new thread is here:

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1557126.new#new

Okay first off Generalt  was the winner of last contest 50 usd in btc.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1521664.msg15471593#msg15471593

This will be the ½ ing  Jump  it will come at block 420000

Should be fun.  We have been giving away BTC for more then 18 months at no cost to any player free entry.
With the ½ ing coming in  under 670 blocks  if really weird nutty shit happens I will come up with an adjustment to the game.

So fingers crossed good luck and have some fun.

Picks start at block 1116 and end at block 716 of each adjustment period.

$50 a jump  will Stay in place barring a crash in btc value to under 500 a coin.  If coins drop under 500  I will award .1 btc a jump.
I need to do this do to coin price  volatility.

When game began about 20 months ago coins were about 200 usd  0.10 btc was about 20 usd. we paid  in .10 btc numbers.  Our first donator to the game  spent over 2.8 coins.  I have been the sole payer for the last 4 months and have paid .9 coins  so 3.7 coins have been awarded for free, nada, nothing  no cost.  I am still able to do this due to my signature fee.  Which I put into payments here.

First rule is I decide all rules since it is a free chance to get some coin.
Second rule is you need to be  a forum member since April 1st of 2016
Third rule is you need to have made 30 posts.  I will read them and decide if you appear to be real.
Fourth rule is if I think you are double dipping your picks won't be allowed
Fifth rule is we open picks at 1116 and end picks at 716   just about 2.5 days to pick.
Sixth rule is  this is for fun so I tend to allow off topic and don't delete very much.
Seventh rule is your pick should look like  -1.2 = philipma1957 or   +1.2 = philipma1957
Eight rule is  if you pick a used pick I will assign a pick to you and you are stuck with the one I assign.
Ninth rule no pick changes
Tenth rule no pre picks via pm's
Eleven rule no late picks.

Anything I missed above feel free to mention.

Well here we are one Day into the most interesting / hard to call Difficulty Periods we are going to see for some time. Things seem to be off to a normal start with Yesterday being +0.69% with 145 Blocks. Today we have a slow start, with Period to date Run Rate at -3.7%, but always takes a few day for things to settle, just about in time for the halving.....

Will there be a mass switch off or will things just carry on as if nothing has happened?

Very interesting difficulty period, indeed. We going to see if massive switch off is happening before this contest picking period ends, but it would be much harder to predict the final difficulty change if such massive switch off really happens.

Did you guys know that during the last halving, it was solved by a single GPU rig by an Radeon 5870 GPU. Later that GPU was bought by Chaang Noi who during the Bitcoin bubble of 2013 bought a Lamborghini with his Bitcoins.

Crazy Times.

I think the dramatic BTC price rise over the last 3 months has largely blunted the impact of the halving. We may not see a massive drop-off of of hash-rate that some folks are expecting.

I expect this will be more of a "gradual switch off" over time, unless there is a crash on BTC price.

Can't believe we're here already, the halving.  Seems like we've been talking about it for so long.  Oh, and last round was the closest I'd ever been, I was one guess spot away!

About 350 blocks until halving. While not a crash in BTC price, we have seen a decline to about $635/coin.

That, and the halving, will constrain hash rate growth I expect.

S9 prices seem to be holding as Bitmain introduces Batch6 & Batch7. No immediate relief for S9 purchasers.

August will be mighty interesting, in my opinion. BTC price up, or down? Difficulty up or down?

Most people who I contacted about buying S7 gear from said they are waiting and seeing if the difficulty will drop, if it doesn't they will sell their S7 to me for cheap. If it drops or price goes up another 30%, they will keep mining with it.

Because right now with most hosting datacentres most people will end up breaking even with their power costs and no point in running them.

Not the greatest day to watch from high 670's to low 620's - http://www.coindesk.com/price/ .  So we lost a little more then 50 dollars per BTC value.  I'm wondering with halving so close some are selling hedging bet's.   They might have waited to right before having and sold some.

