Title: [~100 GH/s] x8s.de SSL/API/LP/Low Stale/8decimals/cookies
Post by: redhatzero on June 08, 2011, 01:42:32 AM
Hi,

The x8s pool (http://btc.x8s.de (http://btc.x8s.de)) now exists for a couple of weeks and we've reached a nice hashrate during this time. Although we're still a small pool, I think we don't have to hide :)

Short Info:
  • multiple servers for better stability
  • Worker monitoring (email alerts)
  • Hashrate graphs
  • Proportional Share with 1% Fee
  • Longpoll
  • Twitter updates for "Block found" and "Payment ready"
  • SSL
  • API (json)
  • Achievement System is in early alpha stage
  • Userbar
  • IRC Channel
  • 8 decimals for payout

Hi,

I'm currently working on a new pool. The basic things are done, but there's still some work to do.
But anyways, since I don't want to develop stuff in the wrong direction (because I'm looking at the pool through my red sunglasses of developer love...) I've decided to make a little announcment and hopefully gather some feedback what's missing, what could be improved or even what you like...

So, if you have some spare time: have a look at http://x8s.de , maybe sign up, maybe do some mining... and then, please tell me what you think  ::)

Thanks

did you buy a script, is this with opensource software, or did you code it yourself?

It's a self coded frontend in Symfony to pushpool.

Just wanted to Post an update:

I've added a couple of more stats in the meantime & some nice graphs :)
And currently we're running at ~>3GHash/s

It's growing =)

This pool works great, no idles and very few stale/invalid shares compared to the other bigger pools. It just needs some more hashing-power ;)

I totally agree - works very stable with only few stale/invalid shares.
Raising hashing speed would be nice - feel free to join some workers that we find your first block soon.
Very nice frontend and stats.

nice and simple  :)
low fee is very interesting. are you also keep the blocks'  fees?
i am expecting a pool (with a low fee) that will share the whole block (plus fees i mean) ;)

moreover i don't think that workers' password is useful at all.
any anti-dDos measures?

also don't forget to add email confirmation in order to confirm a Bitcoin Address changing ;)

I'm trying to find the reason for that,

root@Debian-60-squeeze-64-minimal ~/.bitcoin # bitcoind getaccountaddress ""
14PpHrA6rnJgvo4jRgV8AuDHvidVcFYXYZ

root@Debian-60-squeeze-64-minimal ~/.bitcoin # bitcoind listtransactions
[
]

http://blockexplorer.com/address/14PpHrA6rnJgvo4jRgV8AuDHvidVcFYXYZ

Pushpool thought that it was a valid block... but it doesn't show up anywhere :(

Little update:

The Block showed up a couple of hours later, everyone should have gotten his share :) (Because of the hickup with that block, it was a 0% Fee Round..)

So: GZ TO OUR FIRST BLOCK :)

A little update:
We found 10 blocks in the meantime :)
Last weekend i've moved to a bigger server, and we're running now with ~60GHash.
Also Kiv was so nice to include us in the GUIMiner :)

dem0noid: i'll release an update so that timeago is only enabled if you have selected german in a couple of minutes

Now's the time for everyone to join the new round and give the pool a try =)

Congrats on your pool, do you have a pool stats api? Also do you use proportional or PPS? Thanks!

Congrats on your pool, do you have a pool stats api? Also do you use proportional or PPS? Thanks!

You found my weakness: keeping the FAQs up to date... currently there's only a per user api (or better.. the usual json stuff with hashrate + balance) but I might release a global pool json api in the next hours.

Currently I'm only offering a proportional payout with 1% fee

about getting stickied, the hashrate is a little bit volatile, if there's a good buffer (like ~30Ghash) between x8s and the last top10 pool I'll give it a try to get stickied :)

And today is really a lucky day :) 4 Blocks in the last 24h! yay! :)

I'm very impressed - very lucky pool so far in that for 3 days straight, I'm averaging almost 1BTC per day at 1100MHash/sec :)

server update: stales are less then 0.3% (for me and others 0 stales for over 2000 valid shares)

Post by: redhatzero on July 12, 2011, 10:49:18 AM
after we had some luck in the previous today, the last block was with 4,7Mio Shares a real monster, but we've finished him ^^

So, new round started :)

And I've finally implemented automatic payout last night

Title: Re: [~130 GH/s] x8s.de

yes he had. And some more nice features for stats. Also a loadbalancing is in work (now you can choose between 3 Servers) and stale rate is nearly 0 (1 stale for 10000 shares > 0,01%)

Basically you just need a (json) array with all the blocknumbers found by the pool, don't you?

I've also added a mini pool stats json with the #Workers and Hashrate:
http://btc.x8s.de/api/global.json

Edit:
http://btc.x8s.de/api/blocks.json for the pool blocks

Is your pool now PPLNS?  You tweeted that you were going to switch it over, but you didn't post anything here.  Your site still says proportional . . .

According to the german forums, it's PPLNS. Also says so on the "Balance" page.

Hi, I'm sorry to announce that I've decided to close down the pool. I didn't want to announce it earlier, to prevent the current round from taking forever.

I wrote an detailed post in the German section of the board, so I'm sorry that I'll write here only a shorter notice.
Basically the main reason is, that I have to less time for getting the pool where I want it to be :( (Also the legal situation in Germany is quite unclear and maybe that the competition is too strong? =) )

The few shares that made it into Round 32 will be accounted with PPS, the pool website will be up for a couple of weeks so that everyone has time to withdraw their funds (for the cases where I can't send the money because there's no payout address in the profile etc)

Thanks for all the users that made the pool what it was. I really enjoyed building up the pool with you, but now it's time for me to move on :(

Sorry to hear, afaik you'll be the first "larger" pool to shut down.
If you want to, we could maybe arrange something between our pools - I'd gladly help with taking over existing miners (and accounts).

Send me a PM if that's interesting :)

Regards, Jim

Your payout is in the block chain, so technically you have it in your wallet. Make sure the number displayed in the lower right corner of your bitcoin client is at  least 137670, it will show up then. And another 0.017BTC as well a few blocks later (137702).

is there a minimum payout you'll be making? Or will all amounts be paid out? I only have 0.05 coin owing, so just wondering.

Minimum is probably 0.01. I paid out a few cents and it worked.
