Title: What Roger Ver thinks about Theymos?
Post by: Coinbuddy on February 08, 2016, 02:40:02 PM
This is what Roger Ver say about the Theymos:

"I feel embarrassed that someone like Theymos is so involved with Bitcoin", says Roger Ver.

It is important for all of us to speak out against his blatant suppression of information.
I hope others will publicly speak out as well.

On twitter Roger says:

If you're resorting to censorship, you've already lost the debate. http://www.reddit.com/r/BTC  http://www.bitcoinclassic.com

I don't get it.And why is it so important what Roger Ver thinks about a person?
I find it kind of suspicious that Roger Ver was hanging around with a shady guy like Marshall Long in Thailand and now both are supporting Bitcoin Classic.Just a coincedence of course. ::)

I once had a really good opinion about Roger. But this is changing more and more.Kind of sad and disappointing that he is moving this direction.

Bitcoin classic is Bitcoin Core 0.11.2 with 2mb block size limit instead of 1mb.

What Ver thinks is unimportant. Theymos' censorship is. But if you're fine with that, disregard & move on. Didn't mean to wake you.

some people will switch to Bitcoin classic. it will be a mess after few miners will do that too.

Strange. Censorship isn't really understandable.

From what I understood bitcoin classic might be less good than core. Ok with that.

but why censorship? It's really worrying I got to say. I don't like the idea at all!

Apparently everything which is not standard, current representation of bitcoin is an altcoin for Theymos, and it is not required in bitcoin section of Reddit.
It doesn't matter what potential changes are, every line of code that is different from original creation is undesirable. Hence the censorship.

Look at all this censorship! Ver has been full of bullshit since the day that he claimed Mt.Gox was solvent.  :D

some people will switch to Bitcoin classic. it will be a mess after few miners will do that too.
They won't do that; that's irrational at best.

From what I understood bitcoin classic might be less good than core. Ok with that.
It is much worse than Core, not "might be less good".

but why censorship? It's really worrying I got to say. I don't like the idea at all!
One could claim that there was some but mostly at the time of the XT fiasco; those times are behind us.

So it is an altcoin  :P ?
It is.

This doesn't make sense; hasn't the code changed for most of the part since the departure of satoshi (i.e. original creation)?

Just another bullshit troll by Coinbuddy ::)
Now that he has been recognized as an alt of a troll he is siding with the other forum where nobody has yet detected him and his behavior.

Good luck with these nonsensical rumors.

My friend have I ever said that I'm fine Theymos's politics? Don't think so.
So why you are trying to put words in my mouth?!
I just said that I don't think it is important what Roger Ver is thinking! And this stays!
I pretty awake by the way.Thanks! ;)

Yes, it is indeed an altcoin. I normally like the way Roger Ver is speaking in interviews and how he is looking to make Bitcoin more popular. But him being pissed off just because of an altcoin does not get mentioned in the reddit media is just ridiculous. He must know that anything that isn't fully related to Bitcoin will either get removed from the social media page, or will simply be "banned" / "blocked". Bitcoin Classic is nothing more than an altcoin without the support of the core devs and eventually the miners.

Welcome back Roger. Are you aware of the fact that Mircea Popescu has said he'll flood the market with his stash if Classic wins ?

It his highly likely (http://bitcoinocracy.com/arguments/if-non-core-hard-fork-wins-major-holders-will-sell-btc-driving-price-into-the-ground) that the majority of the holders will start selling everything. I'll join them as well. Classic is an abomination almost rivaling the case of the recent outbreak of hearnia. I'm not sure how this exactly is relevant to the thread. If anything this thread should be trashed.

bitcoinocracy is not reflecting the true picture. There are 150k+ bitcoins backing block size increase (https://www.reddit.com/r/btc/comments/41r561/150k_btc_between_personal_holdings_and_associates/).

I'm a Bitcoin 1%'er myself and will also be dumping my holdings if Classic wins.

Fuck anything involving Roger Ver.

I'm a 0.0001%er and I will dump ALL my holdings if we start forking all over the place. You have been warned.

but why censorship? It's really worrying I got to say. I don't like the idea at all!

The only reason they are censoring it, is because they are afraid it might not be worse.

If it really is worse, there's nothing to worry about, because people would ignore it.

People should be offered the choice. That's what decentralization is about.

This forum, as well as /r/bitcoin (who is moderated by the same persons) should have links to all viable and stable releases of bitcoin clients. Not only Core. So that people can make their own choice.

Quote

The issue is not free speech, the issue is centralization.

If one user (Theymos) decides on which client gets the spotlight (and therefore, is 99% more likely to out-compete the competition, simply because a large majority of the users is not even aware there is competition in the first place).

And while we could make our own forum, you know that's not a solution. You could make a better facebook, but even though it would be better, it won't gain any users because facebook has over a billion users and your new network will have 0. A social network is nothing if it doesn't have users.

The centralization of this forum is making bitcoin look bad.

Quote from: Andreas Antonopoulos
"One of the things that came out of this, which I've found very disappointing. Is that one of the moderators of Reddit, who also is the moderator of [bitcointalk org] and the Wiki. Has taken a stance where he has excluded or censored all conversation about XT.

I think that's really an example how unhealthy the governance structure has become and to me the Reddit platform as result has really deteriorated badly. It's not a healthy place to have a debate. Between the moderators not doing anything about the trolling and doing a lot about censorship instead of focusing on the trolling...I'm out."

hmmm
