Title: Why DAO paired with BTC?
Post by: bitterbit on May 28, 2016, 08:54:01 AM
Can anyone enlighten me here why DAO is paired with BTC instead of ETH?
https://bittrex.com/Market/Index?MarketName=BTC-DAO

Beacuse all altcoin tarde against BTC. BTC is the standard currency. Using bitcoin will give more volumes.
It depends on exchanges you can find some altcoin/altcoin but its volume is too low to operate it for exchanges.

When DAO is paired with bticoin, more people will trade it. bitcoin is the most popular digital coin. All exchanges have it.

It may sound logic to some, but I don't find it personally. To know if you're in profit compared to the ICO, you need to play with two values, Ethereum price at the moment you bought and now and the price of The DAO in BTC.

I also don't really get it. It was in internal swap on the ETH network, Ether for DAO.

Now people are trading DAO for BTC, does that mean that the DAO isn't really being moved on the ETH network, just the owners are passing the private keys around to each other?

Money laudry ? I don't get your point. Since their money isn't fiat, they don't need to do shady transaction to get it obscured, because no one can already watch what they got.

In Poloniex, we have the DAO/BTC and ETH/BTC pair. At the moment, The DAO price is 1/100 of the ETH price. You can arbitradge them.

Because btc is the most used currency and the longest-lasting currency. You shouldn't expect ETH to be paired up with DAO unless something happens to change that.

Sure thing, I also prefer trading my DAO to BTC than any other currency market.

How does it even matter?
Use a cross exchange rate if you want to track it against ETH.

Considering that no investment in any proposal has been made, which is highly unlikely.

If the DAO spent half of its Ether in proposals, probably more like 0.005

In the Poloniex, there is a DAO/Eth market. You can see the price of DAO in Eth directly. It is about 0.0095 now.
