Since bitcoin is keep on rising in your own strategy or Estimate when will you sell your Bitcoin?

purpose of this poll is to show other people like me who keeps on asking when do you think will be the best time to sell our Bitcoin?

No such exact or target price.

My selling action moves are always based on the current trend and all possible factors rotates around that price.

I originally planned to hold my coins for at least a couple of years...  However, if the price would go past $1000/BTC, my wife would probably force me to sell everything  ;D

if your planning to hold it for a year then the best strategy for you is not to tell your wife that it reach 1000$  ;D ;D

I would have sold my Bitcoins at a price $ 1,100. I think that this price is quite high, and do not really believe that it will rise above. While many analysts say that in 2017-18, the price will be around $ 4,000, but I do not believe them, maybe I'm a pessimist.
In any case, it's the money, and the money is needed to spend. It makes no sense to keep them just in hope.

I will be selling some of my bitcoin raised $ 1100 and save some to see traffic in the next. Because it is possible that the price will be higher and Bitcoin is increased, because the growth of the bitcoin is now much better. It could make the price of the flat above the bitcoin "and there is a possibility next year's standard price bitcoin is around $ 450

selling is for the weak hands, i'm using them on when they can be used for good reason to save even more, purse io is the right example

or using them directly to buy HW on caseking to mine and generate even more, there is really no reason to sell unless you can only pay with fiat...

I honestly think bitcoin has the potential of at least 2k. I'm going to sell only for some quick things that I need to buy, maybe like a knife upgrade on CSGO and a new phone. Everything else i'm saving for the next halving, or maybe the one after that.

To be honest I'm not sure what to do lol. I'm thinking of cashing out a small portion at some point over the next few weeks depending on how the price evolves. I've been meaning to get a Chromebook for a while now  ;D I might not even have to "cash out" actually, I'll have a look on Overstock and see if I like any there and just pay with Bitcoin  ;)

900$ around is good for me, playing safe is good,because its to fast and its so risky for holding this,if the price go higher and higher again maybe i will wait

until 1200$ or if it got decrease i would sell it as soon as possible

If Btc price hits around 1000-1100 usd, i would have to sell 25% of my bitcoins, as it would be enough to pay my utility bills for the rest of the year. ;D
as for the rest of my btc, i think it would be wise to keep holding on to them.  ;)

My plan for quite a while has been that when 1 BTC can buy me 1 ounce of gold, I will sell a few of my bitcoins for gold.
That has looked crazily unrealistic for a while now, but in the last week I have started scouting good places to buy bullion with Bitcoin!

I won't sell them all unless it seems like a very clear bubble to me, like if it was $2500+ in the next week or 2, that would be a clear bubble and I would sell everything. If it rises slowly to $2500 over the next year or 2, I probably wouldn't.

In our country it not yet that that popular thats why my mind set is that bitcoin it is only used for earning extra cash. i never tried buying real things using bitcoin hopefully soon.

Just simple think to sell my bitcoin at the appropriate time, Only wait the is still rising to the top. And after this are happen a little price decrease. And I sell all of my bitcoin at that's time.

To be honest, I can see the long term potential of bitcoin. Since I do not urgently need the money, and I am not holding a lot, I will just hodl and see what will happen... Having said that, I just want set an arbitrary selling price of $10,000.

We should not have to think about selling our bitcoin as each time the price of bitcoin is increasing and it will continue for more years I think, so we should have to use it like currency instead of our usual currency and have to provide stores and places for its uses, so that people feel convenient with it and not sell it.

I'm not selling but if the price reaches 4/5000$ I'll think abuout selling

I was actually thinking of selling if and when the price hits $1000, but now I'm having second thoughts on doing that. With the price of $700 easily within range, and halving still a month away, we might be in for a long and joyful ride. Although nervousness is starting to set in me and I'm feeling a little anxious with the way the price has behaved over the last three weeks or so, something tells me that the best thing to do is hold and wait further, maybe for another year before deciding whether to hold longer or sell everything.

I will sell all if it hit $1000. It's not predictable at all? I thought it was similar to the stock market.

i just sell my bitcoin right now coz i down want to be a stone in near future. i feel scary if someone dump it to the moon. I know there are some big investor in bitcoin they can manipulate its price.i want to be sure winner here.just earn some bucks when it hits 600usd. and i feel its fine to me. its very hard to be greedy lol.

