can sign a message with any text from the address in the profile, from the address in the signature campaign and even from an address from an old posts.

Thank you!

PM Theymos with this:
[1]
Code:
-----BEGIN BITCOIN SIGNED MESSAGE-----
My account <account> has been hacked/lost. Please reset the email to <email>. The current date is <date>.
-----BEGIN SIGNATURE-----
<insert address here>
<insert signature here>
-----END BITCOIN SIGNED MESSAGE-----

Here is the unedited post where I posted that address: ...
OR
I sent that address to someone in a PM with PM ID#...

Delete the lines accordingly. However, I believe that it can take sometime.

You will need an unedited post.

Many people misunderstand or don't understand what an unedited post is:
There is no way for members to see if the post is unedited directly through the forum system. However a quote from another (trusted)member will guarantee that the post hasn't been edited.
So your bitcoin address needs to quoted by someone that is trusted or has at least some reputation on this forum to proof that it's unedited. Many people use this thread to stake their address: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=996318.0
