So far so good on my end. I deposited some Dwolla and deposited some bitcoins last night to test out speed. My Dwolla showed up on Tradehill within a couple hours and the bitcoins roughly an hour and a half. With the referrals making the fees cheaper than Mt. Gox, and with there being more withdrawal options, Paypal being one of them, it seems fitting to be called a Mt. Gox competitor.

Personally I don't have any problems with Mt. Gox, and will continue to use their service as well, but I see tradehill being my second goto site for bitcoin trades.

Opinions? Experiences? Predictions?

It is tough for a non-US, non-EU, non-AUS citizen to do international payments and feel secure with it. South Africa only recently got allowed to withdraw money from Paypal. Digital payments are a pain, besides credit cards and Paypal, but of course they are more risky and prone to fraud.

Tradehill seems to be more open towards more currencies and more withdrawal/depositing options, which makes me happy. I contacted them for more details about setting up a BTC/ZAR exchange (still need to hear back though), but just that they are willing to expand is great. I can withdraw with Paypal, which is awesome, but now to get the money in, that is still a bit tough. I can do international direct bank payment, but I'd let Tradehill prove themselves first, before trusting my money like that.

Furthermore, the withdrawal options are awesome. I say, it looks good. A good future lies ahead methinks.

Still a bit more difficult to get money from the "Eurozone" to Tradehill than to MtGox, I expect the first person to become a EUR accepting contractor to (potentially) get into a lot of trouble but also to make a LOT of money in the process.

Generally I really like their ideas of also selling a few online "goods" (like WoW-codes, Amazon gift codes...) as well as offering bank transfers.

What I'm still wondering is, if you can now or in the future also convert between currencies also directly (not going over the BTC step) to profit from arbitrage rates (22 EUR = >32 USD!) or if you can at least offer this as a service too.

Also at last credit card deposits would be a great thing to have, I'm not sure how high the risk of chargeback is there and how to prevent it (freeze funds for a certain time?!) but as an option it would be awesome. Maybe also something to consider, should you want to get a lot of money - the first one brave enough offering this, will see a LOT of money going through probably.

I was surprised to see INR as option to deposit money.
Since I own the account in the bank listed, I can transfer without any charge.

But the question for me at the moment is, will there be volume in INR/BTC pair?
I know max volume will be in USD/BTC.

Hence, if I can do below:
Deposit : INR (bank account)
Trade : USD/BTC
Withdraw : INR (bank account) or USD(paypal), though wudnt prefer paypal   :-X

It would be nice if tradehill better showed your referrals and how the referral fees are earned. I've got a lot of people signing up under my code but it doesn't show many anything until they start making trades.

The more exchanges the better. Until now Mt.Gox being the place where the majority of trades occur is kind of a single point of failure (if governments/CBs will go after it's bank accounts).

I know it shows me that. What I am saying, is how much each person does. I am refunding 20% of the earned commissions to the people that signed up under me. Currently they have to prove to me their trades because I don't have that information easily showed to me.

I need a little help with tradehill.

I deposited money from dwolla into tradehill.

Then I clicked BTC instant buy.  I tried 1 coin to test.

Now what?  I dont see any place to insert my bitcoin address.

What am i doing wrong,  thanks for your help.

If you made the trade, you should now have 1 bitcoin in your tradehill account (check your dashboard).

You can withdraw that bitcoin in the withdraw section. Click "BTC" for currency.

I think it should show the amount the trade is going to cost in real time like mtgox does, as well as having both things on the same page.  That makes it much easier to play the highs and lows of the market at a rapid pace.

Ok I did the withdraw to my bitcoin address,  in process.

Still didnt ask for my address.  Will the system ask for the address after it processes?

I figured there was a spot someplace in the profile section to add your bitcoin address.

Is there a way to cancel my withdraw request and start over?

Might want to contact them. I would assume the order would just get cancelled but who knows. If it doesn't have an address to send to, it can't go anywhere.

Also, props to Bruce Wagner and The Bitcoin Show for the interview with TradeHill. Just got to check it out. Production value can definitely rise, but it was nice to have an hour long discussion on the topic. I have faith in TH's business model and think they are in it long-term.

So far so good -- deposited one btc and sold it for usd.  Haven't withdrawn yet though. 

Thought I'd put my experience here.

I transferred in 30BTC last night.  Put a sell order, they sold immediately.  I put in a request for a withdraw with Dwolla, had the money within the hour.

The process for withdrawing money is a bit confusing (Box A - Box G?), but I'm sure it will be prettied up eventually.

Why can't i withdraw via paypal? It was there in the morning. now it's gone :(

Blame Paypal  ;D We want to work with them. They don't want to work with us.

A little heads up. We're getting a ton of volume.
I don't mean that this is bad but there are 4 people working 18 hours a day to keep up with it.

Paypal froze my account (or just stopped working) so I paid out from my personal account.
They froze that (or it broke too).

We've gotten a ton of feed back and it's all been good so far.
We're huge supporters of Bitcoin and will probably be in 40 countries within a month.

To say this is happening fast is an understatement.

I'm offering to refund everyone who originally cashed out with Paypal by Dwolla.
Dwolla rocks, Paypal sucks... easy choice.

I'll kick in an extra 5% for the hassle.

If you prefer Amazon (and should) I'll cash you out with it as well.

This is only valid for those that already tried to cash out with paypal and it was blocked.
I took care of almost all of the debts before they cut me off. If you don't have a processing transaction with us labeled Paypal then it's too late for now sorry.

