Title: PayPal receiving Bitcoin?!
Post by: erickkyut on July 04, 2016, 06:46:57 AM
May I know the reason why does Paypal do not accept bitcoin as payment and/or deposit?! I know that Bitcoin is known widely on the internet so Paypal should accept it as a mode of payment since their forte is through the internet. I hope that someday, PayPal will acknowledge Bitcoin and put it as one of the mode of payment in their site. It will be very convenient for us.

That might be the case of fiat. Maybe everything will be different with bitcoin.

that is a good new bro :D I'm hoping that PayPal will made Bitcoin as an official mode of payment. It will be very convenient for us. I wish not only PayPal but also the other site that has to do with receiving money.

whether it is trustworthy or not, you have to agree that PayPal is being used a lot more than bitcoin. although the reason for that is the fact that paypal is working with fiat and have been around much longer time but this will change in the future when bitcoin got some solid footsteps in the world or at least online and bitcoin will soon replace paypal in a couple of years.

Here:https://www.cryptocoinsnews.com/breaking-paypal-merchants-can-now-accept-bitcoin/
"In September 2014, PayPal announced it would accept Bitcoin via integration with Braintree... Via the PayPal Payment’s Hub merchants could use customizable APIs to integrate Bitcoin into their shops for digital goods. At the time, it released a video hinting at Bitcoin integration."
I didn't really use PayPal much in my life, so I can't really tell, but are you saying they didn't do this thing?

As far as O know youq can register your Visa or Master Bitcoin debit card with PayPal and thus you can use your coins with PayPal. Direct deposits or payments at the moment are not possible.

Remember as well that the only reason that PayPal is where its at today is because of eBay.  Had eBay not existed then PayPal would never have become the Internets main way to pay.  Hopefully open bazaar can do the same for bitcoin.

I`m waiting for this too. This will remove a lot of problems and risks.

But why only Paypal? Some pp competitors like Skrill should also adopt bitcoin.

When the competition adopts btc, paypal will be forced to accept btc as well.

PayPal isn't accepting bitcoin because average people would figure out PayPal fees are ridiculous in comparison to bitcoin. People would dump PayPal & use bitcoin exclusively.

Bitcoin is a major threat to PayPal in the long run.

Even that users can't directly use Bitcoin to PayPal trading and exchange BTC to USD or their local currency on the fly. There is still hope for this feature to be presented in the future.
Rcently PayPal and Coinbase joined forces. Coinbase added direct support for PayPal bitcoin purchases. It is the first official exchange to utilize this feature.

Maybe because it would not merge with their current system? For example, bitcoin is not reversible, its a huge change in their service thats why it would not fit.

Title: Re: PayPal receiving Bitcoin?!
Post by: gentlemand on July 04, 2016, 02:06:07 PM
I can't see Paypal ever taking it on officially. Bitcoin's too anonymous and not reversible so there's no way they can offer their users protection (rape). They'd have to become a full on escrow service and that's a lot of work for anyone.

The Coinbase arrangement is about as good as it'll get but I'm willing to be surprised.

its because of the volatility of bitcoin, if paypal started converting bitcoins to paypal balance and vice versa, people would start using paypal as a bitcoin exchange which they probably dont like.

Title: Re: PayPal receiving Bitcoin?!

I think that Bitcoin have several very good reasons for it.
First is volatility of bitcoin, so they have to be careful not to have financial lost because of Bitcoin.
Second is anonymity of Bitcoin. Paypal have very strict TOS and refund policy but with Bitcoin  they can't know identity of scammer and block his access to Paypal.
Third is that Bitcoin is not yet mainstream and no so many Paypal users also use Bitcoin as payment option.

Besides recent Coinbase-PayPal partnership (and it is not the only exchange partnered with PP - we have BitPay and GoCoin too) we had news about new bitcoin related patents which PayPal owns.
Albeit it is not fully clear yet but we might see PayPal integration with bitcoin in the near future. It will be most likely in the form of multiple currency hardware wallet patented by PayPal and being developed.

