The size of a 10oz coin allowed for a new design on the back.  There is also a version minted in extremely limited quantity (5) with gold highlighting.  I am expecting this to be the final coin in the silver NastyFans Minted Seat Series.

These coins are similar to physical bitcoins you see from Casascius and others.  I'll highlight a few of the major differences. 

First of it's kind!  Coins are tied to NastyFans seats and not preloaded with BTC.  By not preloading these coins with BTC, they are not only cheaper to purchase than their competitors, but the potential is there for the BTC address engraved on the coin to continue rising forever with regular NastyFans BTC distributions, as opposed to being a fixed amount as with similar physical Bitcoin options.  It's like having a Bitcoin miner with no costs or effort to maintain.

No more printed keys!  These keys are engraved, and forever attached to the coin.  A tamper evident hologram is placed over the private key to help alleviate security concerns.

No more firstbits!  Your entire public key is engraved on the coin, eliminating any uncertainty that may exist about your coin's public address.

Sequential vanity Bitcoin addresses!  Know exactly what coin number you hold by the public address.  Each coin begins with 1nasty and is sequentially numbered with the following two characters. 

Limited production batch!  Only 50 coins produced (5 with gold highlights).  Being tied to seats instead of BTC also makes these coins extremely limited, as there are a limited # of NastyFans seats.

Revenue sharing!  With 50% of regular sales being donated to NastyFans, this is a giant fundraiser for all NastyFans.  You know your funds are going back to the Bitcoin community and helping to support a great organization that is dedicated to doing good for Bitcoin.  It is my hope that these coins will provide happiness to existing fans, while at the same time exposing NastyFans to a new group of potential members.

Summarizing (I really should make a flow chart flow chart added below), it works like this.  There are 30,000 NastyFans seats.  Whenever a donation is made to NastyFans, whether it be from sales of coins or from mining; it is distributed in the following way.  25% of the donation is sent to NastyMining and the other 75% is split between the 30,000 seats.

I have another client project to finish first, and I don't have them in hand yet to make sure everything was minted correctly.  However, I think a reasonable estimate for shipping would be 1 month.

That coin is a dinner plate compared to the 1oz and the 1oz could be it's hologram.  Very impressive and thanks for the photo Og!   ;D

I think a 100 oz coin could have 1000 seats. I think you shouldn't be using a mint to produce a coin that large. I think pouring it into a mold would be a lot better

Exactly.  His holograms have certain security features that would be hard, if not impossible to replicate.  Making his holograms, his uniquely identifiable holograms. 

I actually inquired with my mint about doing larger rounds.  It isn't realistic.  The tooling would cost so much, I'd have to charge around $3,000 for each 25oz round.  We already have 50 & 100 seat coins, but I'd be lying if I said I didn't want to produce a 20oz/20seat silver piece of some kind.  I'll think more about that come December and see if there's a way to get something made while still managing to lower the cost per seat from the 10oz coins.

Yes, sorry.  I've been updating on this project in the NastyFans slack group (https://nastyfans.slack.com).

I recently purchased a new engraver that is capable of engraving vector images at 4x the previous quality level.  The images for minted seats have always been generated using custom software.  It took a while to get all the testing and alignment correct in order to update the software.  I believe that I have just completed the final successful test as of about 20 minutes ago, and will be doing a live engraving later today or tomorrow morning.  During this period where I have been working on the engraver upgrade, I have not shipped any minted seats, so there are several orders waiting.  If everything goes smoothly with the live engraving, I should be able to get caught up on all orders in a couple days.  I apologize for the delay, but after consulting with a few others it was determined that the potential quality improvements were worth waiting for.

Take your time and make them perfect!

The larger solid gold coins sell out very quickly while I still have 1g silver coins available from 4 years ago.  The market seems to be telling me that bigger and better is the way to go (just wait for the insanity that is to come).

I'd seriously consider doing a 1kg silver coin if I found a mint that could do it without having to pay for tooling.

I inquired about the necessary equipment to offer the level of quality product I'd like.  It would be around a 200 BTC investment.  I'd love to make it happen, but I think settling for owning the dies will have to be good enough.

The cost is $256 for the coin + $256 donation to NastyFans + the cost of 10 seats.  The seat price is currently ~$27.50, but I give a discount on minted seats charging only $20 each, for a total cost of $712 + shipping when it is added to the NastyShop.  However, since it is not yet listed in the shop, I will give a further $50 discount and accept $662 for direct orders.

Received my 1 oz. silver and I must say it appears flawless down to the perfectly centered hologram.  I would like to see a 1 oz. gold, I would be first in line.

Thanks for the kind words.  A majority of my coins that I've seen graded came back MS69.  I assume the 10oz coins would be no different (if they could be graded).  :)

I still have some of these 10oz silver monsters (plates) available and ready to be engraved.  With Bitcoin back to hitting new highs it could be time to pull the trigger if you've had your eye on one of these beasts to add to your collection.  Go Bitcoin go!  :)

I also don't know if I've ever mentioned this, but these 10oz coins are too big to fit in my engraving machine's holder, so I use a custom holder that requires me to manually place these coins on a flat pad and secure them during the engraving process.  This is not only an extremely manual process, but it's also incredibly difficult given the tiny area that the public keys are engraved onto.  That along with the custom tooling that was required in order to mint these coins, makes these coins difficult for anyone to reproduce.

Thanks for chiming in with your satisfaction.  The 5oz was indeed a great piece and the largest proof-like coin I've made.  The 10oz is admittedly less shiny, but the hurdles to having it created makes it a bit more rare and valuable in my opinion.  With only around a dozen or so left, don't miss out on the chance to add this to your collection as well.  :)  With no more plans to create any more minted seats in the works, this 10oz will likely be the cream of the crop when it comes to silver coins I've created.

I've decided to start posting some of the personal message questions I receive asking questions to the threads so that others with the same questions can have them answered as well.  This one seemed like a good one as I'm not sure how often I've posted the amount of stock remaining.

I was asked what to expect in the form of donations on these coins...  Rather than give my opinion or try to explain where we're at currently or what our plans are for the future, maybe it's best that I just link to the historical information so that people can decide for themselves as I don't control the level of donations that NastyFans receives and have no way to predict the future.  We do make a public list available of all historical distributions though, and that's really all I can point to for people to evaluate for themselves and adjust their expectations accordingly.

last week was 12 sats per seat or 0.00322884 in distributions - I see that last week donation to nastymining was 0.00114613  -  What do these donations go towards as - correct me if I am wrong - nastymining is no longer mining - having sold the miner a while back.
