polls are rather useless on this forum because anyone can abuse it by making multiple accounts. can we have the option to make a the voters public in the new forum? this won't stop the abuse but at the very least people can see clearer result of a poll.

So you're essentially saying that we should completely de-anonymize polls? I disagree. If it does come to this one day, I will definitely stop voting in most cases.

I did say option. it means it would be optional. and to make it more clear, automatically add a notice saying "your vote will be published".

and with the way how polls currently are, most sensible users wouldn't even care about their results.

Okayn, that makes more sense. I have probably missed that word at first. The polls could use more option anyway. I wouldn't mind it then, since the user could just choose not to participate in those polls (without having to avoid all  forum based polls).

Are pole voters visible to the thread starter? I thought they were.  ???

nope. even if they are, it won't do any good if no one else can see them.