I personally am more interested in long term holding.  So I really want to see price after halving, I think we will see some sell but hope we go up again overtime.

Too late, going back to the 640s :D expecting quick recovery, possibly going to be overbought as it rises or will just plateau at 650. Everybody saying the halving is going to raise the price SIGNIFICANTLY is wrong. It'll rise over time as demand continues at the pace it's going at, and supply becomes a bit weaker, but I don't really see any signs of BTC reaching 800 any time soon.  With price going this low into the halving, I see a larger difficulty drop than I initially expected. Probably going to be - going into the week or 2 after the halving as people see the negative profit in their faces, and miners shut down.

I only got .3 at 630 or so.  Oh well.

Still sounds like a snagged a good deal at face value, makes me wish I had some funds I would have been buying too.

Yes I think the Halving rise and peak has been and gone. Question now is how low are we going and will we build again? I think we could easily see 550 or even 450 again?

Hash wise we are are a pretty stable Period to date Run Rate of -3% at the moment.

Putting aside the speculative aspects of BTC via buying and selling for a moment, we are just about 1 day until the halving (i.e. 142 blocks).

Bitcoin Difficulty:    213,398,925,331
Estimated Next Difficulty:    216,957,196,592 (+1.67%)
Adjust time:    After 1485 Blocks, About 10.4 days
Hashrate(?):    1,530,803,743 GH/s
Block Generation Time(?):
1 block: 10.0 minutes
3 blocks: 30.1 minutes
6 blocks: 1.0 hours

Updated:    12:10 (45.0 seconds ago)

Still in the range of $640/coin.

Yup for sure, congrats to those who keep it going.  My gear has been shut off for a couple months due to summer heat, hopefully when it cools down later this year it will still be worth my time, effort, and $ to have a miner or two in the mix.  Til then I'll just keep having fun with the R1 and gekko stick german fun runs.

For me summer means a lot more of CFM's from fan's.  During winter I am able to get away with much less, which is nice lower overhead. It has been pretty mild really for the most part where I am in the Midwest.  I do expect having to change what miners are profitable for me, after it I'm guessing all need to be S9 to make sense but will run numbers after.

I also dabble in Ether now for fun.   Not sure if it will pay off as big as I would like but the chance to play with GPU's again was to hard to pass up.  I expect them to be running for quiet a while.

But price is really not doing bad 655 on coinbase.  Will be an interesting week though to watch price.

I just had one hell of a day.. So i bought 1 btc worth of eth back on the presale.  I have been trying passwords since it got on exchanges.  I think someone look out for me on this one cuz i would have lost out on thousands had i been able to sell early.  Then i just let it go for a while ... even considered giving all i know to dave bitcoin to try to hack my password.. today while weeding my garden it dawned on me a variation of the password i hadnt tried.. low and behold that was it ;D ;D ;D.. And it couldnt have come at a better time.. get some shit paid off .. and now may even consider to buy an s9. just to keep a small foot in the game.  I cant ever go as big as i had in past.  turned out to burn me big time.  Ahh what a day.. one hell of a way to spend the halving:).  btw im only going to sell 1/4 now.  but this makes me keep a much closer eye on eth now that i have a larger stake then just 420 mhs mining rig.. anyway sorry for the off topic.   Think i may go have a drink.

Yeah good thoughts :D. i never drink so that would be wise... I always got the hangover effect after a few drinks(headache and sick as hell).. But i also never gave it a real chance to find a good beer i may like.  My dad fancied it enough for him and I both.:)  figured it was best to stay away from it.

Yet a little more off topic. Since I don't know jack about eth:

"So i bought 1 btc worth of eth back on the presale"

Can you explain what this means? What is/was "the presale"? I assume this means that you gave somebody 1 BTC, and they gave you N "Ethers"? You then took those N "Ethers" and got back more than 1 BTC after some period of time?

Thanks for the education (If it's OK with Phil on his thread)!