This device will be answer for increased demand of universal tool for customers as PayPal noticed that people are purchasing items and services over the the Internet more and more.
And this device will be a killer gadget for mobile payment service providers such as PayPal and bitcoin integration should make it even more universal. We need to wait.

I think this news was about a month ago or a few weeks back, not too sure.
Paypal has only announced its interest in adopting bitcoin to its payment service, but there's no concrete plan yet.

One probably reason why paypal has done this is to be one of the early adopters of bitcoin and be able to set the standards for fees, which they kind of had done with cash. I'm just afraid that their fees would go too much.

News were about the availability of cashout to Paypal account, if you sell BTC, only for US people, so it's only a little step.
The main goal would be the acceptance of Paypal when you buy BTC, but the interest of Bitcoin and Paypal is not the same in these kind of transactions, so we'll see it if it will be worked out or not at all...

When you link a card to paypal it asks you to put a code that they sent to your bank or you receive on your e-banking account so it verifies that you own that card but how will they act when you want to link or to send money from your bitcoin wallet to paypal, I think they don't want to support money laundry or hackers because they don't know if your coins are legal or not.

Now is the time of bitcoinand any payment processor which will not accept bitcoin will die, so paypal is a little clever and for their survival they adopted bitcoin and will continue with that, but i wish they do not bother their users.

i'm sure paypal still don't accept bitcoin because it's not regulated yet on their country (America) if it's already officially regulated then they'll sure accept it,they won't risking their company for only 1 currency which could potentially drive them to abuse the current rules

I have no doubt that PayPal owners are intelligent people, so I think it is just a matter of time to see bitcoin as an additional currency to carry out transactions through Paypal, and this action will be widely  beneficial for both and it will boost a greater acceptation of the BTC as a payment method or exchange medium.

Paypal just receiving bitcoin become their partnerships and no more, within bitcoin having some advantages and PayPal can taking from them. like coinbase with PayPal, it's showed the PayPal is want to receive bitcoin but not in the currency form or amount and etc. just a partnerships.

PayPal won't accept bitcoin, because most of them consider both as different payment gateway. Possibly both will compete with each other, further soon scenario might change if more start using bitcoin as a currency.

well I think that if paypal starts taking bitcoin it would definitely
be a pump in price. But I will believe it when I see it. Paypal would
be foolish to support bitcoin as it goes against everything they do like
charge crazy fees and control everyone's money.

I hope they do as it would probably make paying for items on ebay through
paypal possible also but I would be shocked if it happened.

because technically when you use bitcoin you should never have any need for horrible services like PayPal. in other words bitcoin will remove PayPal and any similar service from the internet in the future, so they have no intention to show any support for bitcoin for the time being.

If you have bitcoin debit card you can easily buy stuffs adding that card to your paypal account. I have done several purchases like that and i think recently paypal have enabled bitcoin as deposit method for US citizens (i am not quite clear on this). Sooner or later it is quite sure paypal will be accepting bitcoin worldwide.

Since paypal is used longer than bitcoin and when the time comes when btc is introduced maybe it would be a good advertisement to btc to became more popular.

They want to make it perfect, remove bugs and also to stop the hackers from bridging to the accounts. Maybe in the near future, they will add it and also other currencies as well. But for now, I think they need to make it perfect to lessen the bugs and glitches.

Paypal is regulated by various laws of many countries. They have different rules for different countries. So it is very difficult for them to accommodate a currency which is not regulated by anyone.

So they can accommodate bitcoin for those countries where bitcoin is legal. There are very very few nations where it is legal so I think that is the main roadblock. However, you can always exchange your bitcoin in to paypal funds using exchanger service.

WHat do you even mean by that? I've never had transaction 'not complete' with Paypal, though this may be different for merchants.
I quite like Paypal, just easy to use and haven't had any issues with it.

But I have heard some horror stories of merchants' funds being locked etc.

