Title: Need help my bitcoins are failing to get recieved.
Post by: AzNmeowmeow on January 27, 2013, 08:51:20 PM
Hey all, I've been having so much trouble like understanding what to do with blockchain.info.
I don't really have enough bitcoins to work with because each time I try to send it somewhere it fails to receive it.

Could someone like give me step by step instructions on how to properly send it or to fix up some of my configurations so that the receiver actually gets my bitcoins.

What's the transaction ID?

Funny you should ask for that, Check out my book Bitcoin Step by Step on Amazon, in Kindle format: www.amazon.com/Bitcoin-Step-by-ebook/dp/B00A1CUQQU/

If you do not have a kindle reader you can download one for any OS and use it for free: http://www.amazon.com/gp/feature.html?ie=UTF8&docId=1000493771

Actually that would be a bitcoin address.  An address can send and receive multiple transactions, and each transaction will have its own ID.

Here is an example (https://blockchain.info/tx/0e13580407e0878b16f4f7817d2cd29728a22ef79b63a8d1817926144ce8ddf3) of a transaction you received at that address for 0.01 BTC (transaction ID: 0e13580407e0878b16f4f7817d2cd29728a22ef79b63a8d1817926144ce8ddf3):

It looks like you later spent that 0.01 BTC along with:
  • 0.0001 BTC from 11ek5Ch7hcWZTWVvu7CvnyKAmzYLX9bc4
  • 0.15128 BTC from 18QkKVje7DX9psTLaV1d1jfNmfSy8x6PEt
  • 0.00207 BTC from 18v93Kuhqwzu5UM41yHXnquqcuSr45oSyQ
  • 0.001 BTC from 1HAZ4TViPgzAfnpNkNMXp1L1D3UikTNRVm
  • 0.002 BTC from 1HXD5F1nXbeQkH8YzcFJX6hoPxF4w2kEhs
  • 0.0005 BTC from 1LuUmgpLZciyBJfGUSBauJDVejgTLGgXe9

in transaction bc72a3b9651ef6dfb78dadc830bca3c97a0bf3f81a7d14c5814237b3833d6049 sending a total of 0.164 BTC bitcoins to address 1Q1MtaQfuzZEp3xAutp14jJMDFpbxWk2H6 and paying a 0.003 BTC transaction fee.  Here is a link to that transaction:

So address 136N4Dca3tkBT3esKDGi6nByc6tCaanytD is now empty.

Thanks, Dan. I was all about to write the same long post when yours popped up and now I don't have to.

I don't want to sound like a bum or anything but do you mind if you can sent me some BTC to work with? Also just wondering what kind of problems will I actually come across and how would I go about fixing it.

If you can: 15WzhPpVeyNxLXzceH5FVmAAfMB5ERdMoa
Many thanks if you do.

Faucets give you enough bitcoin to start off with and test various services

Edit: did you still need help with figuring out how to send and receive properly?
