Title: SSH Problems
Post by: cowboy0629 on April 07, 2016, 01:34:15 AM
Hi All... I know I have been searching for the answer but can not find it as of yet..

I am new to mining and my ASIC Antminer S1 just arrived today.. I had no problems getting it setup and mining with a pool...

I am having problems setting up the SSH for it.. I was getting connection refused but now I am getting this

Michaels-iMac:.ssh michaeldennison$ ssh -v v -p 28 root@192.168.2.100
OpenSSH_6.2p2, OSSLShim 0.9.8r 8 Dec 2011
debug1: Reading configuration data /etc/ssh_config
debug1: /etc/ssh_config line 20: Applying options for *
ssh: Could not resolve hostname v: nodename nor servname provided, or not known

I don't know why the date and time is different then what it says on the web interface either...

if someone could help or point me in the right direction I would greatly appreciate it..

thanks
 Mike Dennison

I've never used any parameters just ssh 192.168.x.x to connect and it works just fine.

As for the web interface it's adjusted for the time zone you choose.  Did you set that up?

Thankyou for the quick reply...

Sorry I have been busy at work .. have not been too worried about the ssh yet because it has been mining.. but I did solve the problem

I found that I can change the IP address from 192.168.1.99 to a ip of my choice my network router uses 192.168.2.1 so I changed the antminer to 192.168.2.100 everything worked but the ssh...  So the other night I changed my router to use the subnet 192.168.1.1  and changed the antminer to 192.168.1.100 ssh started working instantly.. now my only concern is I want to get the thing to use a different port then port 22 because port 22 is not secure... as soon as I change the port now I get connection refused.. change it back and it works... so I am not sure what to do at this point

I guess I will just leave it at port 22 unless anyone knows what the problem is

thanks
 Mike D

hows port 22 not secure? unless you have a bad router or infected pc noting from the web should even get into your network from the net. you can always change the password. log in to ssh and type passwd (pretty sure its that) and enter new password for the root ssh

You can use this site to figure if your port is open.. if you need to open your ports.. http://canyouseeme.org/
