Hello Everyone

If you are not using DuckDuckGo.com (DDG) for your search you should. DDG is a search engine that does not engage in identifying user's search requests to target further results... All clicks exit DDG over a torr network so your exit clicks are anonymized. As most of you know this is the exact opposite of the industry standard.

I have spent some time creating Bitcoin utilities for the search engine. Here is a glimpse of things to come but if there is something missing your you would like to have a customized plugin let me know here.

Here are some features in testing at DuckDuckGo

search the balance of an address

trigger => 'bitcoin check', 'btc check', 'blockchain check'
    e.g. => blockchain check 1TiPSeJkkVCw2QhwqoZVHGGcQYbLzgKDW

Get Curent Exchange Rates

converts currency pairs from Mt. Gox
provides chart if no initial value is provided from bitcoincharts.com
trigger => "usd to btc", "btc to usd", "aud to btc" etc.. e.g. => 5 btc to gbp *gives conversion

Bitcoin Charts

provides chart of 5 day usd/btc chart
    15 min ticks
updates every hour 24 hours a day
trigger => "btc chart","charts btc", "chart btc", "bitcoin chart", "bitcoin charts"
Defualt USD/BTC Chart => charts btc
Specific Currencies e.g. "btc to gbp"

Doesn't work for me, top link I get is this thread.

And anyway do you really want google to know every bitcoin address you've ever looked up?

DDG is my default search engine so don't get me wrong. Still I can't say I'm impressed as long as google just provides better hits by automatically linking both blockchain.info and blockexplorer.org

Been waiting for this for a while.  I requested they add a !blockchain feature a while back, but this is the first I've heard of them doing bitcoin-related dev.

I do love DDG, but I don't think it's actually the DDG team that is working on these bitcoin plugins. One of the cool thing about DDG is that anyone can make plugins. All you have to do is fork one of the DDG repositories, develop your plugin, and then submit a pull request. If you've made a good, useful plugin they might integrate it into the live search engine.
