Jeez, down for ten minutes and people think we are packing up shop, really?  Even when the website itself was still up?

Now I get why I got a cold welcome during bitcointalk registration. This place is actually horrible. Yea BTC is beautiful, but damn man, who are these people?

The place is great.  The majority of users are loud and ignorant.  But some amazing work is being discussed and planned here.  By admittedly few people.  Nonetheless, you take the good, you take the bad, you take them both and then you have, the facts of life!

The Mos Eisley analogy is surprisingly appropriate.  ;)

Interesting update. I am still doubtful of BFL not delaying through. After you roll 1 ten times, you start realizing the dice is loaded

Or you realize that you just managed to roll the dice ten times and get a 1 each time, a 1/60,466,176 chance :P

But yeah, if this was a Craps table I'd be calling BS on those dice ;)

For those of you that do not frequent the BFL Forums -- https://forums.butterflylabs.com/announcements/692-bfl-asic-status.html#post12237

Quote
I will most likely be headed to the fab at the end of the week to be prepared to pick up the chips next week. The broker says no later than the 8th on the chips, but most likely earlier. Even if the chips roll off the line on the 8th, it doesn't affect the timeline much. Here is the current projected timeline:

Leave for the fab ~ Feb 1st or 2nd
Acquire 6 wafers earliest Feb 4th - Latest Feb 8th
Transport wafers same day to bumping facility
2 days in bumping facility
Transport to substrate and packaging
1 - 2 days for substrate and packaging
Transport to assembly house
< 24 hours at assembly house
~1 day for chip verification/testing
Transport to Kansas City
Bulk assembly / send out demo units
Ship bulk units

Our timeline is still on target for the week of the 10th, probably towards the later part of the week. If the worst case scenario in every step comes to pass, we are looking at starting shipping around Monday the 18th. Best case scenario we will start shipping around Wednesday the 13th or Thursday the 14th. This is, of course, subject to change, but I will keep everyone updated when/if there are any changes.

Happy for the update...
And...they slipped yet again.

they've gone from bumping from "By end of next month at the latest" to "By end of next week at the latest".

I'm betting they use the "next week" line to transition into "next month".
Shoot, you saw through their plans!

ASICMINER is going to go live soon... 12TH + of hashing power to come on-line in the next week or two.

As the Avalon has a working ASIC now, the clock is ticking for BFL. AFAIK they have now working silicon right now and if the current waver run fail, we will see another 12++ week shift.

It boggles the mind to think BFL promised initially to ship in august (was it?) while it appears that even to date they still dont have a single working prototype. Im basing that on the fact we have not seen one and Josh's statements regarding yields and power consumption  indicate to me they have no real clue about those numbers other than what simulations provide.

If the above is correct, then all sorts of things could still go wrong and I would put the chances of BFL shipping this month at no more than 50/50 and the chances of them shipping and hitting their specs at even less.
Pretty sure was end of September/early October.

Spread on chips was 4-8th so maybe no delays yet.

I also wonder how long it will take to get them operational if changes need to be made to things like cgminer.

Discounts from BFL now don't mean crap since Avalon users .. well, this Jeff Garzik, will be making all the money anyway.

Our biggest hold up right now is the bumping and we have that taken care of, but we are trying to get that expedited and shave some days off (hopefully up to 7 days! Probably not that much though.). I'm waiting to hear back with regards to the expedite request and if they can speed thing up before I post the timeline, as it will affect it by up to five days depending on the outcome of that.

If you're not trying to shave off 7 days off the 2 days in bumping, maybe learn how to write better?  ???

when did Josh say that they were trying to shave off 7 days?  back in early Dec?

Also, since it is down to 2 days now, He was successfully in reducing the time :)

God you are an idiot.  You are definitely CreativeX level of incompetence and stupidity, congratulations for removing any doubt.

Bumping will take less than a day, actually, but we are allocating two days just in case.  Set up and tooling is what takes the most time, which is what we are trying to shave down.  Do I need to give you a quarter as well to go buy a clue?  Hell, go get it from Bryan Micon, the racist, homophobe... he never used his, so I'm sure he's still got it.

Not to be ass, Josh, but I believe you may be in error on this one (bold above).