Maybe this will make the price of the higher of the bitcoin before, but it's very clear will make the price of the bitcoin become higher than ever whether it's $ 800 or maybe more

maybe Paypal will have interest on putting bitcoin as one of their mode of payment when its value reached $1000 or higher. or when bitcoin has affiliated with the banks. many people are hoping that it can also be affiliated with banks.

i think if paypal integrate with bitcoin, then it will be good news, we can maybe trace the transaction or we can know who is the name which buy our bitcoin or something like that.

I hate doing bitcoins and exchange it to PayPal funds. They are doing it already for a couple of months already but compared to normal wallet the fees converting to PayPal is much higher. So until the fee becomes the standard fee like blockchain does then I will use bitcoins and channel it through PayPal. But there is no need for me to do that anymore since we can convert directly our bitcoins to fiat currency through a third party site in our country.

PayPal isn't accepting bitcoin because average people would figure out PayPal fees are ridiculous in comparison to bitcoin. People would dump PayPal & use bitcoin exclusively.

Bitcoin is a major threat to PayPal in the long run.
but if both can cooperate, it would generate an exceptional service. paypal and bitcoin users will make one new service. This will be a great new media. I believe the use of digital money will be increasingly widespread use in the world.

As what I have heard before, PayPal is considering of using Bitcoin to be one of their payment option but using third party companies. Maybe PayPal is just taking it slow since Bitcoin is not that known, no assurance of its legal status worldwide yet, and of course the price stability (price swings). Well, if it will be implemented by PayPal, I think there's no worries and it's an advantage for those who uses both PayPal and Bitcoin.

I also do not know why they still don't accept it, but I suppose soon they will. Bitcoin is getting more and more popular in the world and on the internet especially. I see many sites began to accept bitcoin as payment, so Paypal will not skip that for sure. Maybe already now they are providing something in their system to start to accept bitcoin as well.

I have read an article or post here that paypal is considering to partner with bitcoin someday.  So someday we really do not know if it is frue or it will ever happen.  But I think the reason is the rules, policy, or agreement encompassing the paypal rules.  Maybe bitcoin is too private and the paypal cannot retrieve the money once sent to the recepient.

PayPal is stil prety conservative money service with rather strict rules. I think that at the moment Bitcoin just don't fit into they system and policy. They are also obliged with different AML policies and Bitcoin isn't that well regulated plus anonimity that Bitcoins gives. But I don't think that PayPal has something against the Bitcoin, it's just not yet the time to embrace it.

Because bitcoin is irrelevant as mean of payment online, it just doesn't make sense for a business like Paypal to allocate resources to integrate such a small payment method.

paypal doesn't accept bitcoin for sure, they have stated this clearly that they will not support bitcoin related transaction. However i have heard recent partnership of paypal with coinbase to provide US citizens to load their paypal account exchanging bitcoin, don't have any oppurtunity to try this.
Paypal is listed as Instant sell method in coinbase webpage here https://www.coinbase.com/places/united-states

In my view, PayPal doesn't receive bitcoin because bitcoin is an anonim currency that's complicated to trace back to a valid person and the transactions are impossible to reverse. You see the many deal disputes on PayPal? Using bitcoin'd make them even more difficult to resolve.

Bitcoin have a lot of restrictions and limits and terms, and having very strict security system, so i think that's why It don't accept Bitcoin as its anonymous and decentralized currency

PayPal probably doesn't accept Bitcoin because Bitcoin is in too much of a legal gray zone right now, and this means that Paypal accepting it could end up with it being implicated with some criminal activity (accidentally, however money laundering would be possible to an extent), and that could be some Paypal just doesn't want to deal with at all.

i think because they are adoption method is different, bitcoin is more focus on decentralized and anonymity, while paypal more focused on transparency and identity, so if anything bad happens like money laundry of user scammed other user, paypal can track and help to solve so paypal reputation wont ruin, so basically paypal more focused on their reputation while bitcoin more focused on freedom

I don't think bitcoins can completely wipe out PayPal because as of now bitcoin market is just less than 10 billion market and also you can't send bitcoins to unknown person to buy anything because they can easily cheat you or you need to go through with escrow. But in case of Paypal, you can buy confidently so both got advantages and disadvantage and we need both of them for different purposes.

