Send a letter to his work with proof of what he did. That'll teach him.

We should all post to his twitter and Facebook account asking when he is going to pay. Also friend his friends and follow his followers and post about his fraudulent activities. That has been effective in the past.

Are you sure it's really him and not a stolen identity? I doubt a scammer would give you so many personal details if they were going to scam? If he's given you so many personal details maybe something has just happened? (i.e he is unwell or something). Has he been active on twitter recently? Maybe I am just naive... but if it is him and he is a total scammer he must be a total idiot as well.

Scammers are often not the sharpest pencils in the box. Often they are drug addicts who go on a binge and disappear. Often they are convicted criminals who get incarcerated again and often they are legitimate borrowers who don't have the ability or don't want to repay and decide the easiest person to skip out on is the guy on the internet they never met face to face. But what bitcoin scammers ALWAYS underestimate is the lengths to which bitcoiners will go to track a scammer down and recover funds.

He was very active on Facebook and all his friends interaction looked legit to me.

Then go get him man. Call his work. Call / Facebook message his friends and family telling them he's a thief.

And his phone just pocket-logged into facebook and blocked his lender? I doubt it.

I've heard that hospital line a few times...it's even more popular than the imaginary death in the family or sick child. They always choose excuses that are aimed at making YOU feel guilty while they are stealing from you.

What normally gives it away is that on their social media there is not a single 'Get Well Soon' message...

Interesting, didn't thought looking after that one. Dunno if 10btc is worth more than a tarnished online identity these days  :'(

I'd ask him.for an alternate payment method. if he refuses I'd start hounding his close contacts. treat it like collections in this case. you may not recover it all but a good sum is better then none.

Of he's given names of mommy, sissy or uncle mike I'd get ahold of these people. let them know then see if they can't talk to him. I'm pretty sure this is ether a case of no intention or good intention that went south.

But at any rate I'd first give him the option to pay up in some other currency median.

WARNING: He was lying about him on his phone. If he was on his phone, the messages sent will be like this:

"I like ponies. I think they're really cool"

You CANNOT get messages like this unless you manually remove the caps lock which is real tedious:

"i like ponies. i think they're really cool'

Good morning Carlos,

I have attached the scanned image as promised. Stephen asked me to delete his facebook account last night. Is everything ok ? He said he has been planning to do it for ages but it seems strange to me, I don't know maybe I'm just being paranoid, it's just all of this sending an image to someone I don't know without an explaination seems odd. Anyway the image is attached, I'm not great with computers so let me know it's ok.

All the best,
JC.

The doc says he was examined day 01/01/2013 (sig by doctor), contains his name, date of birth, phone, PPS, and address. Everything matches.
Diagnose: multiple metatarsal fracture

I guess this is legit and he really is in the hospital.
did you call the hospital to confirm it's real?

Hi everyone!

First off let me say, it doesn't surprise me the way people have reacted to this situation. This thread on my personal loan with Carlos has really shown the diversity in peoples judgement because at the end of the day whether tolerant or accusing everyone judges. It does sadden me that such situations evoke quick aggressive hateful judgment rather than tolerant understanding judgement, but at the end of the day the internet is faceless and people are more confident here! I have settled this personal matter with Carlos & Paraipan and everybody is happy. Although we could have done without this situation happening in the first place, but that's life.

On NYE I was out with friends having a great night. At the end of the night we got a taxi home, the taxi driver was eager to get to his next job i presume when we left the cab and he sped away and drove over my foot crushing four bones in my foot. I have been in hospital since NYE with four shattered metatarsels and got out this morning.

As you can imagine this has been a horrible situation, ruining my NYE and leaving me broke. I had no health insurance and am now left with a hospital bill of nearly 2,000euro. I had 1200 savings which i have had to spend on this and have come to an agreement with Paraipan with a reasonable payback plan.

I am now forced to sell some of my assets. I have a Cisco 3560g 24 Port switch i used for training that I am willing to sell for half of the price i bought it for. I will be putting an add up on this forum as I would like to promote the bitcoin community we have here. If bought for bitcoin I'm willing to settle for 350 euro or around 35 bitcoin. If you have no use for the switch please see it as an opportunity to help a fellow bitcoiner out a shitty situation and pay hospital bills.

Here is a link to the advert i have on the national irish sales site:

P.S: Can I just take this oppertunity to tell everyone what really good guys Carlos and Paraipan are. If anything good has come of this let it at least be the model on which they handled this situation. Please don't start trolling and asking silly questions as they will be ignored, getting this thread locked seen as it is resolved would be great but I suppose everything is up for discussion.

Peace :-)

Has anyone received conclusive proof of his injury and hospitalization.

This is a common excuse when creditor ship out on funds due.

I certainly don't expect him to post medical info publicly but I do think confirmation of these events should be delivered to his creditor.  Police report, Hospital Report etc,  even a news paper report (obviously with name redacted) but with conclusive proof it was him.

Quite. What part of having your foot injured was it that caused your first reaction to be to block your borrower on Facebook and then after being called out on this, delete your Facebook account?

If he's worked out a deal fucking let it go. If you dobt believe him and are not directly effected by this loan... a simple solution exists. ether ignore his postings or don't make any deals with him.

To beat the issue of posting proof is no longer anyones concern. Furthermore aside from moral support and perhaps advice tips it really wasn't our concern to begin with. I take these.scammer threads for what they are. A simple warning to others concerning deals with a mentioned person within the body of the post.

If he doesn't abide by the payment plan. The OP has a right further.down the road to deface him. But for now let fucking time prove ether way

raising the question: "If a scammer pays someone back, is he no longer a scammer?  Was he ever a scammer?"

Not trying to rub salt in any wounds, but this exchange made me laugh when reading the first convo posted... (paraphrased)

Lender: You owe me 10BTC.
Lendee: A taxi cab ran over my foot.
Lender: Well, I'm just telling you I publicly claimed you're a scammer because you're late, unresponsive, and blocked me on social media.
Lendee: Wtf! Imagine being in my (crushed) shoes!
Lender: Your shoes? Imagine being in MY shoes. I just lost 10BTC!
