Privacy is a human right. It makes us what we are. It has been proven many times that when we don't expect privacy, we behave differently. We don't dare to experiment and create. We stop being humans. Some people say that only those with something to hide will worry about privacy, but that is a fallacy. Human rights can't be granted on a case by case basis and according to the granter's criteria. They are universal by definition.
Financial privacy is a key aspect of privacy. In modern societies we leave a trace of payments that say everything about us. We need it to avoid companies analysing our data to know more about ourselves than we do. We need it to defend from governments and criminals, who will use any knowledge they get about our finances, to target us and put us into their lists. We need it because all the previous actors often act together against individuals.

Traditionally cash was the tool to use to keep some financial privacy. However, most countries have declared war on cash. They want full control, but cash escapes their surveillance. They have imposed arbitrary limits to its usage and force people to use banks or electronic money. (switch)

A Masternode can be thought of as a computer that runs a dash wallet. This computer and wallet make decisions, such as locking transactions with InstantX (instant transaction protocol), coordinating mixing of coins (PrivacyProtect protocol), and voting on budget funding. Masternodes are required to have 1000 Dash collateral, a dedicated IP address, and be able to run 24 hours a day without a more than a 1 hr connection loss. Masternodes get paid 45% of the block reward on every block, this is distributed to masternodes one at a time. Typically, around 2 dash is paid to each masternode every 7 days.

Dash Briefly Passes $6 Billion Market Cap, Set to Fund $4 Million in Projects for November

Dash's DAO does not work.  All it does is fund scams and vaporware and stupid shit like Acrobatics Man and rain panchos.

EG, Dash's DAO funded Evolution development years ago, but the "January 2016" demo Evan promised is now two years late, with zero accountability for the poor project management, dearth of meaningful communication, and complete lack of deliverables.

Dash's DAO couldn't even get Dash ATMs working (something Bitcoin had in 2013 with Lamassu), nor could it deliver Dash debit cards (something Bitcoin has thanks to Coinbase SHIFT).

DASH is what an ideal project should be. Everything is good.

yes, good choice! the BTC transactions are ridiculously slow, many transactions are delayed! the ETH has infinite coin supply, the LTC is just a clone of bitcoin with some variables changed. On the other hand, the DASH network is the most efficient; the network of masternodes is the great idea of the cryptocurrency world   ;)

Dash's key feature, the so-called DAO (decentralized governance), is determined by how many masternodes a Dash owner have (1000 Dash for each masternode), 1 masternode = 1 vote.

By insta-mining, it essentially allowed Evan Duffield and his friends to control the vast majority of masternodes and therefore the votes. They can vote for or against whatever proposal they want since they own way more than 50% of the votes. There is no "decentrazlied" governance when it's controlled by just a couple of people in the Dash Core (a company with a CEO lol). It's total bullshit.

What Evan Duffield did was very scummy too. He basically insta-mined Dash for 24 hours at extremely easy difficulty, then suddenly somehow he "discovered" that mining was too easy, and changed the mining algorithm so mining became much harder. But instead of restarting the project, he kept his insta-mined Dash. It was all a scheme to enrich himself.

More than 80% of the circulating supply of Dash was created within 24 hour. It's scary. There is no DAO (decentralized governance). It's fucking bullshit it's worse than Ripple. 1. There was no pre-mine in Dash

Dash Bug Bounty Program Uncovers Critical Bug in the Bitcoin Copay Wallet

“On January 17th the Dash Bug Bounty program received a report of what appeared to be a very serious vulnerability in the Dash Copay wallet. The report came from a security researcher through the Bugcrowd platform and indicated that sensitive data (including private keys) was being leaked into a log file, in plain text.

This report was immediately forwarded to the Dash Core Team for evaluation. On initial review, it was determined that, indeed, privates keys were being written to a log file upon wallet creation. Apparently a function had been inadvertently left in debug mode. The fix was very easy — simply switch the function out of debug mode. For Dash this was a minor issue since the Dash Copay wallet was not in production on mainnet.

Dash DAPI to Revolutionize Cryptocurrency Development Space and Benefit Consumers

Dash is developing a Decentralized Application Programming Interface (API), or also known as DAPI, that aims to make development on the Dash network easier and faster, and thus, make the consumer experience more enjoyable.

Dash Continues to Provide Low Transaction Costs to Enable Everyday Dash Usage

Dash has historically maintained low transaction costs, which has allowed merchants and consumers to use Dash in everyday transactions.

Dash currently boast a median transaction fee around $0.0005 USD and has fluctuated around $0.001 USD for the past few months. The highest the Dash transaction fee ever peaked was $0.10 USD for a short period in 2017, according to bitinfocharts.com. On DashRadar, the transaction fees per byte has steadily been around 1 Duff (1 hundred millionth of a Dash) per byte, which is very low. These stats rank Dash number one among its top competitors when it comes to affordable transaction fees; Bitcoin and Ethereum currently have median transaction fees around $0.14 USD and Bitcoin Cash around $0.002 USD.

