First, read the tidbit at the top of these threads. Never invest more than you can afford to lose! Also, it is impossible for them to be banned from the bitcoin network as anyone can generate their own private keys and get a bitcoin address. Same goes with doubling sites, anyone (basically) can open up a website. "Invest" smartly and you might be able to come out with a profit like some of us.

Well some people only consider gambling "gambling" if the odds are safe and open like in the casino's and lotteries and stuff. For me this section here is a game. It is a game of a race against the clock of when it will scam or bust. So yeah I definitely see it as a gamble. You do your research, do the math, weigh in the potential losses against the potential profits, do a bit of logical thinking and reasoning and make up your mind on what to do. Patience is key.

Just wanted to add:

The only one who can double your coins is yourself  ;)

Why ban them? I get it that you were scammed - I've been scammed too. In fact, when I first discovered bitcoin and this forum I saw all these different ponzis and never learnt how to actually invest properly. I would throw huge amounts in and get nothing back. Was I pissed off? Absolutely, but I never went ballistic like you are. I was mad and angry that I had money stolen from me but instead of saying ban all owners from this network - and the bitcoin network (which is impossible) I thought of it as a LESSON on how to spend my money.

Now that I have been scammed a million and one times I better understand how to manage my finances and where I should keep my money.

I am not trying to say scammers are good people or should continue what they're doing either. All I am saying is that you should look at being scammed from that perspective. You'll feel better. Plus, there is money to be made in this section! Everyday at least one ponzi a day opens that does pay for a few hours at the least. Some don't pay at all, and by being scammed once or twice you'll learn which sites are the best to spend your money. So that's why I am saying to not ban any ponzi at all. I've made a lot of money off of ponzis and encourage you to do the same as well, just know when to stop spending.

Invest once and never look back. That's how I invest. Depositing once on a ponzi is fine, twice is too much. If you develop a good pattern and strategy then you'll win. If you don't you'll fail and it's your own damn fault.

Bitcoin means freedom, at least for me.
So, we're basically supposed to do whatever we want with our bitcoins, including to invest into HYIPs.

why ban them if you are in the gambling section.. HYIP, DOUBLER or any other is also gambling, you gamble and hope that owner doesn't run away.

I don't think you can just all out say ban all doubler owners from the bitcoin network.  Doublers need to be seen as gambling, well the ones that aren't just scams from the start.  Don't ever take these as a legit investment you will regret it.

theres no way to stop actually, some people are in profit using doubler. well invest with care. :)

I think that we needs some radically changes here.
I don't know exactly how but something like that:
I saw that almost all of doublers accept micro-transaction.
He give you some small amount, say 0.001 and "double" it.
So you have 0.002.
After that he allow you withdraw 0.002.
After that it's up to you to send 0.001 again or not.
If he such "gentle word saver". if you send again, he will"double" 0.001 and everyone happy.
If you decide not to send again- not a big deal coz 0.001 not so big money,
and here will be equal chances win or lose in 2 sides. From him or from you.
That's will be real game not a fucking scam.

Let's think together and setup rules.
If "operator" don't agree for our rules we don't send him coins.

Think something like that will cut a lot of scammers here.

Operator can also get  some % for yoursellf for his honest profit. (After second "deposit"  means).

And he will earn real trust too. Not like now everywhere [TRUSTED] so don't need new account again and again.

No point to gamble with 8 cents, complete waste of time for a huge majority of people, nobody would both using a microtransaction doubler to make 4 cents in few days.

Let's talk about rules.

I mean about community rules. Community is big.

So we can setup rules and send coins to operator who agree for rules.

A'm saying again. Let's think together.

Maybe we can setup multisig ponzi wallet and such "doubler" should be "deposit" like users do 50% or whatever
from incoming money to that multisig wallet so it will be impossible to steal coins.

After "doubling" cycle that amount (minus some (honest) % to "doubler" ) going to user and to doubler too
50/50 or whatever.

Everybody happy :)

And such "doubling" will do serious "doubler" who have real money, not a obviously scammer.

And explain that in social networks too to prevent newbies from scam.

That will be real game as what I'm said before.

user, other password hold "doubler" third - trusted member e.t.c In multisig wallet there can be several passwords.

Or maybe more easy way: Here onboard we setup one multisig wallet (don't need any program) so any doubler who wanna play here also do "deposit". Passwords hold user, doubler and several trusted members so
noone can steal money

P.S. In this case don't need micro transaction. Any amount will be acceptable.

So scammers always like to use this forum and promote the biggest scams. I totally agree that topics opened were you can know people will get scammed always need to be closed and removed. People there post get removed when it don't fits the moderators his guidelines except when you try to scam people. Some scam situations can be smelled by the admins and moderators from far away. With there advanced tools they can see more from the scammers then we can see. With that info they can also somethimes know people will get scammed.

Again, don't need to discuss about ban coz ban useless.
