So you will still get payments for the next 5 blocks even after you quit mining. Definitely a good pool. The main point of the '5Nd' is to reduce variance, since your work is rewarded over 5 times as long as expected. i.e. the payout for each share currently takes about 1 to 1.5 days, so the pool average over that 1 to 1.5 days determines it's reward, thus lower variance.