I sadly did not buy in the pre-sale you can find some about it here - https://blog.ethereum.org/2014/07/22/launching-the-ether-sale/ .  I would guess he's having an amazing day if he got into pre-sale account with 1 BTC.

Price they say on blog "The price of ether is initially set to a discounted price of 2000 ETH per BTC, and will stay this way for 14 days before linearly declining to a final rate of 1337 ETH per BTC. The sale will last 42 days, concluding at 23:59 Zug time September 2."   So he is having a great day to say the least if he invested 1 BTC.   High risk and very very high reward.    Either way big congratz d57heinz.

It is okay.  The coin was launched via a pre-sale a while back more then a year ago.

I am thinking he did very well on his purchase.

2000 x $10.50 = 20K

1337 x 10.50 = 14k

Either number is good.  maybe a 300-700 usd investment.

Phil is exactly right.  Ill have to hit up the irs with this one for sure..   Thats one heck of a gain:)    Ive already got coinbase asking for more documentation then ive already given them.. which is ok.. Just a driver id verification.  on a 3 btc sell i thought was odd.. but ehh thats ok with me. once i supplied the sale went thru as normal back when i mined with 80 ths they didnt ask too many questions when i was pulling out over 5k usd in btc to pay for electricity. but more regulation has come into play.. ahh those were the days.  Honestly cant figure out why i miss it. but it is fun to tinker with all the equipment i ran.  Got one heck of a pile of it in the garage. hell some of it didnt even run a year but illinois still wants that use tax :P

edit i was able to get in on the first days at 1 btc = 2k eth ;D

Thank you.  light shines on me every now and again. I seem to have a huge variance factor in life.. many ups and downs.  such as btc.  heheh  Thanks again

Ain't it grand when you "find" something nice like that?  :D

This parallels my story with LTC. I mined BTC and LTC for a short while back in early 2012. I mined and slurped from faucets about 0.07BTC and some of it helped pay (https://blockchain.info/tx/b23cdadbfe79464c02d23aa768ebb1539d7ceb055b41e0e13eb17b9c9dae9341) for a @sidehack modded S7-LN. The LTC, however totaled a bit over 7k coins. When I remembered that I had some, and then checked the price it was a bit over $4.00/LTC, and so I sold it in chunks all the way up to almost $6.00/LTC. Some of the proceeds paid some bills, some bought ETH, some bought BTC which then paid for the S7LN, and I still have some LTC.

Some days you're the bug, some days you're windshield.

Cheers,

- zed

I expect that most folks on here look at bitcoinwisdom on a regular basis like I do. Just for grins, I would suggest that you click on the "Litecoin Difficulty" link at the top of the page. The resulting graph is just breathtaking (IMHO).

I absolutely don't want hijack this thread, so please don't worry about responding to this comment on my part.

So Today is the Day  :) about 8 Hours to go. Yesterday was pretty standard with 145 Blocks and for the last 24 Hrs Period to Date Run Rate has been in a band -1% to -2%.

Sort of expect something dramatic to happen at block 420000 with a mass throwing of breakers, but it will probably pass quietly?

So the halving has been and gone without any great drama. Except........ that Yesterday was +4.86% with 151 Blocks and the Run Rate Today, could just be variance, is currently at a very frisky +20%. Period to Date Run Rate is now just into positive territory at +0.41%.

So if there was any powering down of old gear it has been more than compensated for by new gear being switched on.

I think it will take weeks for the effects of the halving to actually observed or felt.  I don't have a particular reason to think that folks would just "switch off" hardware when block 420,000 rolled around. Those folks would most likely have been selling their hardware, as I should have done. Anybody that recently bought hardware was planning on running it and is unlikely to change their mind quickly.

As always I think that difficulty changes will follow in the direction of BTC price. For most folks, BTC price is THE key driver in their decisions. Obviously electricity price is important, but that's a pretty stable and predictable value, whereas BTC price is not.

Interesting to follow the next couple of months.

Exactly this.

