Well the Rocket might be ready and full of fuel but man  no one will know for sure how far it will go. Stating that people should buy at any price is just  naive. The price will go up but not as much as many are hoping.

this the the time for accumulation not messing around and waiting for a miracle so price falls and then buy. just like $550 was a short opportunity after the last rise this price is also a short opportunity to buy before the next rise.

oh well, btc price down from $660 to $622 today, so yea, i think this is the right time for buying more btc, just around 2 weeks again until halving happens, hope btc price will going higher, higher and higher from today.

Buy when the price is going down, that's always a good thing to do. Especially if you buy all the way down. It allows you to benefit from the price going down and you'll eventually get to buy at the bottom as well.

There is no doom scenario upcoming where this will happen. So far the price has gone up every time which made me a good amount of profit time on time again. :)

I'm sure a few days ahead of halving bitcoin prices could rise higher. bitcoin now tend to decrease. but it is fair, because the market is still not too believe in the power of bitcoin. there will be a time bitcoin will be higher.

Good point, but people buying at such prices are lacking common sense. A normal thinking person would avoid buying there after the price went up from $200 to $1200 within a month.

If we are not rallying into the halving - then those who hold because of halving will start selling a few days after it and we'll have a bigger correction.

Doesn't matter. If those guys that bought at 1,200 dollars wait for 10 years, they will have 10k a coin and they will be back on the green, but people are too short sighted to take long term decisions, so their loss.

The halving is already well calculated into the current price. It's actually quite overhyped because of it.

The more I read posts like this the more convinced I am that there will be a correction after halving.  The supply reduction will not play out immediately and when everyone is loaded to the max and the price starts to slowly slide down the result is a crash.

This is looking like the period prior to the Litecoin halvening - a massive pump, and some people took profits, halting the pump. Once the momentum was gone, literally nothing happened when the halvening took place.

It doesn't matter. There is a huge hype around the actual date, and also we will have segwit soon and more new stuff. We are only going up.

You are right, sir.  Anytime anyone says buy something at any price, you ought to run for the bunker.  But I happen to like bitcoin and am not selling any.  This is all reminiscent of 2011 in the precious metal bull market. 

Possible pump will take place, whether the price goes too much higher or not, but people who bought in at $1200 will surely get a chance to get out with nice profits if they watch the markets closely.

You seriously believe that segwit crap? We've been promised a solution for years, it never happened and development has never been as dead as it is now.

after doing a quick Google search, I got a website explaining segwit. I think it's a good idea, and it's implementation I think will definitely improve bitcoin's price. Now is the time to buy Bitcoin. I have a good feeling about Bitcoin going to the moon.

Segwit or segregated witness is a restructuring of bitcoin transactions.  Transactions consist of two parts: the actual transaction (inputs and outputs) and the witness (signatures for each input).  Segregated witness separates out the signature portion to make that part easier to discard after it is verified.

It will  able the system to handle more transactions.

In the long run, yes.  It does decrease long term storage costs.  It does nothing to increase transaction throughput and has been a giant distraction from real scaling efforts in that area.

Segregated witness and all the other nice implementations are a reality and are comming, this scares haters and FUDsters. The halvening is happening soon too, proving how the price refuses to go below 600 even if they are trying hard to buy back cheaper.

The halving will not raise the price any more. It is already priced in. But the SegWit could double the price.

One more week to go. The markets still seem to be very quiet. Or probably we won't see any more big changes on the price...

More days to go that halving will be happen and i think the price is now slowly increase and more price increase sooner after block halving its so exciting but its risky we dont know if the price of bitcoin will be continues increase..

The halving price seems to be set in, in the current price. We may see it go up to 700 but not much more.
It's been a great year, looking at the current price makes me happy to say the least.

Halving can't be priced in yet.  Supply issuance is still the same amount lol.  That's like saying that the 4+ Million coins that have yet to be mined have already been priced in simply because the market already has foreknowledge about it. No, this kind of thing doesn't get priced in like that. It gets priced as these new Bitcoins actually start geting issued into the market. It might not explode right away or anything.  It could take several months for the market to really start to realize that there's that much less to go around.  But the price action we have seen thus far is nothing yet.  Not even close

so far bitcoin has been on a very good track and all the phases are somewhat clear, the accumulation was done for another round at above 600 and not everything is getting ready for another rise soon.

Many whales have accumulated at 400$ range, 500$ range (for short period) and recently 600$ range so now its time for pump to well above 800$ before halving.  ;D

They are pushing price down to make the weak hands shake once again before going for the 700+ territory and it seems a lot of people are falling for it.

I think final price (pre and post halvening) will be 600€ / 670$.

