Coinbase Exchange is rebranding to GDAX and will support ETH/BTC and ETH/USD trading soon. LTC/BTC and LTC/USD in the works!

It's about time.  These high volume coins need more exchanges to be in.

yeah, its more important its old one and nice to see its having still its community and support, even its not developed actively with innovations like btc, but i guess, just because there is no urgent need to push it harder.

ltc is a dinosaur in a good way.

ethereum on coinbase it is good news and price of ethereum will going up i guess.

With BTC at the lower side of the upward wedge and LTC following in synchro (with greater magnitude) this is clearly the purchase of the month.

Bitcoin has lost some breath lately burdened with full blocks, Litecoin helps carry the burden. Does someone have a link of all merchants who accept LTC?

very interesting. This and the new road map for LTC is shaping up to be a better year for the silver crypto. I like the fact LTC is like BTC but with a more united team making decisions. The devleopment to this point has been all it has needed to be. It has worked fine at what it was designed to do.

I always use LTC/doge for transactions if there is that option. Can't stand waiting for btc.

If it was added on it's own, yeah. But all the attention (and money) are now with Ether. The litecoin price hasn't really moved with this news.

This will be fun, as long as they don't go mental and start adding tons of coins this is good news, ETH is on the rise so why should they be losing out on all the fees :)

There is nothing mental about adding more popular coins. Once they add their 2nd coin, Bitcoin only "virginity" is lost and they won't stop as long as there is demand for other coins :)

Definitely it's going to be a big leap on it's price where Bitcoin is there goes ethereum it's now a competition between the two and every body loves it..

There was a thread about if ltc was going to $10 this year, and I think I said it had no chance in hell of doing that.   Now if Coinbase is rebranding and listing it, it just might.  Not sure if it's actually worth that but look what this is doing for ethereum.

So the Ethereum price could rise further when it is listed in the Coinbase. The litecoin price could also rise.

Finally, now all they need is dogecoin in order to get the complete set!

I think doge will be added shortly. It has to be the next one.

I agree with you, lets hope dogecoin gets put on coinbase soon.

Looking back the excitment people had when mtgox announced that they considered LTC

It probably will respond late as right now the spotlight is on Ethereum.

Not necessary to react now, LTC is too stable, stable like a rock, no problem if it's not responding to the news, we don't need pump and dump LTC like ETH Trash

$10 is totally feasible in 2016 if Coinbase pulls this rabbit from the hat. It doesn't take many new buyers to swing the LTC market.

God don't say that in public....I damn near choked on my breakfast. I still have 1000 LTC not converted to BTC and am mining 308 LTC a month
(before electric thou at that price who the heck cares what elec is) and equip in 6 weeks will ROI on 3rd titan (lost 6 weeks in mining to cover it in LTC then back to LTC

Actually kinda shocked ANYTHING is happening with LTC in this manner...usually it is months of nada ...just saying....at least it is 'something' down the road thou it may be :)

but again imho will have to be before halving for any price impact because if ethereum is a done deal by then and LTC is not ..it will be a big yawn if they were say to

have it come into play say Oct or some such....at least for helping the coin with crypto cred and maybe price bump

Yeah, it is nice to have a cryptocurrency with a real history that's still around and thriving in its way. Gives ya hope for the future.  :)

If they are adding LTC and ETH, they can go ahead and add a lot more.
Once you join the party, you can go all the way.  :)

Finally they did so. GDAX is really awful, Coinbase was a lot better. I'm satisfied that Ethereum will rejoin them soon :) !

Its a fantastic news, i had used coinbase for a long time and its been so good, and after hearing it will add another coin to the wallet its feel great, it will add the value of ltc and ethreum, i hope coinbase will add another coin again

Most likely.

Once added, Coinbase would be incentivized to market Litecoin in conjunction with its point of sale system. The combined effect of Coinbase, GoCoin and a well-trusted global LTC market (China in particular) should lead to a cascading chain-reaction of similar adoptions, thus exponentially widening its market power.

More interestingly though is the very-long-term prognosis, which could yield some interesting wildcards. One such example is the concept of antique. As the years turn into decades and the emission rate dwindles, Litecoin may well turn into something of a collectors coin, which could inject an economic dimension into the situation thus far not considered.
