Putin's new internet advisor: Tech innovation is the “new oil”
German Klimenko was appointed Advisor on the Internet to the President of Russia on 4 January. In his first interview for the Russian media he expressed a positive view on the new internet technologies and their integration with the country’s economics and financial system.

It is much better than oil. It is not subject to maniac actions by Middle Eastern monarchs.
But this guy seems to be pushing for increased adoption of electronic rouble. That won't help much.

It is much better than oil. It is not subject to maniac actions by Middle Eastern monarchs.
But this guy seems to be pushing for increased adoption of electronic rouble. That won't help much.

The electronic rouble will devalue year after year. So it does not help the Russian economy at all.

All fiat currencies will end up losing their value year after year. Being digital doesn't matter that much in this case.

If Russia adopts bitcoin into its recognised currency and encourage its usage, Russian economy will grow quickly.
