Title: Avalon Firmware to mine on wifi Post by: valkir on January 28, 2016, 02:27:28 AM Hi all
I have an Avalon 4.1 and I was wondering if it could be possible to use a wifi dungle on the rasb pi. This could give me the possibility to run a avalon anywhere I want. Title: Re: Avalon Firmware to mine on wifi Post by: valkir on January 29, 2016, 04:11:18 AM Bump! No one ????

Any wireless access point will give you the same ability. http://www.amazon.com/TP-LINK-TL-WA801ND-Wireless-300Mbps-Repeater/dp/B004UBU8IE/ref=sr_1_3?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1454040819&sr=1-3&keywords=wireless+access+point Title: Re: Avalon Firmware to mine on wifi Post by: VirosaGITS on January 29, 2016, 09:50:43 AM Hi all I have an Avalon 4.1 and I was wondering if it could be possible to use a wifi dungle on the rasb pi. I dont see an option for wlan, and if i click add new network interface, the two options are lan eth0 and custom. Might be possible to do with custom, but i don't know how it work. Slapping a wifi bungle would be simple if it worked out of the box. They were popular about 5-10 years ago when gaming consoles did not have WiFi support and only had ethernet. http://www.amazon.com/NETGEAR-Universal-Ethernet-Adapter-WNCE2001/dp/B003KPBRRW/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1454064133&sr=8-2&keywords=wifi+gaming+adapter Title: Re: Avalon Firmware to mine on wifi Post by: valkir on January 30, 2016, 04:52:32 AM Yeah I want my rasb pi to be able to run on wifi.
Right now avalon firmware need ethernet cable but I will like to be able to use a dungle. Edit: Could it be possible to do it with a R1 ?? The avalon firmware does not come with a wlan interface pre configured but we know for a fact Open WRT can handle it. So it might just be a matter of downloading the right package to install on Open WRT. Someone that knows networking a bit should be able to give simple instruction on how to get this working.