Here is an example of a s-7 user  that has 10.5 cent power.  He or she has just this machine.  I would be willing to say they will run it for a month or so since it is not losing much money for the month.

@TheYankeesWin

I think the rates may drop  over time but not just yet.
Maybe :
July 18 to Aug    1   will be -5%
Aug 1 to Aug    15   will be -4%
Aug 15 to Aug  29   will be -4%
Aug 29 to Sept 12   will be -4%

Then we will go up in diff rates.

I also think in the fall rate will begin to rise.

Surprisingly no drop in hashrate, the new plugged S9s could exactly match the unplugged very old gear which become unprofitable after halving, at least for this difficulty period and current price. Seems no afterhalving drama at all, hashrate seems oscilating around 0 so far.

Well if you think about it, every 10 S5s that shut off equal 1 S9 turning on, or every 20 S3s, or every 40 S1s... I also agree it will take a little time to see any repercussions from switching off old gear, if that blip is even noticeable today with the rate that gear speed and efficiency are increasing.

that was true in

spring of 2014  we were at  200 ph  so 40ph was s-1

I kept track  of antminer and avalon spondoolies and a few other ones.

we are 400ph of .5 to 2 watt gear

we are 800 ph of .25 to .50 watt gear

we are  300 to 500 ph of s-9

and of course we have had a mystery spike from 150ph to 400ph on and off since last nov.

I estimate there is 2000ph of gear if we all run everything there is

Bitwisdom still pretty good number's and no huge jumps on it which is nice to see after halving:
Bitcoin Difficulty:    213,398,925,331
Estimated Next Difficulty:    216,741,891,840 (+1.57%)
Adjust time:    After 874 Blocks, About 6.0 days
Hashrate(?):    1,572,556,394 GH/s

Coinbase almost hitting 670 currently.   So a little bit of gain on coin value which is always nice to see.  Around 12 hours or so ago we were in high 640's so around 20 dollars or so currently up in a day.  Which for me makes it a good day.

Many still mine because they believe in Bitcoin rise. On paper BTC still has a chance to get to over $100k.

There is chance for Bitcoin to go over $100k, and quite possible given the dollar inflationary nature. But im not sure about timescale, so how many of us be still here when it finally happens. If it happens in few years, the electricity used to mine Bitcoin would be pretty big. I guess many more halvings needed for this to be possible, though short time lasting bubble is always possibility for such insane price not backed by mining cost.

No drop in hashrate so far, so maybe we might see another hashrate spike near the end of difficulty period, or just substantial amount of ordered gear arrives and helps the difficulty to go up bit more in this week.

Just my reasoning for picking almost +3%, when it seems almost +1% real time value only so far.

It looks li from the past you can try and make an educated guess but in the end you end up with something completely random most of the time. There are some very complicated patterns but unfortunately my super computer is tied up right now ;) so I'll just have fun make sure random guess.

It seems around +1 might be the winner, but picks already taken from -0.6 to +3.5. But in the end it is about luck how long the last block(s) take and +-1% even from expected last hour estimate is not unusual.

you need 30 posts to qualify  as we had an issue  with newbies last year.

I asked to show me a photo of the ring with a piece of paper that reads something with todays date .

Well at block 740 right now and there's a big drop off in the network hash.  Is it from the halving?  Is it old gear making way for new?  I honestly expected to see much more variance in network power immediately following the halving, but perhaps this is just the calm before the storm...

Yeah me too!  I guess we're in the transition right now.  I expect global hashrate to explode... but well, for now, I'm not sure about anything.

Ref. the 1 EH spike on May 23rd, thanks Phil for pointing it out.

Feels a bit ... "unfair" to see this topic not getting any replies after the people are picking their lottery tickets.

But , straight to the topic , the last drop in the graph on bwisdom , it is a glitch , miners getting unlucky or it is a really sharp drop driven by miners turning down hardware ?