That's true, even I sold some coins at the price range of $650 and I was much satisfied with the profits that I have earned as we don't know what will be the price of bitcoin the very next day.

For me, I will sell my bitcoins when the price reaches $800 plus. It is double than the average price this year.

If the bitcoin reach $1000. but i guess as long as i feel that this is the time that i can earn more profit i will definitely sell all my bitcoin. there's so many prediction that bitcoin will be higher for the coming years so we will see.

Majority of people are holding their coins and will sell when it reaches to $1k and I think now this price can be achieved at the time of halving, so holding till then can be a smart decision.

For me im fine selling and exchanging it to fiat money when it reach $1000-$1100.Because i bought and collect all my bitcoins when it is still $443 each bitcoins so my profit is double now :).That price will be fine for me.

I would sell my bitcoin when i need it , for urgent thing.
It doesn't matter about price when i want to convert it for urgent thing.
Or i'll wait until the highest price of bitcoin can reach , it would be nice to become true  ;D

I will sell at any price that earns me minimum 30-35% profit. Currently, I have already achieved it and am looking for a buyer to sell my coins. I don't feel like waiting till halving as I fear the price would drop and I would incur a loss.

I would sell my bitcoins if prices will hit 900$ because it's enough for me and to wait for more is very risky and the prices might go down and I wouldn't get any profit from it

I'm a guy who don't like risky things so I think it's just me, everyone else are waiting for more and more like 1500$, but not me because i remember last time when price was that large and it fell few days later

i would sell my bitcoins but not for now as you can see the price of the bitcoin is slowly rising i think that the best time to sell your coins is before the christmess because the prise will rise till the end of the year.

Selling is really important if you have Bitcoin because that makes the decision if you are making some profit with Bitcoin so that is really bad.
But you have to know that selling will be not that bad if you are making enough profit because the chance is also that the value can reduce later.

today i sold almost all my BTC for 615 euro. i bought them for 300 euro.

so at the moment i just have 0.3 BTC and altcoins.

what if 35 years from now the bitcoin price is 300$. you will loose lot of money and also feeling of regret. for me i cant hold to long when i reach atleast 50% of profit i sell it.

Only at some new all time high, if it gets to $1500 I'll sell a good percentage.

I think it's risky to sell now, this bull run will go for quite a while.

I think I will start selling some coins today or tomorrow when the price (not in China) reaches $700 for the first time.

It depends on the time and price. I reckon the price will double every year for the next 10 year. If the price is much higher than that level, I will sell.

for  me there's no definite time ,one should  always watch the graph of bitcoin in order to know the right time when  to sell the bitcoin.

I would never sell everything just incase we go to something ridiculous like 100,000 USD per bitcoin in the future.

Well $1000+ would be nice achievement for me and i would like to sell 50% of my coins at that price, my average buy range is around $220 and it is worth to hold them for some time, for rest of my coins will hold them for a long time maybe we will get more higher price in near future maybe in 5figures.

I will sell when we reach $1000 probably, I bought agt around $200 so that is good enough profit for me.

Bitcoin can now be used to purchase many things online from simple web based hosting to Amazon.com giftcard! Why would I want to sell something that is getting popular and may be used as a world's currency in the future?

It's really depend though. I think i will sell my bitcoins when the price reach $750-$800 per each bitcoin, but if the bitcoin's price not increase again, i will sell it directly.

This question is a little bit tricky, because we all want to sell our bitcoins as high as possible, the price now is a good price and if i sell now I'll get profit. But saying the truth i like to sell at 4 digits (everything 1,000+ is welcomed). Bitcoin has potential to go even more higher but let's see what will happen this and next month.

We all are waiting for the price of $1k so that we can sell our coins and grab the profits and I think we might see that price at the time of halving.

For me i will go sell if the price will reach to 900$ because i think thats the decent and the safety price to start selling our coins because the big chance for people to sell it to and i dont want to left behind in selling because i dont want to sell it on down price thats why i will go for that and its enough since i got profit with it in that state already.