Correct, paypal and  bitcoin cant be  compared since bitcoin is a currency and  paypal is  service even though  paypal  would accept bitcoin on their service theres  no problem at all.. the main thing  that  bothers me about  using paypal  is their   high fees on each transaction , so  its  better to  use  pure bitcoin service than on paypal.

Nope, I have not heard anything that paypal is accepting bitcoin, but at the moment dell is accepting it so I think in near future most of the e-commerce giant players will also accept it. In the coming year, Kim dotcom has announced that he is going to bring next version of mega upload with bitcoin support so we can expect a growth in the user base of bitcoin. If paypal starts supporting bitcoin then it will prove game changing.

PayPal doesn't accept direct competitors as payment options IMO, it's the same reason you can load you bank account with another bank account or use Skrill with PayPal, Also there is the tricky part about money regulations with something like BTC etc..

Even if paypal allow direct deposit/withdraw to bitcoin worldwide there may not be much effect on price instantly however it will be really good news for bitcoin users because the shops which only used to accept paypal payment will also add standalone bitcoin payment system for sure. This may increase the use cases of bitcoin in daily life.

Do you remember what happened with Liberty Reserve? Liberty Reserve ( LR ) had to shut down because of the amount of "grey" users and the criminal organizations that abused the payment processor's service. Not only LR's company suffered heavy losses because of that, but many users, too, who used their services for legit purposes.

Its definitely a good sign that more and more companies are accepting Bitcoin,
but I still think that for now, Paypal would rather have a partner accept the coins, and transfer money through paypal to that company.
That way they can do business with people using Bitcoin but not be directly involved.
I actually wouldn't be surprised if Paypal acquired a company that took Bitcoin payments at some point in the future.

It is already happening. PayPal added Bitcoin startup Xapo CEO Wences Casares to board of directors he might be working on some new level of partnership between Xapo and PayPal.
Direct Bitcoin acceptance is doubtful it will be rather done by acquiring bitcoin companies, startups and projects and integration of their services into PayPal portfolio.

PayPal and Bitcoin are starting to become 'friends' since the Xapo CEO has been hired by them. Maybe we'll see some collaboration, but we have to know and pay attention to one thing: as soon as PayPal or any credit card or bank gets in business with Bitcoin, the Bitcoin's privacy will be over for many of us. I prefer sitting in front of my computer and having a totally anonymous wallet instead of the partnership with PayPal, which also is in partnership with MasterCard etc..

I think it's just because bitcoin is more of a competitor, it's true that PayPal accept bank accounts and creditcards as deposit methods but that's just because they have to as well as them being in a different market "more physical", Bitcoin would be competition for PayPal and even if they make a BTC wallet they wouldn't be able to charge high fees like they do now..

well that's actually only for a bitcoin wallet, but not for bitcoin's address, the transaction history can be traced by using blockchain explorer, and once the owner of the address have been known then it'll also reveal the owner's activity,so it's better to make no one know what's your address to be honest

I agree. On the bright side, when PayPal integrates Bitcoin, we will see more places where we can pay with our Bitcoin. On the dark side, when this happens, we can be sure that PayPal has a system to monitor Bitcoin transactions and trace them back to people. This system would take one of Bitcoin's good points, which is privacy. I think if PayPal integrates Bitcoin, that's good for us, but we've to be cautious with this system.

I guess they still see bitcoin as more of a competitor than CreditCards and Bank accounts which are the typical ways to deposit into PayPal, These don't really play in PayPal market and they need them but bitcoin would majorly impact PayPal if it goes mainstream.

I don't see bitcoin as a competitor because bitcoin can't be regulated as a credit card or bank account and doesn't belong to any official organization. It won't replace transactions where official documentation and national legality must be followed like at most bank transactions. But I read that more banks are developing their alternative currencies with cryptocurrency technology. I think, they'll develop centralized altcoins, though.

It will be very convenient for us.
you can convert bitcoin to Paypal

For real?! May I know how would that be possible?! I haven't heard such thing. I know that PayPal is not accepting bitcoin on their site and they are still studying about it if they will accept it in the near future.