Miners  all over the world are getting their power bills.  Most of us get   a bill on the same day each month  but it could be any day.

So a guy in USA gets a bill on July 5
A guy in France gets a bill on July 6
a guy in Eygpt gets a bill on July 7
a guy in Russia gets a bill on July 8

so on and so forth. They look at the bill and see the truth my s-5 is a loser my avalon 4 is a loser.  Slowly but surely they are turning off gear.

I was looking at the graphs and saw that the first time the drop is not after the difficulty adjustment but more like right before another one.

My current theory is that rather then waiting for the electricity bill (which if of a certain value) the miners are right now in some sort of a Canadian stand off waiting for the others to turn down their miners first.

A lot depends on your setup .

lets say  you were doing the real cheap power old gear setup

you had 1000 s-5's at 6 cent power  about 1.05 ph.

you were earning  1.143 btc  a day or 729 usd a day

you are now losing   .0944 btc or    62 usd a day

So you are close to break even rather then break up the farm  you mine a few days and decide to turn off.

you are a winner with this farm as you mined with it from January 2014 when you pruchased the gear at 300 usd a unit.

So now you shut it down you wait and see if you can get  lot of s-7s cheap  your  breakeven on a 200 dollar  s-7 would be  165 days

but right now you shut your self down  while you wait and see if you can get a lot of cheap s-7's

The power bill is delayed however. In my area it can take up to 3 months to get an actual power bill. They manually check each riser usually 3 times a year and your rate is prorated.

Absolutely true.  my bills are monthly in house  with 1 of 4 an auto bill.

This is good since as you say every 4 months is the norm.

This means only very few people have seen a bill since the ½ ing  it has only been about 9 or 10 ten days  so if every miner in the world has 30 day billing only  1 of 30 to 10 of 30  days are on a new bill. And for those on longer plans most people have not fully faced the ½ effects.

Lets pretend all losing gear is being turned off once a new bill comes. (not true)

lets pretend there is 400ph in losing gear now mining (may be true)

we will have a month or two downward trend for difficulty  maybe slowly going from 213 now to 180ish in sept-oct   then the trend up will happen.

this could be very good for those grabbing a s-9 or two.

I still think bitmaintech has made an error on the price and should be selling the gear right now at 2200 not 1970 or so.
Basically I believe they would still sell gear at the 2200 dollar level.

Yea I'm pleasantly surprised of the drop. I hope your right Phil and it continues for a diff or three. I should have my s9 Monday according to ups. They shipped it out immediately.  :). I'm making a play on btc rising and also will get the joy of running some downclocked s7 I purchased for winter heat.  A few kw heats my pad nicely over winter.  Be a nice upgrade from s3 I ran over last winter. I'm hoping I can get the s7 as quiet as s3 come time to put it in the house.  Back to diff.  I was seeing close to 12 min block time avg yesterday according to zeroblock.  When I think of all the last machines it seemed bitmain knew what was coming. Like I've said I think they have a good hold of things.  Let's hope price rises or diff drops to justify them keeping price high on miners. Be nice since I waited and basically screwed myself out of earnings before the halving.

Best regards
D57heinz

I'm hoping I can get the s7 as quiet as s3 come time to put it in the house.  Back to diff.  I was seeing close to 12 min block time avg yesterday according to zeroblock.  When I think of all the last machines it seemed bitmain knew what was coming. Like I've said I think they have a good hold of things.  Let's hope price rises or diff drops to justify them keeping price high on miners. Be nice since I waited and basically screwed myself out of earnings before the halving.

Best regards

looking back to last august

a flat 3 months of jumps
4 really bad months of high jumps
5 flatter months

I really hope for more flat growth to continue
my guess for the chart below would be right in the middle of the two last arrows I drew

That's funny I got my power bill today and noticed it was much higher than I wanted it to be.  The summer rates have kicked in.

I got my power bill a while ago, I don't recall exactly when.  But I don't have any big miners going now, just some usb sticks and such for fun.  And a few are on "free power" so they earn dust which is nice.

