You might want to give it about 24 hours before calling someone a scammer.

If you live in the US, what I would recommend is setting up a Dwolla->MtGox account even though it is slow if you intend to trade large amounts of cash/BTC, or just link your bank to Coinbase if you will be doing smaller amounts.

There are going to be a lot of people on the newbie boards and marketplace in the coming months looking to scam both buyers and sellers. Volatility has gotten very high and it is about to get higher.

Dude we have already discussed this. I never acted like I was offline either I've been online this whole time. I didn't know it was going to make me verify my SSN when I tried to send a payment. My apologies, you will either receive your BTC or be refunded in full within the next few hours. I'll throw on 10% for the hassle.

Are you trying to blackmail me, boilerman? You sure jumped on this didn't you. I TOLD YOU TO QUIT MESSAGING ME. I don't want anything to do with your gift cards or you. Post your evidence of the balance and where the card was used. I'll post my best buy account and shipping address, to prove I haven't purchased anything. I told you I'd check to see if it worked, and it didn't. How many people did you give your card out to? You were offering it to me for $30 and you were sure PM'ing me a lot trying to get rid of it. I do NOT want it, don't message me again.

I'm still not convinced that Jakers is a scammer based on the evidence above by boilerman and OP.

We'll he's not doing a good job of creating a reputation as a trusted trader.

Jakers maybe it's time to find a now hobby where trust doesn't matter.    WoW, Steam??

Hah, no thanks. I do about 2-3 successful trades a day, I have them vouch for me unless it's through PM. Do you have a vouch thread? I could say your reputation is shit to but how are you going to prove me wrong when your testimonials are spread around on 100's of different threads. You could take 10 or 15 minutes to look for them I guess  ::)

You could say anything you want jakers.  Wouldn't matter.

You should document all your trades until you have a better rep.

One confirm with 420 and these complaints do not inspire confidence.

Do you have all your trades documented? Or at least a vouch thread? I wasn't expecting something like this to come up so I had no reason to be worries, I was gaining my vouches at a steady pace. Since this isn't a problem anymore, and I never scammed in the first place, this can be closed (upon OP's request). We're talking on Skype now and I'm doing several things to get him his payment since this came up, and even including a 10% bonus for the wait + hassle.

Well, Jakers is resolving the problem with OP (which is a genuine accusation). Boilerman's accusation is weak so to say as his evidence is practically non-existent, combined with the age of his account....

Thanks John, I'm willing to provide information if anything does come up with Boilerman. However, I think he was just black mailing me because right when this thread popped up I got a message from him trying to extort money from me. He would of seen this too because his account is new and this is generally the only place he can hang out and post. I'm more than willing to provide any info in the case anything does come up. I'm sure the record of the purchases (if any) on his Best Buy gift card will surely clear things up though  :)

Can you provide a SS on his extortion message?
Boilerman, please provide more evidence like screenshots etc if you feel you have been unfairly scammed by Jakers.

Both the accounts accusing Jakers of being a scammer are brand-new, so keep that in mind.

John here's what he sent me. Notice the dates and times between the PM's and the thread creation. Also, why is he laughing and putting smileys all over if I just scammed him $100? Doesn't make sense, he's obviously the worst liar in the world.

Btw, I've been trusted with $50+ and BTC4Amazon was about to trust me with $100 Visa gift card but I declined because I didn't have a buyer. It wouldn't make sense for me to scam $40, especially after I was just trusted with more than that a few days ago.

Here's the proof of extortion and horrible lying (notice the smileys, laughing, and also the times between thread creation and the first PM, which starts at 3:12:27) :

Anything else I need to clear up, just ask. I'll be glad to post evidence or PM it to you if it's confidential (shipping address/BB account/etc.)

I have made many succesful trades with him, never ripped me off, I have vouched for him many times before.
Jakers came to me and admitted he messed up with the MB thing but also said he is working on fixing it.

I am not going to stick my neck out and say I guarantee anything but I do have proof of many successful trades with him that have all worked out fine.
In the ^500-1000

Would using an escrow system help save you from being scammed? I'm about to sell some cards to him for a few BitCoins and now that I've seen this thread I don't feel safe with this transaction... but I really need to sell these cards.
Use John (JohntheDong) best Escrow on here never ripped me off have had him handle a lot of my money