I believe that what he was going for was that you can exchange your Bitcoin for PayPal using some other means aside from the Paypal website, and I am in full agreement with you, I haven't seen anything from Paypal saying that they're going to accept Bitcoin for sure yet. And we don't even know if they are still interested in it at all.

Direct Bitcoin acceptance is doubtful it will be rather done by acquiring bitcoin companies, startups and projects and integration of their services into PayPal portfolio.

http://www.coindesk.com/paypal-xapo-wences-board-directors/ (http://www.coindesk.com/paypal-xapo-wences-board-directors/)

Wow! This is a very good news :D
It will be more convenient for us to transfer our bitcoin or do online shopping because not all online shopping sites accept bitcoin. I'm looking forward to it!
you are right, to be honest i like paypal but it would be cool to have bitcoins for paying too in my opinion

That's what a lot PayPal users are struggling with. In most cases it's suspicion alone that makes PayPal lock people's funds for a certain amount of time. This just shows that they are ruling their entire payment platform with iron fist. But don't worry, PayPal will never incorporate something that eventually can make them vanish. Because that's exactly what Bitcoin is capable of.

Paypal will also finally give in and start accepting bitcoin directly themselves, they are not doing it now, and always what you see and hear on the news is the random third party that has implemented the paypal acceptance in their own sites not the other way around.

Well they may see that bitcoin is going to be a threat to their service as many paypal users are already shifting into bitcoins and that is making their revenue lower.

And if they are going to compete against bitcoin for sure they are going to lose as they are just holding conversion of dollars into local currencies.

But if they are going to accept bitcoins and convert it to dollars and any local currencies for sure this is going to help their revenue increase again.

No one really can know the reason why PayPal does not support bitcoin deposits except their developers if they reveal if what can be the reasons, maybe because they don't want to link theirself with something like bitcoin which is totally anonymous and they wont be able to keep tracks of the money or something.

Ahh well thought but just I have said bitcoin is like natural resources. For example like gold you earn gold through mining your land in the real world. So in cyberworld the mining of this currency is like gold you can mine and its value will bigger and bigger in the future as the supply will decrease. Law of demand and supply.

i think it's exactly the opposite. at the time paypal accepts to work with bitcoin, then it will give people less incentive to use paypal as preferred payment option. eventually it will cost them a lot billions in lost revenue. i am quite sure that share holders of ebay will not allow that to happen. they are interested in a growing company, and not a company that gets destroyed from inside. ;)

Bitcoin and Paypal are two different things and they aren't, in any way, depending on each other. Paypal would definitely survive even if they don't use Bitcoin simply because there would always be people avoiding and hating on Bitcoin. On the other hand, those people who knows the advantages that you can get from using Bitcoin will definitely stick to using Bitcoins.

I think they are not accepting bitcoin because of many illegal activity in bitcoin also many people are using paypal for scam people before and they have no reverse payment in bitcoin unlike paypal.
Its beecause paypal are not sure about accepting bitcoin to make an payment option to some online stores maybe there working on it now lets have an patience to wait until the project was done how about those countries that using bitcoin as legal one? paypal should choose some countries that can use bitcoin to paypal.

It won't disappear. Just one miner is enough to exist in order for Bitcoin to keep surviving. Regarding your question, it's really easy to differentiate the two worlds: cyber world is the one we're in when using our phones or any other technology. Real world is the one we have been born in.

I think it's possible that Paypal would start accepting Bitcoins. It's basically just another currency like dollars, euro, that they already have. There are price fluctuations on those currencies too so I think that Paypal receiving Bitcoins wouldn't be that hard to implement. There's a problem, though. Because Bitcoin payments aren't reversible I think there should be some changes.

Nevertheless, Paypal can deal with this small problem by not accepting withdrawals with Bitcoin but only payments and deposits. This way, no Bitcoin money actually goes out of Paypal and Paypal can just regulate whatever Bitcoin they have in their account. That means even if someone scams you using Bitcoin as payment, you can still revert it because it's still on Paypal's primary wallet.