But I'm not surprised at the down turn, I think we are going to see a lot of the non-efficient gear going offline now.

we could have this happen maybe we get 2  or 3 drops and dip back down to 195 diff by the end of august

if what im seeing on the 3day charts are correct im looking for an explosion soon on the price.. within a month!  could be any day now really.  still learning a lot on charts and i know a lot like to say btc doesnt follow those indicators but when i look in past it sure seems to to me anyway. to each their own when it comes to the charts:)  course that means diff would follow suit possibly. going to be an interesting next couple weeks i feel.

Thanks  it will be the first truly good kitchen that I have owned.

I would have extended my home on that side of the house to get what I really and truly wanted.  But the town has setback property laws so  making the home wider is restricted.  I would need to make the home deeper at a higher cost then I was willing to pay.

So we got better materials upgrades on the Granite and  the sink.

Does look good so far.

pretty good

So  I will do a real time number.

421007 (Main Chain)   2016-07-16 17:32:36

419328 (Main Chain)   2016-07-04 23:16:01

1670 blocks in 11 days  18 hours 20 minutes

should be 1584 + 108 + 2 = 1694

so real time is          1670/1694-1 =     -1.4167% real time number  with 338 blocks or so left

I cant stand it when you get refused planning applications because of silly reasons, especially if the extensions don't impact anyone else. But I suppose if you bend the rules for one you open the flood gates. But still, as you've said, you've made the best of a bad situation and upgraded materials. I like the granite, better than the bog standard granite every chooses here in the UK. I swear everyone has the same kitchen but a different colour these days  ::)

Woah why is the kitchen Reno taking 5 weeks?! Did the plumbing / electrical / gas have to be moved?

Honestly we just got pretty much the same kitchen a few months back and it took 2 guys 2 full days then a few hours correcting things that I noticed were wrong (2 counters that were different heights on either side of the stove and a few knobs that needed to be replaced)

Although we did a lot of it ourselves (flooring, electrical was done beforehand, paint, lighting, venting for the range hood) so I guess those finishing touches took time beforehand and time after they came. That and I must admit we didn't go with granite ;)

It was even lower by a little bit a day ago.  I will not complain as it is nice to see a negative I thought positive for sure, but will be happy to be wrong in this case.  The BTC value also not to bad... I'm finding it hard to complain :).

At coinbase were sitting around high 690's, almost at 670.  It did dip for a bit but only around 7 dollar's so really again not much bad there could be much worse.  I went into halving with a lot of expectations and it's really been mild ... I should have been more optimistic as after halving has not been terrible.

The drop appears to be done and we're back to almost and even change right now.  Still anyone's game at the moment.

OT- kitchen looks good, I went through a nightmare bathroom remodel in house that just sold, the job took forever and just mistake after mistake.

That drop has reversed. We are really close to 0%.

I still see more drops in the future.

As people see their profits turn to losses.  We will be getting downward  pressure on the hash rate.

Bitmaintech has such a power position at the moment I simply see them selling the s-9 as high as possible for as long as they can.

Other shit can happen a strong price drop to 500 usd would really shake shit up.

On http://nextdifficulty.com/ hover your mouse above it and it gives a description but:
"Conservative estimate suggests the hashrate won't change from now"
"Continous estimate suggests hashrate keeps growing at recent pace"

But going to hashrate it looks really great if this continues.  I am always happy with a negative.   Coinbase made it to 680 so that also is good.

Here is  my spec below:

Now for the people that screamed batches 1,2,3,4   could never roi in btc   this is how they can roi in both btc and usd.

plain and simple a flat growth rate works. Of course  the question is do we get it?

Or does bitmaintech drop the s-9 down to 1000 usd and crush us?  The game has become very much what will bitmaintech do with s-9 sales.