Dash does network stress test. Almost 3 times as many transactions as Bitcoin. Users don't even notice it and fees remain as low as always. All during a network upgrade.

Masternodes as an Alternative Cryptocurrency Protocol

Over 400 cryptocurrencies use the Masternode protocol, the most famous of which perhaps is Dash. Masternodes are a variation on Proof-of-Stake (PoS) mining. PoS is when a user keeps coins in their wallet, staking them to help secure the network and generate new coins, accruing long-term interest. With Masternodes, a user must stake a large amount of coins and they receive significant profits long term, in exchange for their Masternode helping to run the network.

Max Keiser said Dash “isn’t getting enough attention and should be getting more attention”. He explained his reasoning because “Dash is in Venezuela and they are helping the locals get through this currency crisis” and “the masternode system they invented is a great governance system; it’s a great way to split the mining output to create funds to do projects that the masternodes vote on”.

As Max Keiser pointed out, Dash is actually being used in Venezuela, and significantly for that matter, with over 2,000 merchants now directly accepting Dash. This is providing a real solution to the real problem of hyperinflation that the Venezuelan government caused with poor economic policies. Dash is able to accomplish this real adoption because of its unique DAO structure that not only enables funding of Dash development to maintain super low transaction costs, but also able to pay for professional community outreach to educate consumers that might not otherwise know much about cryptocurrency. Dash is already accepted at over 3,600 merchants, globally, and is constantly expanding adoption by users and merchant. This all furthers Dash along its goal to become a digital, decentralized, peer-to-peer currency used in everyday transactions, which is much different than the picture that Nouriel Roubini paints.

SWIFT Causes Headaches for Remitters, Cryptocurrency Offers Reprieve

SWIFT transfers are notorious for taking long and costing a lot, but this was highlighted when it was recently revealed that a UK charity could not get £11,000 to 36 orphans in Zambia after weeks of waiting.

The sending bank, Barclays, blames a lack of communication from the receiving bank in Zambia, but the charity organizers were just happy to get their money back after being in limbo. The issue was exposed during an investigation by the Observer, whom also discovered many similar experiences by other bank users. Typically, users can expect SWIFT to make transfers in a few days, but it can take as long as a few weeks depending on the country, which is not to even mention the extraordinary fees. At this rate it becomes faster to put the cash in a briefcase and hand deliver the amount.

However, this then highlights another problem of the current financial system around the world – withdrawing your own money. Due to current anti-money laundering laws, it can often become a hassle to withdraw your own money, depending on the amount. Within the US, between $2,000-$10,000 USD it is at the bank’s discretion to file regulatory forms, but after $10,000 USD it becomes mandatory. To bring into perspective, $10,000 USD is often not even enough to buy a moderately well-maintained used car. Many banks around the world also self-impose ATM withdraw limits, which highlights fractional reserve banking and the fact that banks do not have enough cash on hand to fulfill all their liabilities.

Cryptocurrencies provide faster, cheaper, and better solutions

Cryptocurrencies eliminate these hassles since transfers can be made in minutes for a few dollars on the slowest networks. On faster networks, such as Dash, an InstantSend transaction can be made, right now, in 1-2 seconds for $0.01-$0.02 USD, which is about to become the norm with Automatic InstantSend. Additionally, transactions can be followed since blockchains are public, so if a receiver claims to have never gotten the money, like the instance above, consumers can track their money rather than relying on the word of third parties. Cryptocurrencies also empower consumers the full right to own and use their money, since as eluded to above, significant amounts of money stored in banks cannot be withdrawn, in whole, without significant delays and/or forms to complete.

Please remember when Tone Vays said, "Segwit will solve Bitcoin's scaling problems". Well it has been nearly 2 years & Segwit adoption has completely stalled. Blocks didn't increase to 4MB like they said. Not even a 20% gain. At what point does the gullible money write Bitcoin Core off?

Bitcoin's lightning torch died off back in March but Crypto media didn't report it. "The problem is that when some users try to retrieve the torch, they find out they can’t." - Liquidity problems. The LN is not a scaling solution like I said many times.

i don't think people realize the disruptive features that Dash Evolution will soon bring to the crypto world; smartcontracts in Javascript w/client based computation, D-APIs, low fees, instant txs, user names, friend lists, 51% attack proof & much more! Which crypto currency becomes the future payment system

A considerable number of crypto coins would like to become a generally usable means of payment. Some want to exist next to the Euro and some want to exist instead of the Euro. Which cryptographic coin has the best papers and has made the right design choices?

Conclusion:
We see that DASH scores the most points and that a small coin like Gulden is second. Bitcoin comes in third place and has that third place due to the worse scores on transaction fee and confirmation speed. All forks of Bitcoin, such as Bitcoincash, Bitcoingold and Bitcoindiamond score mediocre to bad. Apparently these are crypto’s that are only designed to give you a profit during the fork.