Bitcoin has already crossed $700 now and $900 is not a big deal to achieve, I think that will be achieved before we reach to the halving stage.

Id hate to be one of those guys that sold out at around 1000 dollars and then price keeps on increasing to 10k. Would be a good story to tell the kids about how you could have been rich i suppose.

I am not sure. So far I haven't sold any of my coins.
And if the price keeps acting the same way all the way until halving I probably wont sell any coins before halving.
Maybe at around 1000$ I will sell small amount of my coins.

At the moment I will hold and see how the price will develope in.the next days and also what halving will bring.

No one knows when they will exactly sell all of their coins..Even though the price is very high,some keep holding in the hope that the price will increase more and they keep hoping and hoping and donot sell all their coins even at the right time..They just sell a small part of their holded bitcoin..This cycle is common for all..

im still waiting that the price will increase more and show that it will have even more potential in growing a lot in the near future thus allowing me to get a lot of benefits from it

i will sell my bitcoin only if i see that the price will start going down at a very rapid pace thus making all people sell their bitcoins in order to get out from the market, i hope it wont happen

I will sell something when/if the price hits $1000+. Waiting for anything more like $2000 is pure greed and it's possible to occur a panic sell which will bring the price back down to under the psychological threshold of $1000. I missed out on the $1250 value once but I am not going to do the same mistake twice. The Bitcoin bubble can burst at any time so $1000 is my cue to get selling.

It won't happen till the halving for sure but not sure what will be the scenario after the halving, so holding and not selling at halving can be really risky as price may fall after the halving.

When they will be accepted in most of the stores and I can "spend" them. Why "selling" bitcoins????

So you can buy more bitcoins in case price drops.

I don't think price will drop at this stage as halving is coming so we can expect only price rise at a moment, and selling at the time of halving would be the best thing to do.

it would be an easy way of making money then to be honest and i hope this is really possible

im selling my bitcoins after a huge price rise and then im rebuying it back when the price falls

i would sell my coins after wen the bitcoin hit the 1000 each than i think everybody has maked a lot of profit out of the bitcoin and i know for sure that the price of the coin will hit the 1000 each for sure.

it's very unpredictable for me after halving ..

First of all, the proposed selling points in the survey are all waaay too low. We will be at $1000 in a week or two. After the third week, the halving will kick in, further diminishing the supply of new bitcoins that enter the exchanges. And THAN the shit will go fucking parabolic. Whoever sells lower than for $3k will be sorry.

It makes sence to sell your Bitcoins if you think you can rebuy the Bitcoins cheaper, thus increase your Bitcoin holdings. This imply you have trading skills, but traders dont selling or buying all at once - they sell slowly some percentage of their Bitcoin stack as the price goes up, in the hope correction comes.

So selling small part of your Bitcoins wont hurt if correction doesnt come and you might feel better if correction really come. But selling all at once now and then see Bitcoin price stable around 1000 next few years might really hurt.

$1k is easily achievable now and I think we can see that price at the halving or even may be before the halving, as price is going up with a high pace.

Bitcoins aren't for us as even I can't afford to hold more or lose whatever little profit I can earn by selling it now. There are many who advise to hold the coins but it cannot apply to all. I earn coins and sell them. It's not exactly being greedy because all investors want to earn maximum profit.

It's a bit too early to make predictions like this... let's wait and see what the sales volumes will look like, when the Chinese markets calms down. At first I also thought that this spike was only driven

by the Chinese, but I now see increased volumes on US exchanges too. The timing for both of these countries are brewing for a perfect storm.... hopefully one that makes it rain and not too much

devastation in it's wake. The climb is a bit too fast for my liking, because volatility will scare merchants away.  ::)

I will sell if bitcoin touch around 900$ before halving and wait till some dip on halving or just after few weeks of halving to buy back whatever i could.

The fact is there are not many shops available at a moment to spend bitcoin directly, so in that case people need to convert it to fiat first and then spend to buy anything.

Already did. 600$ is more profit than enough to me. I bought some from 400$ and profitted nearly %50 out of that.

Now i am relieved and i don't have to wait the shitstorm coming. Don't be greedy guys or you will lose the profit you already got.

I will start selling in the low 1000's and buy again when the price dips ti 3 digits again. Haven;t sold any so far into the rally. Still waiting.

