Title: Perfect open air, and stackable mining case! $44 from Amazon
Post by: CubedRoot on June 10, 2011, 02:15:15 PM
I think I may pick one of these up for my next rig:

Its stackable, and its open air for good air circulation.

Does anyone have one of these to give some feedback on it?  It looks alot better than the newegg boxes and pizza boxes most rigs are cobbled together in  :)

To make it stackable it costs 61 USD.

Also only 7 slots in the backside, so not 100% useful for setups with more than 2 cards (if you leave an empty slot of space between cards)

In the end I would prefer a case where you can mount GPUs via extenders on a different level than the mainboards - bonus points for extenders already included.

http://www.cablesaurus.com/ sells such cases, but at a quite high rate for my taste. I would in the end just build an IKEA Lack rack and do the missing stuff like a bar for GPUs to rest on and a mainboard tray in one afternoon...

I have and using several LACK tables all for my racks and networking gear.  What do you mean putting the missing bar?  It doesn't look like bars would easily go in there to hold the GPUs.  Do you have an example pic?

If you look at the picture on cablesaurus, there are 2 bars holding the GPUs: 1 in the "front", where they are attached via screws and 1 in the "back" where their rear ends are resting upon (behind the CPU cooler on https://cablesaurus.com/index.php?main_page=popup_image&pID=14)

I would esentially build the same "case" as on cablesaurus (a few bars + 1 plate for the MoBo). 2 of these should fit into 1 Lack rack I think.
