Bitcoin Penny™ also has a Special Edition roll, which contains 40 specially minted coins. They contain BlackSeal™ NFC (Near Field Communication) anti-counterfeit technology and only 10 rolls will be produced for this series. The roll costs 1BTC so 0.025BTC for a coin. We, as a group, could order one of these, but I would have to know upfront that all of the 40 coins will be purchased.

Extra costs

---

• We might need to pay VAT (21%) to import the Bitcoin Pennies™ into The Netherlands, which is the largest extra cost we have (we do not have to pay import costs).
• The disbursement fee of the used postal service (UPS charges €11.25, PostNL €17,50, EMS €17,50, etc.).
• The bubblewrapped envelopes. €4 for 10 pieces.

Terms

---

• The group buy won't happen if not at least 10 coins (excluding Special Edition ones) are ordered.
• The group buy will be closed for new participants when May ends or interest drops.
• Once the group buy is closed for new participants the final price will be determined (potential discounts might be applied at that time) and split between the participants.
• Any BTC that is left over (because the package wasn't checked, the BTC value went up, etc) will be evenly distributed between the participants.
• If we are somehow short of BTC, I'll cover it up front. The amount of BTC will be evenly distributed between participants. Your package won't be sent if you don't pay your part of the debt. If you don't pay at all, your Bitcoin Penny™ will be auctioned off to cover the cost and any leftovers are kept.
• Terms can be changed at any moment, so please keep track of them (important announcement will be posted in the thread).

By doing this I don't need to wait for another package from the US (which means more shipping costs and more, possible, VAT).

Not sure it's exactly wise to have a donation address right above the payment address. Chances are a few taxes won't have to be paid and you keep the remainder anyway.

If you've read OP, you would know that's not (entirely) true.


If you (for example) check one of the last group buys (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1353608.msg14457720#msg14457720) Mitchell organised, you'll see that's exactly what he did.

I have bought through a Mitchell group buy before,it was well organized and in return for that many people allowed him to keep the remainder - that was all that was implied.

The way this was worded made it sound a bit strange. When I first read it it sounded like you where implying that I ask people to pay for potential VAT so that they are more likely to give it to me. :-\

After reading it a second time I understand that you have something against the donation address itself and I agree with you. It could cause problems and isn't necessary, so I've removed it from the OP and won't include it in future group buys.

Oh, yes. I do apologize for forgetting to post an update here. The package was mailed out yesterday, and Mitchell has all the tracking details. I've also made sure that my doodles -- 10 of them, one for each of you :) -- are extra awesome!  ;D (Just kidding, I'm a horrible artist. But I honestly am proud of those 10 doodles. Probably some of my best doodling.)

Lately, all international packages have been arriving suspiciously early, often within one week. The Netherlands postal system may be different, and the package is a little larger (which means it may be more subject to random customs inspections). But I'd guess it should arrive to Mitchell by 5/23 or so.

I don't want to pollute the thread, but was this guy flagged as red when he placed the order? It is quite a bad track record he has accrued, lots of scam complaints and if he bought these items with scammed money maybe it should not be released to him.

Yes, he was red when he placed the order. If you can proof that he bought the coins with scammed coins I would consider not shipping the coins to him. Until then he is just another group buy participant.

He's a MSDN reseller, which normally get flagged quite by Vod, mexxer and others (me including).
You could now aruge whether or not violating the TOS of microsoft in order to get things cheap is a scam itself, but this is most certainly not the place to.
(I personally think he should not be excluded from this group-sale, though.)

The package hasn't arrived yet, but I can see on the PostNL website how much we have to pay the package, which is €64.09. I calculated €61,55 so I messed up somewhere, so I'll cover that difference. Anyway, I'll make sure I've got the money when the package guy comes knocking.

The error was likely mine while calculating the value for postage. (I likely listed full values for the items instead of reducing those values to match our 10% forum member discount.) I insist that I cover the extra costs.