If I remember, the silicon is 17x17mm.  The package is 29x29mm.  I'll measure it and confirm when I get into the office today.

I didn't do the research, but there's a slight possibility user BFL was directing the above reply to non-customers only.

That was then.  We have abandoned BitcoinTalk as a useful means of discourse, it's likely beyond repair at this point, unless the mods grow some nads and actually ... you know ... moderate (It looked promising a couple weeks ago, but that quickly faded into nothing).  Until people like PuertoLibre, CreativeX, Greyhawk, et al are banned and/or moderated into oblivion it's pointless to have any sort of serious discussion here.  When a large portion of the posters in a thread have absolutely nothing useful to add to the conversation, the signal to noise ration spirals out of control.  The above mentioned people are just a small subset of the wastes of humanity that post here... they are incapable of intelligent discourse so they just wreck the place because it's amusing.

An open forum where dissent isn't squashed is not a good platform for a party line aka marketing.

If the mods were to silence all those who have expressed a negative opinion it would be outright censorship - to BFL's favor.

If you think there are only a handful of dissenters you're wrong.

So, to fix this the accurate thing to say would be 'We have abandoned BitcoinTalk as a useful means to further discuss our marketing in a way that promotes our brand'

Dissension is not the problem (there's plenty of it on the BFL forums) - stupidity, lies and nonsense are the problems.  Take Greyhawk for example... his post was an outright lie, whether that's from ignorance or a willful act makes no difference.  He is posting inflammatory information that is false strictly to be an asshole and for no other purpose.  That is a useless post.  If you have legitimate dissension, post it respectfully and without your own particular brand of stupidity and you'll get a good response.  Contrary to what some would have you believe, I do not respond to respectful posters who have legitimate gripes with vitriol and contempt.  If you approach me like an adult, I respond to you like an adult.  If you approach me like a slobbering idiot, I have nothing but contempt for you and I'll let you know it.  In cases where you are a habitual liar and FUDraker, like CreativeX, PuertoLibre, etc... it's almost impossible for me to take anything said by them at face value.  They have proven they are incapable of holding intelligent conversation over and over, so there's no point in even making the attempt.

It is subject to change, because Josh is trying to knock off 7 days off the 2 day projected bumping process.  8)

He initiated this falsehood on his own, with no input from me.  Ergo your idiotic statement about me "crying because of what Greyhawk posted" is demonstrably false.  No matter how many times I demonstrate what you say is false and provide you with evidence, you are incapable of understanding simple logic.  You are, in a word, an idiot.  This is why I barely bother with you anymore and I probably shouldn't even bother engaging in this pointless discussion with you.  You simply can not grasp the concept of simple logic, it's so far beyond you that it's unlikely you will ever be able to obtain it.

YOU receive no respect because you deserve none.  I give respect to people who post intelligent, thoughtful posts with well reasoned arguments.  You have never, to my knowledge, demonstrated even the slightest ability to make an intelligent, thoughtful or well reasoned post.  All of your posts are rhetoric, lies and false information.  This is not an opinion.  Your lies have been pointed out to you on numerous occasions, backed up by your own words and contradictions, but you simply refuse to admit that you are too stupid to understand the actual conversation and back out gracefully, instead pushing forward like a small child determined to insert himself into the conversation between adults.

I dare you to try to post nothing but factual information for one week.  Just try it, see where it gets you.  To date, you've been unable to go more than a few posts without posting false information, I doubt you can make it a day, but a day is meaningless to well reasoned adults.  So if you can make it a week, I might have a shred of respect for you, but until you can stop posting false information, constant lies and bullshit, you deserve zero respect from anyone and I have nothing but contempt for you.  You provide nothing of value to this community (or any community I would imagine, given what I've seen here.)

As usual, you are an idiot, greyhawk.  Do you even try to make posts that fit reality or do you just post shit to see what you can get away with?  Are you trying to take PuertoRetard and CreativeIdiot's place in the top dumbasses of BitcoinTalk?

