A good product sells itself. If Avalon is a good product (and everything so far indicates it will) he should just focus on getting units shipped, ensure good quality control, and resolving problems/failures. THAT will bring in the coins. Generally speaking the companies that spend the most on PR are those who either have an inferior product or are in a highly competitive environment where they can always produce more than they can hope to sell. A person just getting into Bitcoin might get scared off at the sheer lack of professionalism displayed by the PR people.
