Will we see massive innovation in the field of Bitcoin and Blockchain Technology till the year 2026?

Try to predict what the Bitcoin in particular and the Blockchain Technology at large WILL be used for within the next 10 years

There can be:

• Bitcoin ATMs and credit/debit cards
• Bitcoin is accepted in restaurants
• Solar power and other natural sources of electricity are widely used for bitcoin mining
• Charities accept bitcoin as donation

The most important fact is that by 2026 New Bitcointalk forum v2.0 will be officially released and out of beta (finally!).

-10 years quite some time, especially considering speed our technological progress. It is hard to predict how bitcoin will change during that time.

I imagine it will be exactly like Satoshi predicted - it will be either very large number of transaction in the future (meaning bitcoin will succeed), or none at all (BTC will fail).

im pretty sure that bitcoin will be used way more than it is used at the moment as people will be more and more interested in this cryptocurrency i think  though thats just my predicion

i think that bitcoins will be used in all the shops so people will be able to buy nearly anything with bitcoins what will be really great thing as bitcoin would replace money then

the predictions are pretty good dude, I also agree if this prediction could come true. Because every need will be much easier to do with bitcoin and everyone can have a very good advantage when using bitcoin. So I wanted to see and feel yourself this happens

the area no one seems to talk about much is a machine to machine economy. if something like that takes off then bitcoin might be all around everyone and they won't even know it.

I see on some bitcoin news site, the blockchain system is so popular and many legal institutions want to adopt this system.
maybe in 2026 all of the instituion will use an this system and all the payment system is changing to be more comfortable and Essien.

Most of the online stores accept bitcoin directly if the price becomes stable within certain limits. Also banks would start adopting the Blockchain technology as the digital currencies will be competing hardly with the banking system.

Well, in 2026 I think bitcoin has been highly developed, even bitcoin might be considered very expensive. moreover, perhaps at that moment all the stores already accept bitcoin as legal tender, even countries. perhaps in the year, you can already use bitcoin on android that you use very easily

I can only primarily see that bitcoin will be accepted as a store of value and as a safe haven commodity like gold. While this is limiting, it's the other platforms, like Ethereum or Factom, that will be the ones pushing blockchain technology to a myriad of real world uses. We are already seeing that trend happening right now.

It will be worth millions of dollars due a lot of capital in offshore accounts, derivatives, socks and gold moving into the blockchain.

Each coin will be worth a fortune. That's why all those people trying to wait for corrections to get in are idiots that don't understand it doesn't even matter in the long term.

2026, multiple halving will have occurred, the value will be relatively high, assuming the value doubles every halving and assuming we start from $630, Bitcoin will be valued at $2,520/Bitcoin, and more than likely the market and governments will be taking more interest in something with a roughly $30 billion market cap.

Bitcoin will still be used for what it is now, maybe smart contracts will be seen or confirmed through the blockchain, and maybe there will be more adoption or people getting involved, or maybe Bitcoin will be dead by then. I have no idea.

2,520 dollars per Bitcoin is shit nothing for a 10 year prediction. You are being victim of the so called "normalcy bias" where you cannot fathom increments in price that may be unrealistic for the people that can't really put things into perspective.

In 10 years block reward will be about 2.25 BTC

So the only outcome is: By 2027 Bitcoin will be worth a lot more than 4 figures per coin.

I see a Bitcoin much different to the one we seeing now... It will have different technologies built on top of it, like we see with the Lightning network and SegWit etc.. and all of this will not be noticeable

by the general public. They will be using the technology without even knowing it.. like we see with TCP/IP and all the other protocols on the internet. All this negative stigma will be a thing of the past,

and people will realize that there are much more to Bitcoin than it seems.  ::)

I think in 2026 Bitcoin will be used as main payment processor in the most famous marketplaces online like ebay, amazon and so on.

We can't be sure what will happen in ten years for now but i believe that besides the price increase bitcoin will be much more popular than it is atm and we will be able to find more stores/sellers that accept it for their payments.

In that age I hope that a number of governments will have accepted bitcoin as a legal currency in their countries and their banks will work with bitcoin, and banks will also have their wallets for their members.

Well i think more stores are accepting bitcoin that anything you can buy online with bitcoin in the future. also if they added also the escrowed international that can trade whole over the world without worry.. also adding reverse payment in bitcoin is the best for the future..