Quote from: Inaba
Here is the current projected timeline:

Leave for the fab ~ Feb 1st or 2nd
Acquire 6 wafers earliest Feb 4th - Latest Feb 8th
Transport wafers same day to bumping facility
2 days in bumping facility
Transport to substrate and packaging
1 - 2 days for substrate and packaging
Transport to assembly house
< 24 hours at assembly house
~1 day for chip verification/testing
Transport to Kansas City
Bulk assembly / send out demo units
Ship bulk units

Quote from: Inaba
Our biggest hold up right now is the bumping and we have that taken care of, but we are trying to get that expedited and shave some days off (hopefully up to 7 days! Probably not that much though.). I'm waiting to hear back with regards to the expedite request and if they can speed thing up before I post the timeline, as it will affect it by up to five days depending on the outcome of that.

If you're not trying to shave off 7 days off the 2 days in bumping, maybe learn how to write better?  ???
Again, like countless times before, Inaba (BFL Josh) is caught in yet another lie.

Greyhawk is not a troll. Calling someone "an idiot" when you are caught with your pants down between your ankles does not make anyone else an idiot or a retard other than you. (For getting caught)

Everyone's an idiot, a liar, a retard, a troll, or some combination thereof save Josh of course. ::)

Just ship a product bud. Stop the constant accusations, petty insults, and drama and ship. You guys are already behind Avalon and ASICMiner despite starting ahead of them. Do your job.

edit:  even as old as I am, I still have not learned to just shut up and listen ;)

And you never will. I certainly didn't.  ;D

I appreciate you taking the time to post here with such an informative post, but the rest of us (your customers) would like a little more information. Where are you guys exactly in your schedule, and are there any delays to your week-of-the-10th shipping date?

BFL does not communicate with it's customers on BitcoinTalk, you'll have to come to the BFL forums if you want real information.  As evidenced by greyhawk, it's impossible to hold intelligent conversation here with people like him around, retarding up the place.

False, they have answered customer questions in an official capacity under various names. That is a fact.

So we're looking at the 8th as the final date as to when BFL receives their FPGA chips for bumping?

Not to be ass, Josh, but I believe you may be in error on this one (bold above).

If I remember, the silicon is 17x17mm.  The package is 29x29mm.  I'll measure it and confirm when I get into the office today.

I didn't do the research, but there's a slight possibility user BFL was directing the above reply to non-customers only.

Later, bud.

~Bruno K~

Hey, don't knock the moderators.

They actually have to put up with reading your posts and not tapping that Ban button. That takes a LOT of ZEN and practice to achieve that much.

In fact, you ought to compensate them. I believe you are desensitizing them to the point that they compare regular trolls to the likes of you (Inaba/Josh).

At that point no troll can overcome your blazing style of trollmanship.

No one trolls Bitcointalk as hard as you do. If they can't/won't ban you...then why would they ban the lessor trolls?

I didn't start tapping out crap till you started naming people by name. Learn not to be so insulting even when it isn't necessary. Otherwise you have to accept that you are creating your own troll-ish conditions.

-----------------------

You ask Mods to ignore your trolling (and flames) but to ban others?

Get a grip. (No, that is not an invitation to troll more.)

Just post something useful, informative and not personal. There you go, the start of a useful post.

PuertoRetard, like CreativeX, you are beyond repair for any respect. I'm creating my own trollish conditions?  You post this nonsense after I just demonstrated that Greyhawk decided to post a pack of bullshit which I responded to.  Go one, show me where I initiate a troll and not responding to one like yourself?  If it has happened at all, it's few and far between, unlike yourself and the rest of the crew of normal idiots who inhabit BitcoinTalk... you yourself initiate posts repeatedly with false information and I respond to them, end of story.  Stop posting false information and I won't respond to it.  If I have to correct your posts because you're incapable of understanding basic concepts that are being discussed, then don't blame me for trolling.  You were the one too stupid to post real information and then you throw a tantrum when I correct you.  If it wasn't habitual with you, I wouldn't be so harsh, but you've proven time and again you can't behave yourself, so you get zero respect and nothing but contempt from me.  Behave yourself and you'll get respect, fail to do so, and you'll get what you get and I'll laugh at you whining and crying and sending email and after email to my employer trying to get me fired.

I haven't contacted your employer in a very long (I mean long) time. When I did make a complaint it was perfectly legitimate. You attempted to intimidate me (from my perspective) through my loved ones for good measure. Including threatening to trump up false legal charges.

