It's not the first time that we get the error page of 502 bad gateway, try maybe clearing your browser cache but I think that people are DDOSing the forum, maybe hashocean :P?

...it's completely normal. go to search and enter "502 error" and you'll see around 20 threads about it going way back to 2013. it should go away after some hours (or not).

edit:
by normal I mean it happens so frequently that it's considered as normal occurrence by some.

Yea i guess people are trying DDos here , I don't know why they hate the forum so much ? this forum gives you all information and questions to your answers .
I have cleared my cache but still getting the error .

As --Encrypted-- said its normal no need to panic right .

Getting the same problem again today, seems a bit worse than normal. I suspect another DDoS attack, as I tried to connect from two separate locations and am intermittently getting the same message.

Is anybody else getting lots of 502 messages today?

I'm more concerned about the 5-10 minutes it takes for me to check my PMs...  This is getting costly with my time.

Still waiting for PMs to load...  Hair turning grey...

I dont think it is DDoS attack.
It feels more like  rush-hours to me. Happens only specific hours during the day.
Check how many new account where created from the beginning of this year alone.
Crazy quantity if you ask me. That has to have some impact on forum's fluidity.
17-20 GMT is a break from bitcointalk to me :)

5-6 times or more that has happened with me but after 2-3 minutes refresh the page and always worked for me only once it take longer then i cleared my cookies and clear cache and then all started working again...

I think you should make a thread for it. Never got that problem here, doesn't look like it's tied with the 502 error (too many PMs maybe?). 5-10 minutes are pretty long.

My PM's are displayed instantly when checking, but I hardly have any in my inbox. And, OgNasty, be glad that you have hair LOL

I also see this error but not that frequently.

"Cause of 502 Bad Gateway Errors

Often, Bad Gateway errors are caused by issues between servers online that you have no control over.

However, sometimes there is no real issue but your browser thinks there is one thanks to an issue with your browser, a problem with your home networking equipment, or some other in-your-control reason."

same it isn't that frequent, once-twice in the same day per week or 2 but generally it is solved immediately after 1-2 refresh
i remember this issue was raised few months ago and theymos commented it

edit: didn't find it just found this to theymos https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1070000.msg11451576#msg11451576

That is because you have too many PM's in your inbox/outbox. I don't think it is related to the 502 error.

That or you can just hit preview and it's saved in 'draft' for 7 days (draft is right under preview. Go ahead, give it a try!) if you're writing up a good in-depth post just make sure you hit preview and you're good to go.

I get these 502 errors at least once a week and I find that after a few refreshes it's usually resolved. Once in a blue moon it really affects me and I can't do anything at all on bitcointalk for a few hours. That hasn't happened in months and months though.
