Title: Deleting Posts From The 2bacco main thread for no reason?

Deleting Posts From The 2bacco main thread for no reason?

I received a complaint from a user at bitcointalk.org

He was posting on the 2bacco coin main thread,

and then sent me a personal message telling me:

Quote
i got message from you deleting my posts from your forum. i was only supporting your coin, don't worry will not only not post anymore, will have nothing to with your project at all.
[/b]

But, I did not delete any of his post(s) at all.

To my knowledge he only posted once on the 2bacco thread

here:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1096693.msg14974141#msg14974141

and all he said was this:
Quote
Interesting project. Following...

and I replied to him in my next post after that.

Thank you for your interest in 2bacco coin, you can be a part of Team2bacco

Do you mine crypto coins?

2bacco coin needs miners to mine 2bacco coins, there is blocks to be found,
and it will help the wallet to synch, and enable people to move their coins to and from the exchanges.

Other than that, I didn't see him post on the 2bacco coin thread, but I am not watching the thread all of the time.

But I want to get to the bottom of this, are his posts being deleted from the 2bacco coin thread?

Are any other peoples posts being deleted from the 2bacco thread without my awareness?

I post this here to try and get some answers, I don't like being accused of something I did not do,
if someone is deleting posts from people on the 2bacco thread, then I wonder why?

Thank you

It was very likely removed for being unsubstantial. Just tell him to read the PM and it will state whether you or a mod deleted it.

Edit: That post by him is still there. Without knowing what the content was can't really help you further.

i will tell you what it said. Got message, told me I was posting bad things of sorts and should watch in future what I post. seriously fucking pissed me off, since I was only supporting and trying to help out. Dev just messaged me and said he was not responsible for this, in that case...guess maybe he was hacked?

Actually I posted twice. I was thinking maybe it is those damn anti-smoker groups making false reports.

If it was a double post then that's why. You can edit them into one.

saying I was deleting peoples posts when I didn't do that?
How many other posts have been deleted from the 2bacco thread,
with a message accusing me of doing that?

Anyone else have their post deleted from the 2bacco main thread?
And did you get a message saying that I deleted it?

Was there someone who reported any post to the mods?

Or is the mod targetting the 2bacco thread to delete posts?

Since it happened this time, I am wondering if it has happened other times too?

Yes, you are likely being targetted. Sadly, several mods are in the pocket of the vape lobbying industry and are trying to smother anything tobacco related related around here.

I deleted the post right now as per this:

If the deleted post is in any way similar to the one I just deleted, please (both the OP and the poster) read the stickies next time: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=703657.0 (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=703657.0)

By any chance, was this the message?:

A reply of yours, quoted below, was deleted by a Bitcoin Forum moderator. Posts are most frequently deleted because they are off-topic, though they can also be deleted for other reasons. In the future, please avoid posting things that need to be deleted.

If it was, can you quote the post that goes bellow the message (the content of the deleted post)? Then the staff may be able to tell you why the post was deleted.

If you quote a post and reply to it and then that quoted post gets deleted, your post might get cleaned afterwards because then you're replying to a non-existing post.

Why? If the quoted post is not insubstantial or breaking any rules, it should not get deleted.

If someone signs a message, I quote it (so it would stay even if he edits/deletes the post), he deletes it, my post gets deleted too?

You're asking the wrong question. If you quote post A (i.e. directly reply to it) in post B, and post A gets removed, then post B would be replying to something that does not exist. Similar things happen when people reply to spam, the only difference is that the bots get nuked.

As an out-of-context example:
If someone signs a message, I quote it (so it would stay even if he edits/deletes the post), he deletes it, my post gets deleted too?
That's a special case example.

As a example: If you just deleted the quoted post, my post would not make any sense at all.

Update 1: It wouldn't. Keep in mind that I've used the word "might" in my initial post.

It absolutely would. The content of the deleted post would still be there in your post, so anyone reading it will be able to understand and make sense of the contents.
If I deleted the post, your post would still make sense and the OP and any other who are interested in this topic and are reading it will be able to understand that quoting a post that later got deleted could get deleted too.

I still don't see why it should be removed just because the quoted post was deleted.

It could also imply that if an OP is edited as to suggest a significant change in topic, all the posts on the thread (especially the ones quoting OP) will become irrelevant and should be deleted  8)
(Well all the posts would be off-topic, so it could be justified than the above case but do mods actually do that?)

Update 1: It wouldn't. Keep in mind that I've used the word "might" in my initial post.

It would. :D
It isn't like we are the only two persons in this forum. The content of the deleted post could be useful to anyone.

I am taking "might" to mean most of the time, such posts can be justified of getting (/deserve to be) deleted.
