While Dog meat can be and is considered food for some poorer countries China Barbarically Slaughters Millions of Dogs using Evil and cruel execution methods every year!  Some of these include boiling the dogs live, Skinning them alive, Hacking them to pieces.  This is a sick twisted practice.

Again i understand some people need to eat what they can but this is just an evil festival.  Do you agree?

To petition (sign a petition) means to ask. If you have to ask, you don't have any authority. If you don't have any authority, your petitioning will only work if the party petitioned feels like honoring your petition.

If your petition fails, stop asking (that's what petitioning is). Rather, make it happen according to the way you want it. In other words, fight.

Let them eat whatever they want. What is your problem? You can't dictate someone else's food choice, as long as they are not stealing from you. If you have the right to eat bacon, mutton and beef, then they have the right to eat dog meat as well. Or do you think that dogs are different from hogs, goats and cattle, and they deserve special treatment?

Yes, maybe they do not have some food to eat, but is there any other animals that they can eat?  Like raising a poultry, a pig, a cow.  And they do it annually, so this is legal thing.  There government should do something, like make a legal move to stop the killing of these beautiful, ever loyal, and sweet creatures. 

How about you extend your "heart" to the millions of other animals that get slaughtered every other day of the year? I don't know how anyone with even an iota of decency can muster up the guts to be righteous and vocal about this when they happily choose to close their eyes to the atrocities inflicted on animals on a daily basis. In case you've been living under a rock all this time and never realized that torture is part and parcel of the modern world, let this be your eye-opener.

I am seriously planning to be Vegetarian even though i eat only chicken but have heard similar news about chickens as well.

I would never knowingly eat a dog, but I would also never stop anyone from doing so if that's what they wanted to eat. When you have a billion people, everything gets eaten. Less people. more dogs :D

I think in a few generations the idea of eating animal corpses will seem utterly grotesque. I cannae wait for the vat grown stuff and then I'll be gorging myself with a clear conscience.

Lol.. what next? Please refrain from eating cereals, as you are also killing the plants and using the body parts (i.e plant corpse). Same with fruits and vegetables as well. The world needs guys with "clear conscience", such as yourself. Please self-exterminate yourself from the face of the earth, by eating only air and water.

I am ready to join the petition, I dont care if that is tradition or festival but its just cruelty to me, I watched the video that my friend gave to me, its horrible I dont see any humanity in slaughtering the animal, I think the world need to stop this event

In a few years we'll have all the meat we could ever want without the need to produce armies of animals farting the Earth to pieces. I'd call that progress. The concept of raising an animal for years on end so it fills a few bellies with a five minute meal is quite stunningly profligate.

The meaning of the term "progress" vary from place to place. For example, in Saudi Arabia, progress was achieved when driving licenses were handed out to the women, for the first time ever (still they need to be accompanied by a male companion). In the Netherlands, one politician has called for legalizing beastiality and pedophilia, saying that it will be a sign of progress. I don't want any of this. I am pretty comfortable with the situation right now. I don't need anyone shoving progress down my throat.

I have no against on people eating dogs as long as they organized killing it and make the killing fast so the dog won't suffer that long but if the killing is made of horrible act. Then that's so sick.

My point of the OP was not the fact that they eat dog but in the manner they kill them. They are basically tortured by various means such as boiling them alive etc.

IMO even if you sign the petition you can't change it. You can only change it if you have some kind of high position in government. Well thats how it is a petition sometimes doesn't work.

If enough people were to sign it the Chinese government might crack down on it due to international pressure. Right now it's illegal to eat dog meat there i believe but they don't really enforce it.

Why shouldn't they? How dogs are different from other animals?

Then what if the president eat dog meat? that's not even the point of OP. I think what the op meant is the act that the slaughterer do when they're killing the dog.

Usually, third world countries don't have advanced abattoirs, where animal carcasses are handled hygienically. They also don't give much thought about the method of killing the animal. The solution to this is not to ban animal slaughtering, but to improve the infrastructure of the abattoirs and to educate the butchers about the need of hygiene and compassion.

A persons choice of eating wont stop based on what they see though like the op is hoping for.. I get it. The dogs sympathy but this stuff is similar to the whole japan situation with dolphins being killed etc.

Cant really ask for eutopia unless you set laws in place in the country itself for these acts - but then it wont stop cause it`ll then become a blackmarket item.
