Good luck Title: Re: [FS] All aluminum open-air case frames for GPU mining Post by: Brewins on May 29, 2016, 06:51:01 AM I was wondering if you can do a build with the Wide Version but 4 tall and 2 wide. I would prefer it be a single unit as opposed to 8 individual linked units. I suppose the only difference would be the main vertical posts would be solid and not linked.

Title: Re: [FS] All aluminum open-air case frames for GPU mining Post by: FlensGold on June 03, 2016, 07:23:52 PM Is there a suggested min. length for the GPUs?
Finally I managed to assemble the rig (not easy when doing it for the first time and maybe I did something wrong), but my Sapphire Radeon R9 380 GPUs seem to be too short for laying on the "back" beam. So they can only being held by the screws on the front beam, I am not really happy with that. Or did I assemble something wrong (so an answer to my question above would be appreciated)? Kind regards Title: Re: [FS] All aluminum open-air case frames for GPU mining Post by: Spotswood on June 03, 2016, 07:32:21 PM Is there a suggested min. length for the GPUs? He has been doing this for a long time , and I ordered a few of my first gpu rigs from him back when mining litecoin lol. Here is a custom creation he very recently built or me, and was very patient going over every detail for the perfect fit. building the shell: https://i.imgur.com/kboxtxK.jpg https://i.imgur.com/OhxgKrN.jpg populating: https://i.imgur.com/P5SJKUq.jpg https://i.imgur.com/dLqpsmn.jpg https://i.imgur.com/l2ggqaE.jpg Each tier slides out individually, there are 4 tiers in a rack, for a total of 8 GPU rigs (6 GPU's per rig, 2 rigs per tier). I am still working on populating them all, but the workmanship was superb, and I will always recommend Rich to anyone looking for a custom case. :) Thanks! I currently use just a single GPU and am targeting 6 character addresses for myself but if i could find a build for say a 6 GPU vanity address rig and target 8 or 9 charecter address i would for sure get one of these frames to house it in a heartbeat.

ATM one MB with 3 cards, but using win7 and can't get more to cards detected even though MB has 6 slots. I was going to try Linux and see if I can get 6 cards on the MB running which would be 12 GPU since each card is 2 GPU's. ATM using EVGA 1600 Plat PSU for 3 cards, if I can get more then 3 on the MB, then I would use 2 x 1300 EVGA or 2 x 1600 EVGA. If all 6 cards work on the MB, then prob use 3 X 1300 EVGA and use the 1600 on another rig. How much would a custom setup run me? Title: Re: [FS] All aluminum open-air case frames (new option for 12/13 GPU boards) Post by: salfter on July 23, 2017, 06:35:19 AM This is what you do when your mining frame has arrived, but your risers are still on the slow boat from China and you want to get your mining rig moved into its new home ASAP:
https://alfter.us/wp/wp-content/uploads/2017/07/IMG_20170722_230655929-768x1024.jpg (https://alfter.us/wp/wp-content/uploads/2017/07/IMG_20170722_230655929.jpg) Flip the rear GPU bracket so it's on the outside of the frame, and position it low enough that the GPUs' mounting brackets are just above it. Replace the M4-0.7x6 GPU mounting bolts with M4-0.7x10 bolts and a couple of 1/8x3/4 fender washers (two washers per bolt). For each GPU, sandwich the tab between the washers and tighten the bolt to hold it in place. Cooling would be better if the second and third GPUs were further apart, but that's how the slots are positioned. This is only a temporary measure until the risers get here, at which point they can be spaced a sensible distance apart from each other. Title: Re: [FS] All aluminum open-air case frames Post by: fr4nkthetank on December 15, 2017, 06:35:05 PM Came over to say really satisfied with the frames I ordered. Will order more. Only issue / constructive criticism I might have would be about the motherboard size. For example, I believe in the pics you have extended ATX ? If I take for example a "standard" 6 gpu motherboard like a biostar tb250 it won't fit properly with the standoffs. But no worries it still works, and even if your motherboard is weird, you can always drill new holes (really easy to do).
Overall review of the frames, 9.5/10. Takes me about one hour from scratch to everything installed ready to mine. Takes me about one hour from scratch to everything installed ready to mine. Ah, I see. The spacing of the beams can be adjusted (for less than normal depth boards) and the female-female spacers/standoffs can be bolted to just the motherboard (so the motherboard is supported over a beam). Oh, and I will start to include some extra spacers/standoffs in order to do just that. Sorry! What are the sizes of these new 2 PSU versions with Riser mounts? I assume they won't stack on previous designs that were for 1 PSU? The one PSU model will/does also have the USB support beams. I just haven't added it to this thread just yet. ::) Title: Re: [FS] All aluminum open-air case frames (now with support beams for USB risers) Post by: Eyedol-X on December 22, 2017, 05:40:53 AM What are the sizes of these new 2 PSU versions with Riser mounts? Separately, can I add the riser support beams? Hmm, How about a base large enough for a 2 PSU Frame to Sit on, then some sort of Riser/Coupler to allow the smaller 1 PSU frames to sit on top of a 2 PSU base frame? I'm thinking about building a 2 PSU frame and what to add the riser base to my 2 existing 1 psu frames but I don't want to replace my frames to do this. Also is it possible to get additional clearance between the base of the riser supports and the mainboard? (Taller side posts) - Specifically I want enough clearance have up to a 165mm Heatsink on top of the CPU of the 2 PSU Frame. I have some ideas on a base with outriggers similar to one I got last time but I don't know if you have bandwidth to do something one-off, let me know. Please send me a sketch. If not too complicated, I should have the time. The PSUs are now secured to the frame via three mounting points. https://www.spotswoodcomputercases.com/images/mining/w%20usb%20beams/two%20psu/PSU%20mounting%20points.png Title: Re: [FS] All aluminum open-air case frames (now with support beams for USB risers) Post by: Spotswood on February 09, 2021, 03:54:22 AM bump ;D
