Title: Bitcoins need to be confirmed? - Help a noob Post by: deepthroat- on June 09, 2016, 10:56:33 PM Hi guys,
I recently sent some bitcoins to my wallet on Electrum, but it says that it needs to be confirmed. I am a complete noob and have no idea what I am doing, I just want to know if I am going to lose these bitcoins, and if not, where they are going to end up and how long the process is going to take. here are the possibilities that come to mind: - the transaction had a low amount of fee included so it is taking a long time to be confirmed : in this case you only have to wait or ask the sender to add more fee - your wallet is not synced yet, you see the transaction but since it is not up to date it shows it as unconfirmed : in this case restart electrum or choose another server and let it sync, also check the tx on a block explorer to see what is its status to make sure. In this case, you can get the transaction id everybody is asking by opening electrum, right clicking on the unconfirmed transaction line and chosing "copy id to clipboard"