As for me though, I would probably sell them at $1500, or not. Depending on the value movement. If the value continues to go up, then I'll hold. If the value stagnates, then I'll probably sell. I'll then buy whenever there is movement so I could make even just a little bit of profit.

If we wait till the BTC value get reached to ~$1000 however that's not sure. We need to use this time to make some money. Anyhow if we wait till the price raises where the BTC will be safe in our wallet or not. Not aware of get hacked and losing.

For me its better to watch and observe after halving and wait before selling it early

I think this whole year the price of bitcoin will increase so if you are waiting for the price to come to a peak then you will have to wait the whole year and after that I think you will find some good time to sell.

I voted for the $1100+ Bitcoin price. I have collected some cheap Bitcoins when the price was in the low $300 value and if the price reached above $1000 I would have gotten more than 300% in profit which would be absolutely fantastic and enough for me. I am kinda worried that waiting past $1100 -$1200 is quite risky because in the event of investors cashing out the price will drop fast and we will have missed a perfect moment to make some nice profit like people did in 2013.

Everyone wants to sell it of course at a high value and that is because we want to make some profit and the time must be soon because we waited a long time.
You can see now that the value is going to be more worth but it will be hard to know what is going to happen in the future so that is bad.

Tell your wife that $1000 is not enough for the community of bitcoin, we are expecting a more higher price so have to wait for a longer more and not have to sell them sooner.

I  think I  we'll sell my bitcoinnext year @1000 usd ,because the halving will happen this year . so I thought that he continues to increase until next year .

There is nothing wrong in selling, and I think you sold at the right time as price is really good at a moment and you can buy it again if price drops in coming days.

correct,almost no one know what excatly happen when or after halving,but i pick $1100 for start selling my bitcoin,its good price and almost double from last year,and people have different time to sell,its depend on how much bitcoin they have,though..

This is a good question that's i want to find answer? I must sell all when the price of bitcoin is up to 1000$ ,but I am not sure it's will go up there. so now,i may not buy and will be selling some bitcoins.  :) :) :) :)

Selling is a mistake. A lot of people sold yesterday in the 640 dollar dip an did not buy because they were expecting a correction on the 500 area. Guess what, the correction never came, and all those people didn't buy back, this means they are stuck no with no Bitcoins and all fiat, and they have to pay more now to get in the game again. Never try to play the market or you will get burned.

Yeah $1k will be achieved very soon now, so holding till it reaches to that price is a good decision, and majority of people are waiting to see that price so that they can sell at that point of time.

i am not going to sell bitcoin as long as i don't need the money and i mean only serious need like an emergency. other than that i will continue holding bitcoin until the mass adoption day and a price that is real high and something around the real value of bitcoin. $700-$1000 is just temporary prices here to pass.

I think that everyone wants to sell their bitcoins when the price is the best and that is waht everybody does off course but there will always be stupid people who are selling them by just one falling moment.

Why are you or any other person seeking for the time to sell your bitcoins, bitcoin is also a currency so you should have to keep it with yourself a you keep other currency and use it for the purpose of buying etc, it will be more beneficial for the bitcoin community as with that the price will not go down.

I might sell small amounts when I truly need some money (but I usually have just enough cash in reserve that I don't need to sell) and I might sell a bit if the price is so high that I became a millionaire or something. But other than that I'll never sell.

And even if I become a millionaire from Bitcoin I'll never sell it all.

The poll seems to show a lot of people on here are going very long. I'm there with them but will probably take my profits at predetermined times whatever the price is at that time.

Ill sell all of my bitcoin if it's price touch 1000$ but I think I will sell depending on the up and down of it that will happen this month and on July.

Yeah, and there aren't really a lot of ways to buy and sell commodities with bitcoin yet. I live in a third world country and no one really knows what bitcoin is.

Not all, atleast not me. I don't have any expectations that the price will reach $1k and if it does, I may be the left out one as I plan to sell my coins at $800 or less. Once it reaches such a high amount, I may not get buyers to buy my coins and then would lose all the fiat I invested as well.

i have no plans on selling any of my bitcoins, but it is possible that if the price goes above $1000-$1100 i would sells some small amounts maybe even only 1 bitcoin just to take the money and celebrate with it, but that would be all i am willing to sell at this low prices.
i will wait for much bigger $4000-$5000 prices to sell.

