Title: Seriously! Banned my Gleb account.

Sorry Gleb Gamow, you are banned from posting or sending personal messages on this forum.
Do not post multiple times in a row, eg. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1445978.msg14622465#msg14622465 . Instead, edit your post. (1 day)

You know how unstable I am and all. 1 DAY! That's like forever. I'm seriously thinking about killing myself.  :'( :'( :'(

Seriously, a simple PM from a mod would've been more than enough to put me back on my paper.

FWIW, I firmly believe that Chantha Lueung et al. may have had an active role in getting me banned. I've been working on his "ring" for over 24 hours now and he knows it.

Seriously, mods, next time just PM me if I get outta line. I've never been an asshole (I don't believe) to any mods, etc., on this forum.

That said, I'll serve out my ban, but will kill myself next time it happens.  8) 8) 8)

Later, guys.

PS: I won't be evading this ban via this or any other account under my control, but may PM via this account. Please advise/PM me if that's not allowed (PMing).

Gleb I was wondering when this was going to happen and I'm not surprised in the least that it finally did--not that I'm complaining and I've never reported your consecuposts.  You got caught in a crackdown.   SebastianJu did as well a little while ago for the same thing.

Like I said, a simple PM warning would've suffice for my spammin' ass. Needless to say, it was a scammer who yelled loud enough to get me banned, ergo I'll fuck him regardless. HAHAHA

A one day ban is essentially a slap on the wrist and is essentially a stern warning not to break this rule. The majority of bans are at least 3 days (with many much longer). If you ask nicely it is possibly that BadBear and/or theymos might lift your ban early (if your ban has not already expired).

I would say however that I do not agree with this rule, especially when there is no paid signature involved. Posting multiple times does have clear benefits as it makes it very clear that you are making multiple points in relation to a particular topic. Making one post and then a subsequent post immediately after helps empanthesize the second post and would be beneficial to someone making a series of points concluded by a strong/important point.

On the other hand, someone with a paid signature has a clear incentive to make multiple posts, often times responding to posts that was not directed towards them and that has nothing to do with them in order to pad their post count.

I would strongly encourage the moderation team to increase the consecutive post limit to above "one" especially when there is not a clear case of paid post padding and to be very liberal when enforcing this rule, especially with those without a paid signature.

Thanks, bud. I'll accept the ban in the spirit of the rule(s), with no need to ask for favors from any mods.

Condolences Gleb. Use the opportunity to go outside get some air :). I have a feeling this will backfire for that Lueung character.

The multipost rule if applied literally to your posts gets a bit ridiculous. You would end up posting 3-mile long walls of text.

IIRC I did warn you about this in the past...

Having a few consecutive posts every now and then when you don't have a paid sig isn't a big deal, but PG/GG does it habitually. The issue with this is that it unfairly bumps topics (like bumping a topic more than once per 24 hours) and it spams "watchlist", "show unrelad posts since last visit", etc.

Indeed. While it is technically 'against the rules', we don't usually punish people which aren't signature campaign participants for breaking this rule; at least not until there have been multiple cases of abuse.

Very easy. Such short bans are not a common sight.

I would strongly encourage the moderation team to increase the consecutive post limit to above "one" especially when there is not a clear case of paid post padding and to be very liberal when enforcing this rule, especially with those without a paid signature.
There's no need to do that. Unless you have a habit of making consecutive posts, you will not get punished for making them occasionally (if you are not a signature campaign participant or have no other incentive to make them).

Thanks, everybody, for coming to my defense, but I believe theymos is correct, thus will correct my error when I return.

Thank you, themos, for weighing in.

BTW, is that fishing trip still on next week between you, I and several mods? (humor for those thinkin' that I'm a BCT ball cupper  :-*)

Take a break man. I imagine that a lot is going through your head right know but I don't really know what to say to comfort you. Most of the time I enjoy reading your posts, but you really do post too much and serial posts in a forum might not be the best place to express yourself. Have you ever considered getting your own blog in which you'd be able to post freely?

I believe the rules state that all my alts are banned including this one, but allowed to post in META (here in this section). I have no intentions of breaking the rules, thus being permanently banned and have theymos and I's fishing trip cancel.  :o

Thread now unlocked. I'm not sure if my Gleb account is still banned, but I noticed that the notice is gone when I logged into it. I'm logging out from the Phin account and logging in with Gleb to see if I can post in this thread. I thought I still had an hour or two to go, but I could've easily been mistaken given that I was busy researching shit to better the community (ironic, ain't it?) between postings when I noticed the ban.

That sounds fair enough, however I would think that someone with a thread on their watchlist would want to be notified when new information is added to a thread, and making a second post would notify such person while an edit will not. Your point about it bumping threads more then once per 24 hours is valid though.

I believe it is right after the picnic for those who are on DefaultTrust.

<EDIT: guess I'm unbanned>

Yes, I have on several occasions posted b2b2b2b... but it never crossed my mind to purposely spam a section, e.g., the Scam section of late, albeit am well aware that that's the end result(s). During my investigations it's not uncommon to come across new info in a short period of time that I deem important for inclusion to a thread that's not necessary related to a previous post posted only minutes earlier.

Now that I've been slapped (thank you, sir, may I have another  ;D), I'll do my best to abide by the rules that's not written anywhere (and if they were, I probably wouldn't have read them).

In closing, blame the mod who banned me last night if you lost any moneys due to me not being able to post to protect you from scammers.  :P :P :P

While banned, an alt can post limitedly in the Meta section, and I kept my posts in one thread commenting on posts. My posts were also not vitriol in nature, showing no disrespects to the mods or admins outta fear of having my paid-for fishing trip cancel.  :P :P :P

I don't think Gleb was actually breaking the duplicate post rule when he was posting in this thread as all of his posts were responding to a post made subsequent to his previous post in this thread.

Yes QS is right.
It does no violate the rules to use an "alt" whilst banned (though most are banned).
It isalso not a violation to respond to individual people in a thread. He is not posting consectively.

Of course its not a rule violation its just a demonstration of how much of a rampart poster you are and why its inevitable you'll get caught up in bans every now and then. I could also reply to every post in this thread and every other thread, continually . Is it double posting - no. Is it against any obvious rule - no. Is it too much - yes.

I see a lot of posts in the press section by the same members (wearing sigs) sometimes 4 and 5 in a row; within minutes if not seconds of one another.  What exactly is the threshold for a ban?

Are those posts consecutive in the same thread and by the same poster? That would sound like a bannable offense.

I'll be a son of a bitch! So Bitcoinpro's scam thread on my scammy ass stemmed from his humorous post here (which I wasn't aware existed till now since don't visit Meta much). I guess it's also from here that Chantha Owen Lueung glean some content for his thread designed to destroy his brand Crypto-city (see my last posts if not up to speed).