My guess is that they see bitcoin as a threat to their business model, and they don't like the irreversible nature of it.

its because of the volatility of bitcoin, if paypal started converting bitcoins to paypal balance and vice versa, people would start using paypal as a bitcoin exchange which they probably dont like.

Yes, paypal gives too many problems to its users, it is very strict with its policies and many users are not happy about that. The reason why many people will be forced to use paypal is because there is no alternative for it, as we now have bitcoin I think in few years to come bitcoin will completely take the place of paypal in the entire world.

Sites e.g merchants are more likely to convert any income through Bitcoin to PayPal instead of vice versa.

I have to add that the far majority of the merchants use something as BitPay to handle every Bitcoin related transaction from beginning to end. They don't have to do that themselves.

In your case, where are you living? There must be ways to buy yourself into Bitcoin without paying ridiculously high premiums.

If Paypal accepts would be better, because it would be more embrancing, and we don't need to wait the good will of each site we use. Sooner or latar they will have to start accepting it. The future is coming...

paypal just have a cooperation with coinbase which actually not having cooperation with the whole bitcoin itself, bitcoin catching widest area than coinbase as coinbase only a company based on bitcoin,so can't say paypal receiving bitcoin fully
Atleast paypal is being used like a third companie, in the meanwhile bitcoin will get more space and paypal will find some solution to accept and work with bitcoin, its just a question of time.

Well, maybe it is still very difficult to think that way. however, I think the paypal actually reduced because bitcoin, and I felt it was also felt by the paypal. I think that if someday paypal have felt disadvantaged because a lot of people using bitcoin than paypal, I think that PayPal will also receive bitcoin to maintain its popularity

If this is true, then paypal is not treating bitcoin as threat anymore. And I think their management is able to accept the fact that the bitcoins transaction system is going to kill their service in the future once bitcoin has been adopted all over the world. Even though the users are still limited then that might decreased their sales.

They are another type of service, on their site it`s written:
"Make a payment online or with your mobile.
Make a payment in exchange for goods and services without sharing your financial information with the seller."
PayPal is not exchange site, and they are not shop. They are just service for money transferring. If you see what are they doing it`s same as bitcoin, you can make online payments with bitcoin, from mobile also. Why would they ever accept bitcoin? Better question is why bitcoin needs paypal? What can paypal do for bitcoin, when bitcoin already have a network for sending and receiving bitcoins, making payments, wallets..

i have lot of problems while depositing money paypal because they didn't verified my email and pan card so I can't use my bank account for money transfer. But it would be a boon for me if PayPal accept bitcoin as a payment. and also it would be easy to add money to PayPal.

I have used eBay for 11 years. Every time they came up with new idea or policy restriction I was telling myself - time to move out. With shipping, PayPal fees, eBay fees, whatever you resale -> add 20% for them, and there are so many restrictions now, only buyer is protected. So I finally did it. Installed OpenBazaar today, took AWS on amazon for a year free and fallowing manuals (0 to none programming skills) got it working in an hour or so. Planning to gradually filling it up with thousands of items I have laying around. Will anyone buy them? I am pretty sure not too soon. But what do have I to loose? Time? eBay charges me $70 a month for 300 items listed. I would rather invest my Time in the future. #F-KeBay #F-KPayPal.

I guess one of the reasons why Paypal doesn't accept bitcoin as payment because the two of them can never be mixed together. They are two different payment methods that doesn't share the same concept. Paypal has the buyer protection policy where you can easily dispute any payment. Scammers abuse that feature and invent reasons just to make their money go back to them after having a successful deal. You can't do that in bitcoins. You can't revert a payment in bitcoin.

Wow it's a boon for us. Because while doing bank transfer i face many problems and if they really accept bitcoin then my life would become easier because. While i transfer bitcoin from my wallet to bank account i loss many part of it by transaction fees and wine adding money from bank account to PayPal then also they cut service chargebut if I could do that same task by with bitcoin then it would be of double profit for me.

