Especially regarding hosting as once the site is built its built if that makes sense. Except for bugs, upgrades and maintenance on the site itself - any ways to hire to solve this?
On top of this, as well as being anonymous, if one needs to be fully sure they are in control of the finances and not liable to being hacked what are the options? My guess to this one is too completely separate the customers BTC wallets from the site itself and try to keep them hidden but I am not very knowledgeable on the subject, merely an investor. A site that simply sells something is not too difficult to operate anonymously and do so securely as the site itself handles no finances. Instead if you are providing a hosted (shared) EWallet for your customers (e.g., like the balance for a wallet used for placing bets) then security is a much more complex task. Cause if I am a hacker and I get into your machine and I figure out where the code is to display your addresses, to the costumers, then I just replace that with an address, it could take a week or two and if your site is popular that could be 100's or even 1000's of bitcoins. So there is alot to think about, other wise just use bitpay or mtgox services in that department and you don't have to worry.

"I am only a webhost, It's not my job to prove who a person says he is. I do warn my customers, according to ICANN rules if they use false information to purchase a domain name ICANN has the right to take it away from them. Although I haven't heard of them doing so for several years now. They no longer are even sending the emails once a year like they used to to verify accuracy of whois data" And "Recently, it has come to our attention that state-sponsored cyber-criminals from China and other authoritarian regimes have been caught red-handed in our newspapers, corporations and government servers in the US, and probably throughout the world. Therefore, I cannot in good conscience jeopardize my global customers, who may be being hunted down like a dog by a state and their very life may depend on the political views that they may or may not express on my server. Therefore, I feel obligated to protect my customers by setting this server to send all logfiles to /dev/null automatically, several times daily, unless they express in writing that they specifically want to keep them". |