Thinking 10 years ahead is quite a large gap and there are many things that can happen at that time.
Thinking positively, I can see that all countries have adopted bitcoin as one of the official currencies of the world.

At worst case, an unfortunate event will happen and will cause a panic drop of support and bitcoin come crashing down to a point where no one would be using it anymore.

My predictions were actually 50% prediction and 50% dreaming  ;D
I couldn't give any negative predictions.

I believe bitcoin will be used by most of the people in 2026, similar to today's world most of people uses ATM cards.

Shopping, paying bills and international fund transfer kind of all stuff can be made through bitcoin easily in upcoming years as all the people around the globe soon will realize the real advantages of adopting bitcoin ecosystem.

I am not sure what the Bitcoin is going to be used for in 2026 because it is impossible to know that,  we cannot look in to the future the only way we can find the answer behind this is to wait until  we are finally there to see it for our selves.

In the future the bitcoin will not used for paying methods like they are introducing right now by allot of companys the bitcoin will only
be popular in investments because the value of the bitcoin is to high to make it a paying method.

i can see bitcoin technology adopting and implementing some of the major altcoin unique  features.  I think they have adopted one of the feature of an altcoin now, without giving credits to the developer of that coin. ( the community of that coin shouts foul though).  Access of the general public will be much easier.  Lots of Bitcoin atm scatters around local places.  Merchants proudly adopting bitcoin.

It's a little bit annoying that another one of these threads are created like "What will happen to bitcoin in year xxxx"

By 2026, I think there will be more than 10,000 threads similar to this are created.
As for what will happen to bitcoins, I have completely no idea since looking at the timeline of what happened to bitcoins from the very beginning, it's only been more than 6 years and bitcoin has reached this much. Imagine what more in those 10 years.

No chance... Why would a government use bitcoin as a legal currency ? It's easier to fraud, they cannot control it (interest rates and inflation) they cannot take it by force. Bitcoin is a government currency worst nightmare. (Maybe in one of those libertarian states  ;D )

2016 is too far about 10 years to go. but i can tell you and i am hopeful that in 2026 the bitcoin will be a legal currency of the world and there will be no concept of local currency. every one will use bitcoin as their first priority.

It will continue absorbing money from the fiat world like a black hole, and I would expect that by then the Lightning Netwokr is fully operative and we have surpassed all other payment systems in the planet combined, so we are doing trillions of transactions per second. Price should be anywhere from 100k to 1 million dollars a pop.

Shopping and paying bills using bitcoin is happening right now in our country already.
Transferring bitcoins from one wallet to another is an example of fund transfer, right?
Well, I'm just pertaining that it will likely be more than that in the near future.

at 2026 is bitcoin become a legal currency in a lot of countries is became a good news for bitcoin future. I really appreciate with this because from legalization of bitcoin can pull the popularity of bitcoin. I not sure if everyone using bitcoin as their first priority but all of this

If bitcoin don't die till 2026 comes, at my opinion it will be used like common currency, maybe even in physical shops and in every online shops for sure.

If wide scale adoption does take place I can see all of this happening.

of course it will be used by most of the people, in my opinion people will use it because it is decentralized and with bitcoin you will be able to buy literally everything you want

I believe that almost of the people around the world will start getting interested on bitcoin in the year of 2026 and majority of them will start implementing bitcoin to their life because we can see now that the bitcoin is starting to be notice by many people on the whether it's on the internet or not because of its high price increase.

The authorities realize that it is impossible to deal with Bitcoin, and will mimic and adapt, to make the exchange Bitcoins for their money hastily creating certain "semi-anonymous" or even not at all anonymous services to people. It is possible that such services are gaining popularity among the part of the population that is interested in online shopping or hiking in the public recreation space, without worrying about the surveillance and tax agents that Bitcoin may even leave without pay

We already saw Steam approving of Transactions with Btc. i think its only a matter of some years until Big companies start to accept btc as a transaction option. So i believe most of the companies will allow those kind of transactions and it will be more commonly used in the future. and of course it will be legal again in some countries..

Bitcoin will be used for everything including paying wages and salaries.But mostly for online jobs

I think bitcoin will be more of a mainstream method of payment online than it is now. I think we will also see more people investing and storing money as bitcoins.