Yeah it is going to be very comfortable for us when PayPal will start finelly accept bitcoins. I am also waiting for that moment cause of I making lot of transactions on that service. Maybe exactly now PayPal's specialists are adopting the service for bitcoins. or maybe thery have their own reasons why they still don't accept bitcoins as payment. As I know you can write to the service manager and to ask them directly about their plans to Bitcoin  :)

Paypal is very sensitive when it comes to information.
You need to be precise and accurate about the information they are asking. In like bitcoin, you can do it anonymously.

Yeah, the thing about Paypal is that in a lot of cases you have to add a cart and verify your account that way and often times this is the only possibility to add money or via your bank account so it would be cool if you could deposit BTC and that way get funds to your paypal account.

But paypal will make profit out of our deposits with bitcoin and they are going to make some conversion rate lower than the usual rates. So it would generate them a lot of profit so if this happens then that is what I am just thinking when paypal is receiving bitcoin. But still this is going to be a good news for all of us.

so true . paypal registration process is more difficult and requires some verification. while bitcoin only require data such as when we make the e-mail. everyone can do it.

PayPal is one different thing in its own genre and it's their decision whether to accept Bitcoins or not, but they are losing on something for which they will regret in the future...
And there is no reason for them not to accept it, it's just that their ego would get hurt if they do so, because there is nothing irreversible in Bitcoins... :P

A +1 for that answer my friend ;)
Paypal is really losing something because they are not accepting bitcoin as a mode of payment. They will soon realize that they have a wrong decision about it but still, if they change their minds, they can still add bitcoin as a mode of payment t.

Bitcoin is a threat to their entire business. Other than that, PayPal has a bank license which in itself will make it nearly impossible for them to incorporate Bitcoin beside all the hassle and legal settlements that they have to go through. Things aren't as easy as some people here like to think.

this is all true but it is only true right now.
in the future i am sure that this will all change and the very existence of processors like paypal would eventually depend on adopting bitcoin and making it as an option inside their systems in order to not be left behind.

let's separate bitcoin and PayPal. Because if PayPal start accepting bitcoin then there might be problem like price fluctuation and its price would not be stable and buyer like me could suffer lot of losses. let both the service do not depend upon each other.

I hardly think so. Most bitcoin users hate Paypal because the payments are reversible. You don't want to lose funds after a couple of months because somebody from the past have disputed his payment and claimed that he was hacked or something. Paypal is a good payment method solely because almost every online store out there accepts Paypal as payment but not bitcoin.

Considering the trust rating of that company, yes many people in bitcoin community might use their service if ever it will be done. But I dont think they know that yet. Maybe someone could do some suggestion or some campaign that will let them know it could be good for their service. But the problem is the old user there. They might think it is a bad decision for paypal and take out their funds.

Yeah. PayPal is becoming less and less popular nowadays.
They have lots of competitors now aside from bitcoin.
There is Payza, Payeer and many others.
I think they can regain their popularity if they will accept bitcoin as mode of payment.

I think it will only create chaos to their company. They have the buyer protection policy which allows you to dispute any payment made within 180 days. You cannot possibly do that in bitcoins. You can't dispute your money once you click "Send." Paypal is still used by almost everyone, though. I don't think their popularity is getting low. The majority of online shops are still accepting Paypal.

Paypal should come with their own coin that will be reversible, and should be stable value if not fixed and only can exchange it at paypal, i dont believe directly they will accept, they can co work with a third company to get the money from bitcoin deposits, more then those i doubt will happen.

One of the main reason bitcoin got famous is the negative points of Paypal.
One thing most people get scammed by Paypal is that it is reversible to some extent.
Scammers prefer Paypal over Bitcoins to much extent.

I don't think Paypal will ever add bitcoins to their system.

I think that we're still a fairly far ways away from anything happening with Bitcoin and PayPal, however with the value moving forwards and Bitcoin expanding to more people, it is not beyond belief that PayPal and other large companies will start looking into Bitcoin as a potential companion soon. I know I would be, but that's inherently biased.