Segwit along with the halving can really boost the price of bitcoin and we can see the all time high price of bitcoin this year. I wish it crosses $1000 and always remain above 1000$.

we have some exciting months ahead of us for sure. but the thing is that people tend to get over excited very easily. they lose the reality out of sight and come up with predictions of $2000-$3000 and so on. $1000 on the other hand is quite a possible target for this year. but then again, reaching the $1000 price level is one thing, keeping the price there is a completely other level of difficulty.

thats nonsense in my opinion, i think the price should surely grow even more as more people will start buying their bitcoins in order to make profit out of the halving event

thats a really long waited event for me, i have never seen a bitcoin block reward halving, to be honest in my opinion i should make some profit out of that and it should be really great

If you look at chart after every bull & bear trap, price stopped at around 610€. Also price already got adjusted for halvening, if you look back it was always 300€-ish. Halvening - half, which means each coin is worth twice.. do the simple math = 300*2 = 600.

But as for halvening, it might rise quite high - but don't be greedy too much, someone will sell it all and trigger panic selling - set your prices in right now, if you want to make 'some' profit. Better than none.

I can see you're new here so I'll give you a tip: you do not know Bitcoin history and you are not thinking realistically. Go look at a 4 year log-chart before you start pretending that you are thinking realistically. The first Bitcoin halving brought 5,000% gains in 12 months. The halving is not priced in. Supply has not been cut yet. Pretending like it is already priced in is like saying the 4 million+ bitcoins that haven't been mined yet are already priced in  :o

yeah the last time it took a long time after halving to see a big price increase to be honest, because in my opinion then after some time only people start buying their bitcoins

i think there will be less time needed to wait until the moon launch hopefully but nearly everything might happen to be honest, though i hope that the price will go to negative side

My bad. To summarize the 2 years after, a couple dips followed by rebounds, sideways for a while, and then curving upwards as it bounced off the supporting exponential growth trend line.

When near the halving day we are going to see a dump. It is as obvious as the pump before the halving. Long term price probably will increase, but not short term.

As long as the price does not rise above $800, there will not be a dump as the $800 price is very reasonable.

If it stays at 800$, dump will happen and then it will rise back to same or higher price  :P

Well, halving is definitely going to be an interesting time for bitcoin. The price is currently stable around the high $600 region but who knows where it can go to once it really gets started.

I'd say that $700 is a realistic estimate. Who knows.

I think the halving is not new news. We knew this several months ago. So the price is already reflecting that.

No, we knew this when Bitcoin was created, that's what gives Bitcoin value. If not for the halvings, the number of bitcoin would keep growing forever.
What happens after the event is anyone's guess, because it's a non-event. I lean towards "dump," but only because of the recent pumps.

knowing or not knowing about halving doesn't make any change. there may be some hype because of knowing it is going to happen and increase the price because of it but also it is all about the supply and demand and when halving happens this supply will be even less.

The supply is constantly growing. It is increasing roughly every ten minutes by 25BTC, by 3,600 BTC per day.
Let's keep our facts straight.

I agree with this.  There is definitely speculation going on surrounding the halving.  However, pre-established price due to the market knowledge of this event would be like claiming the 4 Million+ bitcoins that haven't been mined yet are already priced in.  Or pick a number.  You can't price these kinds of things in.  It needs to play out in the market

The halving is just 4 hours away. The price did not move at all. It is quite stable now. But it might rise after.

We are still one hour before the halving, guys! Price won't be higher now or, as I am assuming, in short time after the halving.
It actually might drop a little - or even dramatically - all depends on how big the dump will be.
Market will correct itself and react to new halved block reward probably in 2nd half of 2016.

Well it seems that everything goes well and calm,too calm would I say,the price reflects nothing,perhaps it was not expected.

I like the current situation. there is no big pump and dump of the bitcoin price. It is very stable at the moment.

the halving happened and i dont think that the price moved, though that wasnt really bad because in my opinion it is much better than the price falling and people losing money

may be because too many high expectations for these halving that's why the prices movement looks calm down but doesn't mean the prices will not increase again and i think we must wait until next 1 or 2 weeks later to see the situations because i'm pretty sure there is a chance for the prices to increase

That is right. So far this year, the bitcoin rose 50% within 30 day period. That is not a bubble and it has some corrections now.

It is just what we are expecting is not happening yet, and actually the price is getting worst with the current price fall back. I hope you guys will not be tempted to do panic selling and you shall still stick with your goal to wait for the price increase before we dump our bitcoins.

we are expecting for a big growth but we shouldnt forget that the big dump is also really possible, i hope that the price is only going to go up and make me big money

I think this is time for us to diversify our holding from bitcoin. Actually holding other high daily volume alts may come as good decision if bitcoin price go more down than other alts will go green so we can atleast have our total assets value same even after dump.

It will take longer than expected for the bitcoin price to go to the moon. I think the Bitfinex can cause some concerns.