The only one who did throw a tantrum was you. For what? For informing them about your behavior? Anyway, if you are worried about what you do, then you have to moderate your own behavior and "behave".

It's not up to me to get you fired for your own junk postings. I cannot "do" anything if you don't misbehave in the eyes of your employer.

There is already a wide consensus that you behave in a terrible (as in obscene or objectionable) manner. This crosses the boundaries of customer vs non-customers.

If that is something you actually worried about then you should have a silent talk with Josh (your alter ego) about cleaning up your postings when they occur to you just before you type something up.

If what you type can actually get you fired, then that is the first sign that something you are doing is very wrong in the eyes of an employer. I guess it should be kinda obvious, but apparently it isn't the case.

You are easily the most deluded individual I have ever had the misfortune of meeting, Yajaira, especially given the fact that you're almost 60 years old and you're on here babbling like an idiot nearly 24/7.  You'd think by the time someone was your age, you'd have a more firm grasp on life.  But too late now, eh?  Wasted life...

You haven't taken action. That is something worth actually doing on your part.

@ Inaba

It appears I will have to get in contact with BFL to rectify this issue of harassment.

You are not welcome to post my personal identity or any kind of identifiable information. Doing so results in cyber stalking and online harassment.

@ Moderators

Please issue some corrective measure for this man.

Yeah, I guess that goes right along with you reposting my personal pictures and information, huh?  Good luck with that.

If you don't want your personal information public, don't post it on the internet.  Duh.  Do you see me whining and crying about you taking down my personal information that you've posted?  No, you don't... because I know if I post it on the internet, it's out there and there's nothing I can do about it.

Wrong-O, my good man.  The only information posted here has been made publicly available by you.  I've not threatened to get you fired, come to your house or do anything (except issue a restraining order for you) with regards to you.  I'm neither stalking nor harassing you.  If you stopped posting about me or my company, we would have zero interaction... you, my friend are the one that is classic stalker.  I don't follow you around and hang off your every post.  In fact, look what thread you're posting in... does it say "PuertoLibre's personal thread" or even "Yajaira D Guevara's house" as a thread title?  Nay, sir!  It does not!  It says "Announcement - ASIC mining processor by Butterfly Labs."

If you find any information which you would like me to take down, you can notify me via PM. I will be glad to do so. My inbox is open and waiting to recieve your notices of such requests. I am making myself available to process such request(s).

Further, if you notify me of something that you do want me to take down, you should also contact any other folks posting such information to establish that you do not have some kind of established vendetta or personal bias against one specific individual (namely me).

I am happy to comply. You should do the same, as you have been personally notified that I do not want personal information to be posted.

This is an official notification of such to you (Inaba).

See, that's not how it works.  Once it's been posted, it's posted for good.  Removing it after the fact is immaterial, so me requesting you to remove something when the "damage" has already been done is just silly.  What's done is done and you can't take it back, sorry.  The internet is forever, welcome to the 21st century.  You have posted pictures of me and my family and attached derogatory comments, you simply can't take that back, dude.

Your personal information is public knowledge man (Fashion bags, really?)

I'm not posting anything that isn't already spread far and wide on the internet.

Then, I will resolve the matter in a different manner. You have made it clear to me that you do not intend to comply with the request.

Let it be noted that I am not the originator of your personal information on BitCoinTalk.org.

Oh, my mistake... because you aren't the originator, it's ok to repost and make derogatory remarks about my family?  Really?  That's how it works? So it's ok if I call your daughter, Katherine, a pig and post a picture of her?  No, it's not ok and I wouldn't do that.  She's got nothing to do with it and hitting her with collateral damage because her father is a complete moron is not right.  To that end, making derogatory remarks about my brother is equally unacceptable, but THAT's ok, as long as you aren't the originator.  Is that it?  Is that how it works in your warped little brain?

See, that's the difference between you and me.  I'm not hiding behind anonymity and posting a bunch of verbal garbage.  I man up and take ownership of what I say on this forum (and elsewhere) - you want to hide behind anonymity so you can post your insults, lies and slander anonymously.  So... keep posting your bullshit, at least people will know who the real douchebag behind your alias is and who to attribute your lies to in real life.
