It's funny how many times it has been declared dead... Seems the media/banks don't want US to be in control of our money. Just a feeble attempt to keep the masses out IMO.

Bitcoin is still in its infant stage. There are a lot of difficulties ahead before it becomes mature and stable. What we should do is to hold our coins tightly.

They cannot crash the price without bringing Bitcoin to the attention of the whole world.

Just relax and watch!
Maybe to sell now and rebuy later, so you can increase your btc holdings.
But nothing will be changed drastically l think.

I don't think that we can declare Bitcoin until the price goes to 0 cents. That is when it will truely be dead.

With the ever increasing hash power, I think the answer is clear. Incidences like Mt. Gox etc. already proved that bitcoin is not going to die so easily.

Even then Bitcoin isn't dead. Miners need to quit and all full node hosts need to shut down. Or simply the internet must stop working. That's how you kill Bitcoin. Other than that there isn't any possible action that can kill Bitcoin.

Is only dead for people that don't use.
We people that use it is still not dead is always have been going down and up again.
I think it will be impossible to be dead this couple of years is still young and can grow.

I wouldn't really call the 380 price stable by any means... It has been there for a few days, after huge unrest in the market with 100 usd price swing.

It's rather consolidation and the market determining whether it needs to go down more or that it is still undervalued and needs to retrace to 400+.

21,000,000 lives.

I thought bitcoin was dead for quite a while, way before I actually bought any and before I joined bitcointalk.  Now I realize it's going to take a lot to kill it and I don't think that'll be accomplished anytime soon.  Bitcoin has a dedicated (but relatively small) user base keeping it alive--the devs and so forth, and it gets used a lot for dark market transactions.  Definitely not dead.

Every drop bitcoin dies so that is a lot of dead and when in goes up than is a live again so I think like a 1000 times is dead. Is just the people that panic about that bitcoin is crashing or going down.

Bitcoin is dead when there are zero transactions in a 24 hour period. We are still averaging +/- 200 000 transactions per day, which is pretty active for me. Do not believe

everything you see in newspapers or what you read on blogs. If one guy {Mike Hearn} says Bitcoin is dead and thousands of people still use it, something should tell you, he

might be talking trash or he has a hidden agenda. The show goes on, just at a slower pace than before.  ::)

Welp! You've worded that right. Let's say about 90 lives and counting... xD. When the media says it's dead, it re-spawns itself and it's back to growing its way up.

Actually is non-sense that people say is dead, because bitcoin is never gone to zero maybe to 200 or 150 dollars gone down.
Still not to zero and this year we will see bitcoin just growing hoping to get at 500 dollars at March if it reach.

Bitcoin have still not died so don't worry. Cat still have a lot of lives.

Bitcoin has many lives. The price is so fun to watch, up, down, sideways rollercoaster.  I am glad I am not a trader with this stuff because I would certainly be as insane as a Siamese cat.

The thing i have noticed is that every bit of bad news now has less of an effect on Bitcoins price.  if one of the core devs had said what h said 2 years ago bitcoin would halved its price over night....

Bitcoin has some super hero characteristics, every time you think this new villain will kill it, it bounce back with new tricks. We should make a series about our super hero and sell it to the networks. It will last for at least 90 seasons. You just have to laugh at the media, when they try different angles to kill Bitcoin.

The same happened with the internet back in the days, and most people said, a unregulated environment like that will never fly, and guess where we are today?

Bitcoin never dead & it won't happen expect internet is gone or something really better than bitcon comes out.
Some website said bitcoin already "dead" 90 times, but i think million people already said bitcoin already "dead".

Mostly said by idiots who have no idea on the cryptocurrency stuff, just talk because they want to.

People like to jump every time anything happens in the cryptocurrency community and say BTC finished etc... and that probably is due to FUD and aiming to buy at the cheaper price, I think most of the people here already grown unaffected by that right now.

Yes the main reason of this is people already invested alot in bitcoins. So, whenever there is little drop in bitcoins they think that it would become dead. When price rises they again come into business. So, it is simple thinking of every trader which would not affect bitcoin.

So I've kinda lost count, how many times has Bitcoin been declared dead now?

Don't be annoyed. There is much more to see in the future. It will be always various "specialist" or "competent" people which will hear about bitcoin today, will read some things tomorrow and will be convinced that are able to predict its future the next day. The fourth day will be convinced that must share all this deep knowledge to the others in order to protect (especially) these who are years with it from the secure loss of their money used to buy bitcoin. Expressing in the same share their deep sorrow about their situation and asking sorry to not did before than 4 days ago its first contact with bitcoin in order that gave these his precious advises before. The world is full with "Harvard guys" like the last one who make the article at Washington Post who have the mind in their ass.

Everyone has a different view on bitcoin plus they may have their own purpose by saying that, as this can cause someone to immediately sell his/her bitcoins for whatever they get at that time. It may also be from an unaware person that saying bitcoin is dead.

It is true, bitcoin is often declared dead and I laughed at previous news of bitcoin's death. But this time is actually quite problematic, Haern made quite a mess with his statement.
Some people actually believed him and we are seeing how bitcoin negation is progressing in mainstream media. I see grim future ahead.

The 'community' (chinese miners) so far reached consensus of not accepting any blocksize changes, at all. And that is the consensus we will see in 2016.
Chinese community doesn't care about bitcoin longevity or its purpose to compete with FIAT, they care about their earnings today and tomorrow.

To be brutally honest, I highly doubt that we'll be seeing $430 by the end of the day, however $405 is not beyond our grasp. Maybe something slightly higher.

I am pleasantly surprised to see that Bitcoin keeps rising, slowly, regardless of what happens to it. I wonder what is going to happen to it in the future.