Yeah, if you want to make huge profits then you need to hold bitcoin for long term and at that time your patience level will be tasted, as majority of people lack patience.

but the fact that I would be confused when the right time to sell, because if I sell after halving, I am afraid the price will increase when a few months after halving, or even at the end of the year could reach $1,000.

Ugh. I think you should sell during halving, then buy at the crash. Then sell again later this year.

That is the perfect strategy to follow, selling at halving is the best option as price will be really good, so don't hold to long, if you are making good profits at halving then you should sell it.

currently bitcoin prices already passed $650 few days ago and for short term trade i think i would like to sell my bitcoin if the prices reach to  $700 - $800 and i guess it would not be long for wait because my predictions in the near future bitcoin will be reach to $700 above

Your prediction was correct, it already passed $720 at this stage so I think you should sell your coins and book the profits as its really good price to sell some coins.

I bought my coins when they were $414 and hence when the price reaches $814, I'll sell them. It will be double the amount I invested. The price is already near $700 and hoping that it reaches the next $100 soon. This time there is a lot of speculation with regards to bitcoins and we have something to cheer about.

That's also a good strategy. Setting your goal selling price. I think we might reach $800 by this weekend.

but anyways, I don't have any particular price in mind to sell bitcoin at. I mostly look at the market and if I think this is the top, or in other words a bubble which is about to burst then I will sell some coins to be able to buy more after the fall but in any other case I will continue holding my coins for the longer future.

You can get left behind easily that is right and I think that btc won't hit those levels until after the halving some months because as the rally loses steam in july people will be selling.

Yes, more patience can make you more richer for sure as it is all about bitcoin and the price can go any peak but as we know the chinese market is getting bigger soon, and if they will be using bitcoins then the price will get even into millions for sure.

Exactly and everyone wants to see higher price of bitcoin in future and that is the reason majority of people believes in holding their coins for a long term and that is the right thing to do.

i think many of bitcoin holders are going to sell their coins when the price breaks the $1000 mark and goes above it because of the history and all.

and i think i will do something like that also, but i will only sell some of my coin(s) to take something out of the rise and then wait for more rise.

because i believe that $1000 is just the start of the big rise to come.

and to do that you must have a lot of money and also good patience. because bitcoin prices volatile so anything can happen in the future, if it falls you will be more long to wait. I have preferred to make a profit productive than hold for the long term.

As long as the bitcoin gets used more and the price rises in long term, we will invest in it. I do not trade.

I am in the same boat. I'll never sell all my Bitcoins, I'd like to be able to be paid my salary in Bitcoin one day and spend but never sell them all.

Personally I would still be holding off if Bitcoin hit $1,000; if it is able to go that high then it is more than likely that it can go even higher, and thus there would be more money to be made.

As for whether or not $1,000 will happen this year? Probably not in my opinion, and I think we might still be where we are right now at the turn into 2017. I can see high $700s, but not a lot beyond that. There doesn't seem like there is enough push from the market to get it that high.

I think we will see that price at the end of the year so I think its worth to hold our coins till  that time to earn higher profits from it.

yeah its getting up slowly after halving, mostly swinging aroung $650 to $700 but its better to use for your needs rather only holdings as that is not good for the whole market !

of course right now it is really good to hold all of your coins you have right now, in my opinion in this way you will manage to make a lot of money in a few year

I think the best price to sell bitcoin when prices over $1,000, because the price is difficult to achieve and it is the highest price bitcoin during the last 7 years.

i am a BitcoinHodler so i will always hodl bitcoin forever and will never sell it.

but in all seriousness i can't just say a number and tell you i will sell there because it depends on a lot of things to make a decision on when to sell bitcoin.

i may sell some when price passes $1000 and take the money and celebrate the milestone but other than that i am only hodling bitcoin for much longer time and will only spend it if needs be.

The possible that i think will hit is 800-900 value so if the price hit in that price i will sell it..