Additionally we're low on LR USD and I'd be happy to buy some with Dwolla.

Things are only getting better.

Dwolla should be automated soon and Bitcoin transfers are now automated.

Do we have Trade Hill customer support here? I sent them an e-mail and got no response. I was wondering on the TradeHill Partner Program to have a currency added for my country. Transferring money to other countries has been a pain since Paypal's TOS has made it virtually challenging to withdraw earnings. I wonder if they'll support reloading Payoneer, that one I have. I hope to get a resonse here since I posted on the other thread.

LOL, I through a sale order up at around $34/btc yesterday which was like $5 over Mt Gox at the time.  Today, the Mt. Gox exchange is down like another $4, but someone still bought my coins.  Didn't see exactly when the sale happened but it must have been $8 to $9 over spot.

I sold half a bitcoin on tradehill yesterday which was quick but I chose to payout in moneypak and i have yet to receive it!

You're cashing out half a bitcoin worth of USD via moneypak? You know those cost $10 on Tradehill correct?

Edit: In terms of speed, I wouldn't expect a moneypak to be instant. In order to get one, someone who works for TradeHill must physically go buy one, then copy the code to you. It isn't something you can get online.

I have more bitcions but I wanted to see how reliable TradeHIll is so basically I was testing out the system before giving them more of my money. It has been 24 hours since I have requested my MoneyPak and so far nothing. I just hope that this is not a scam but they are backlogged. However they still havent' responded to my email.

the words "withdraw", this is a banking term, and I'm pretty sure you don't have a banking license. ;) Also don't use the word "deposit" if you ever do.

1. MoneyPak funding and w/d of tradehill credits

2. unlimited and instant in and out exchange of Liberty Reserve (www.libertyreserve.com)

3. unlimited and instant in and out exchange of Pecunix (www.pecunix.com)

4. Get an account outside of the USA. In Switzerland, Liechtenstin, Hong Kong and/or Singapore, for example. They are much less likely to freeze your bank account.Swiss and Liechtenstein accounts can be opened remotely. HK and Singapore you must physically visit the bank.

I now got a few commissions from my referrals.

What is a bit weird is that these are in USD, not in BTC.

As I suspect there will be only USD traded for some time, that's kinda fine for me (even though I don't have any use for Dollars...) however I'm worried that if someone then trades Rupees, I get a few INR, if someone trades Punds, a get a few GBP etc.

I would VERY much prefer to get my commissions in BTC, because right now I also would have to check daily to convert these useless dollars to BTC and also put up tiny trades that rather pollute the database than do anything good. Very likely I wil still be stuck with a few 0.1 or 0.01 US cents as well... (feel free to have this as a switch too, if others feel they would rather have an inflationary currency as commission).

Also it would really help to see a balance, fees and other calculated results when placing an order - right now I have to note down my balance from the dashboard, calculate manually how many BTC these would be at my desired price and then it still won't work because fees are put on top afterwards!

TradeHill has commented on this, and they said they will be switching to issuing commissions in BTC in the near future. You can always use their "BTC Instant Buy" option to turn USD into BTC if you don't want to deal with the hassle of doing bids.

Well, have you looked at the prices there :o? Also, just for those few bitcents... nah!

I'll just wait a bit and when there's a bit more market activity I'll transfer some of my play money from MtGox there and start gambling on two markets (so far I got as much as via mining per day via gambling the rise + fall of the MtGox rate, so I save a GPU by putting up 2-4 trades in the evening! ;) ).

and Bitcoincharts integration

Great to see, hopefully an equivalent page to http://mtgoxlive.com/ will come too (depending on Tradehill's API probably - Websockets would be great)

One small thing I think would be great was if you could put our account balances on the top banner. That way when I sell a BTC and go to withdraw I do not have to memorize what exactly I have in USD to input 2 screen later.

The trade hill volume graph needs to remove those outlying bids and asks.  They make it so you can see what's really going on.

I'm no longer seeing it on the withdraw options.

We seriously need a small tradehill calculation sheet for:

* Posting orders (I have to calculate myself how many BTC I could buy with my USD?! >:( ), especially buy orders.
* How much cheaper tradehill is vs. MtGox (do I get more USD in the end if I sell @20.90 on Tradehill versus @21 at MtGox?)


And a really good market depth overview. The current one is more or less useless (tiny, 100 buys of 1 BTC would not stand out as 1 buy of 100 BTC, even though it's the same).

At least it looks like there is finally some money flowing in and people are building up their "order walls" (even though they still seem a bit scared to actually trade!).

Something weird I came across:
I sold 10 Bitcents @ 10 USD/BTC yesterday as a test when the highest bid was 18 USD/BTC

In the trade graph it was shown as a 10 USD trade.
I got 1 USD for the trade.
bitcoincharts showed the trade as a 18 USD trade.

I don't know if it's expected behaviour that I can dump (or in the future: unwillingly mistype/miss a number before the decimal point!) Bitcoins for far below the highest bid price and not get the price they were traded for, but only the price I was asking.

I just wanna say, what are the advantages to using trade hill when their buy/sell prices are less competitive than mtgox's?

Ex now MTgox buy 16.69   sell 16.5
        Tradehill buy 17.59   sell 15.92

It's their user's prices! Put up something more competitive and there you have it.

As commissions are 1/2000th of a trade, at least users referred by me alone have traded 7520 USD in the past few days! :)

I'm using these commissions btw to check out some stuff (like the "price gets shown as 10 USD" issue I wrote about earlier) - hopefully other referrers are doing that too!