So far :
 the s-7ln = 291
the s-7    = 440
the s-9   = 1863

All staying the same

here is one of their big btc addy's:

https://blockchain.info/address/1KwA4fS4uVuCNjCtMivE7m5ATbv93UZg8V

looks like 53 s-9's sold from   7-16  12:42    to   7-18 16:42

roughly 53 x 3 = 159 coins 108,000 usd

I pulled an older   and the newest set of records  I get 288,000 usd in sales

I have an over lap of of two transactions  that look to be 9 btc and 3 units

so 282,000 in sales   in a 2016-07-14 20:10:02   to 2016-07-18 12:46:02 time frame

I left out any amount under 2.5btc  since that may be other products like the s-7, s-7ln psu's etc.

So in under 4 days 282,000 usd in btc sales for the s-9 .. They have other accounts  they also take in bank transfers.

This is about 415 btc.  I have to think the weekend slows sales a bit. But the high price method for s-9 sales  is good if you got early batches.

That drop has reversed. We are really close to 0%.

I still see more drops in the future.

As people see their profits turn to losses.  We will be getting downward  pressure on the hash rate.

I rather expect around 0 or very small difficulty rise in the next few months. The reason is the new S9 units might sell faster than unplugging much larger number of old generation units reguired (Th/s wise). I dont see Bitmain has problem selling S9 for almost 2 grand, and I think it is fair price for anyone who pays around 5 cents for the electricity.

And don't forget the pretty good % of "dreamers" who keep mining no matter what.

Does anybody have a stats of USB miners still on?
And I guess that a lot of other old miners are in the same situation.

....or am I giving them too much credit?

That's pretty much impossible to tell, any estimate you want to make based on 0.25W/GH and lower fall apart when people have free electricity. There are definitely people out there mining (USB for certain and likely s5/s7LN/s7/s9) on free electricity, and there's really no way to know how much hashpower that may represent both in pools and solo mining.

There are a TON of usb sticks that I think turned into collector's items.  Even today people spend way to much for asic miner stick's.  They were smart making multiple color's as it seems there are people that want to collect them all.  But as far as how many are shown as decoration vs mining it's impossible to say.  We really have no clue of how much of any miner is on the network.

I personally sold off a lot of my usb stick's.  I did lotto mine with compac's for a while there are still people using them.  I sold all but three I kept a prototype, reviewer unit, and production model.   I need to get them back up but other project's have taken priority.  On a side note we lost a little bit of gain we had on price.  Coinbase went down to 672 hopefully we can get it back up to 680 again.

Exactly my thoughts, just I was not sure. And this makes the predictions on how many miners will be disconnected even harder.

I think that the diff will still rise since people will not necessarily mine for today's profit and will not disconnect that easy.

https://bitcoinwisdom.com/bitcoin/difficulty

Bitcoin Difficulty:   213,398,925,331
Estimated Next Difficulty:   212,850,309,927 (-0.26%)  this is slowly dropping which matches my block counts

Adjust time:   After 16 Blocks, About 2.7 hours
Hashrate(?):   1,613,386,893 GH/s
Block Generation Time(?):
1 block: 10.1 minutes
3 blocks: 30.2 minutes
6 blocks: 1.0 hours
Updated:

the gray spike below appears to be in error it is showing us at a hashrate of 1600ph I don't seem to see this rate in actual block count.

As of now bitcoinwisdom has multiple errors on its site the 25 block reward vs 12.5 block reward in its calculator and the hashrate for the last 500 blocks seems wrong.

http://nextdifficulty.com/   has us at 1500ph and does not reflect that gray spike at all

Interesting, so are you thinking that down spike is some sort of error in the way bitcoinwisdom reads/records/calcs the network hash rate?  This adjustment period is a strange one!

I was really hoping that difficulty would drop much more after the halving.  At least it is flat for the most part.

Kitchen's looking good!  Love the counter top and matching back splash.

Only 8 blocks left for first difficulty change after halving. From the looks of it it'll be slightly negative but nothing serious. Most people expected way more in negative side. We'll see it within next hour or so.