If the bitcoin price rise to $1000 in August, I will sell my coins. If it rises to $1000 in December, I will not sell.

i will sell my bitcoins only when it will go to 900$, if this price rise will be very small then i will sell my bitcoins for a bit less, like 800$ just to sell them

$1000 will be nice one for me to sell my coins for very good profit, I am pretty sure before end of this year price will be over $1000, so that I think it will be wonderful gift of Christmas for me and my family.

well i bought my all bitcoin for 390$ each so i think i will sell them when their price will rise to 750$, as even then i would earn a lot of profit

I`m trying not to sell coins, only when I`m without money I sell no matter how much price it is. But in most cases I`m trying to invest money in something, gambling, trading, alt coins, some services. I have one wallet where I put coins from time to time for keeping for long term.
I like to use my coins, and trying to make more is a game for me. Interesting one if I can say, and over the time I learned to make special wallet for long term and there I put some coins from time to tome, other wallets are for spending everyday in casinos, sport books, poker.

Don't panic if price falls in coming days, just have patience to hold it for next few months, price is expected to touch $1k in this year and that would be better time to sell.

hey why you want to sell aside from trading? i would just use it, much easy than going with trouble and selling it for fiat, also no need to worry about exchange run away with your money you keep them in your wallet and use it for buying stuff on the web, i think it's very convenient in this way

Actually my goal is greater than on my vote but it will still be defending on the time if ever ill sell it.maybe the Tim when I don't have any Tim to invest or time to do campaign or I got tired or it seems boring the bitcoining be. But it will always be defending for anything or for the price.for now I don't have any plans

IMO that price would probably be around by the next halving, or a more years after. I just don't see any reason to push the price up that high over the next few years, so maybe by the next halving we'll see.

Yeah i think that price for this year it is impossible even in 2017 we will not see this price unless if bitcoin is locally accepted in every countries.
its better to dont expect right now it takes a long time before we can see this price..

We've touched the 700$ dollar range so I think the potential of Bitcoin's price is higher than that in this year or next year, considering the halving. I'll sell maybe half or a third of my coins once it reaches 1000$ and then see if the Bitcoin's price will decrease a lot or increase a lot. If I felt like it's starting to do a major dump, I'll quickly sell my coins. I don't wanna get stuck in a lower price and wait for a long time before it had a major pump again.

i am also thinking to sell my bitcoin when it will cross all time high price. therefore in present time i am not going to sell my bitcoin, as it is expected that the price of bitcoin will cross the 12000USD level in the end of 2016 or just in the 1st moth of 2017. therefore i have wait tell the price cross 1200 USD level.

My cutoff date is somewhere around 2020. If it hasn't gained some decent ground by that point then I don't believe it ever will so I'll probably cut and run. There's incredible potential still but plenty of potential to fuck up as well.

And by decent ground I don't mean your grandma using it down the cornershop, I mean some proper scaling, ETFs and the like and some kind of incentive for people to actually make use of it beyond ideology.

I would sell few of my coins if the price actually touches above $1100+ once again, as selling at a new ATH would feel great and when you have coins on hand at that time, it would be cool if you sell it at its peak.

With the price of bitcoin looking a bit dismal now, I will sell some satoshis when I need extra bucks and keep the rest.

But i think the thoughs of bitcoin to reach for that far is very blurry,  bitcoin's road to reach for that far is very muddy and provably that could be happen if their are some good things will be happen to bitcoin or massive adoption and store acceptance will be happen for that certain years,  and the best time to sell for me is depending upon my needs because actually i don't look for the price to sell i just look for my pocket if its about to be drained and sold my btc to be used for good.

Hard to decide between 1k or 1k+ because maybe I will just get rid of them at 1k depending on the situation at that moment and if I believe they will go higher. If they are steady rising its dumb to get rid at 1k already but if its up and down then 1k is a good amount

I have to agree with the majority, I’m either keeping it, or selling it once it hits over $1000. I think that would be a reasonable price to book profits, after a long duration of waiting. It could go even higher than that in the future, I believe I do not have that much patience.

Yeah majority of users will sell their coins when they a price of $1k and I think that is a good price to sell bitcoins as it can give some descent profits to its users.

We will see major dump in bitcoins when it will touch that price as almost all users are waiting to see that price and once dump is done it will again bring bitcoin to a lower level.
