Title: Bitfog.io --- I say scam
Post by: serje on May 31, 2016, 07:55:16 AM
they pay you to download the miner client with 0.5BTC and they pay 0.05BTC for every referral.
This is BULLSHIT.

I have 32 referrals and a balance of 1.25BTC and already requested 1BTC withdraw and it never showed up in my address.

Also if I want to buy a mining contract from them they don't use the BTC I have in my account ... they redirect me to coinpayments to send BTC to them.

https://www.coinpayments.net/index.php?cmd=_pay&reset=1&merchant=10b2e1e8b3b881ee7e556f1c3be597ca&item_name=Custom%20Mining%20Package&invoice=CUSTOM&currency=BTC&amountf=1.25&quantity=1&allow_quantity=0&want_shipping=0&allow_extra=0

here is their coinpayments profile

so we can add them to scam site list I think!

Thanks.

What was that age old saying again? Oh yeah, if it sounds to good to be true, it is. Of course it's a scam. No sane company would pay you to download a client!

This is your own fault imo. Like Mitchell said no legit company will charge you for downloading their client. Checking the whois info on www.bitfog.io shows that they have no public info and that the website was created 2 weeks ago. You should trust a 2 week old unknown company with 0.5 BTC without checking if they are legit.

Don't worry I didn't put anything in there as I just used some proxy to make some accounts to see if they pay and then to test if you can buy ghs with the btc you get from them ....

I opened this thread because I wanted to help people :)

Did you scan the file before running it?
It's 100% some maleware or backdoor!
Better check your pc right now if you not like to have any problems!

I didn't have to open it as I've tried to download it on my phone ... and an error occurred and they did "credite" my account with 0.5BTC:)))

Please note credited it between "" that means they just have a counter if you click the link and you don't really have to download it. But yet again since it's a scam site what would you expect :)))

This user Dorrittulx (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=459735) has presumably been hacked and is spamming this everywhere

Do you want to get 0.5 BTC Free? And earn 0.05 BTC per referral? Then join this awesome bitcoin cloud mining company! ...bitfog.io/?r=57728

I've seen similar in the past, so I guess some scammer has just dusted off an old script somewhere.
